OK, who else is going to pledge to lose a certain amount of weight in January. After all Cruise04's work, we can't let the pledging end. So who else is with me? I pledge to lose (hopefully) exactly 5 pounds this month. If I can figure out how to do the different color fonts as Cruise04 did, I'll do different colors for each 10% (but all that's contingent upon me figuring out how to change font colors). So who else is in? And for how much?

Alright.... I'm in for 5. I started out losing a pound the first week of Dec, and then proceeded to gain 3 the rest of the month. Yikes!!!

It's really individual, it seems. I used to weigh in every Friday. Some people belong to a group that weighs in every Tuesday or Wednesday. So whenever is right for you.

There is an exercise challenge... I said I'd exercise 1000 minutes this month. Today, I walked 15 minutes, so mine currently reads 15/1000 because I've exercised 15 out of my 1000 minutes.

Niki - Thanks, and we were at Disney, this year for 5 glorious days to see Christmas in the world. Not sure when we'll be able to do it again but I am looking forward to it. Of course our next trip is the end of June and I will be thinner and fitter when we go.

I was doing really well until my work travel went to 100%. Now I have gained about 6 lbs back... Plus it's not like I had lost everything I need to lose! New Year, New Me. I am not going to use Travel as an excuse. Joined WW online and off I go.

Kaysmommie- I wish I knew how others lose so much. They definitely have more selfcontrol and motivation than I. There are some amazing weight losses around here. I just can't deprive myself too much, or it will backfire. I've lost 31 pounds over 16 months, and go up and down a little each month. The past few months I haven't had a net loss, but haven't gained either. I'm hoping to start losing with the new year. It's so hard, but there is so many inspirational people around here. I try to come online instead of snacking.
Good luck. Slow loss is good, and maybe it will be easier to keep off.

Hi Kay's Mom,

First of all, I think you need to realize, that you might not be like everyone on this board because you don't have a lot of weight to lose. Some do. Some don't. It's always lost at a much faster rate when people have more to lose at first.

For me:

I've lost 17, and whatever I will lose this month....I don't like to weigh myself very often... works for me, since July. For me, I like that rate because I don't want to make one change that I can't live with for life. Not one. Nada. So because I've made that choice I won't lose as fast and c'est la vie. Because I want to enjoy life and for me, and me only, that means not thinking about food all the time. I know diet plans work for many.

I eat totally normally. A good majority of the time I eat nutritious food. But only the ones I love. However, I eat chocolate, fast food, anything that I want. Obviously, not all the time but something that someone perceives as "bad" more than once a week for sure. I don't see food as bad or good. Just food. I also use smaller plates at times. Most of my plates are now what plates used to look like in our/my childhood.

It's more exercise that makes the difference for me. I rotate various programs of cardio, pilates and weights. The one that I love the most and has produced tremendous results is an interval program (on and off the cardio machine with light weights/and or pilates in between and then back on cardio for three minutes ...back and forth for 50 minutes). When I'm on my other programs I'm four to six days a week. With the interval/station program it is so effective that I only do it every other day.

Also, and this probably doesn't pertain to you at all because you are simply getting off pregnancy weight, I've found as I do better and better in my life emotionally well the weight loss is much easier.

Hang in there. It's probably only because you don't have a lot to lose. And like I said a combination of cardio and weights/pilates in one session has a big impact on one's body's chemistry and ability to get weight off.

Thanks Lisaviolet and Mikamah:) . The emotional ups and owns of life might be a reason I lose so slowww if at all. It is baby weight but DS is 2 now so that excuse will not work much longe r:rolleyes: .I know stress plays a role in weight lose/gain so I have to find another way to manage it I guess. Exercise seems to help a bit. Congrats to everyone on their weight loses.

Now I am normally a slow loser so I know that I will slow down. When I first start "eating healty" it's easier for me to lose. A lot of that is water. I know if I make myself drink 6 to 8 glasses a day the first few weeks I will lose a few pounds, but that won't continue. (However, what I tend to forget is that I do feel better overall when I get more water!)

I travel almost every week on business and you don't always have control in that situation so I just do the best I can. I also use the "is it worth the calories" test on treats. Sometimes they are, sometimes not! LOL!

I hopped on the scale this am and it regitered another 2 lb loss!! I was :cheer2: I didn't think it would happen so quickly. I weighed in on Fri and had a 1.5lb loss so to have 2 more lbs today really surprised me. My total for the month is: 6.5/5!! Gol met and still have some to spare if I happen to gain a bit back while were gone next week.

I'm off to the World and I'm going to enjoy myself, including every delicious bite!

Good luck to those still working on your goal, some times it comes easier than others and I know I'll hit a speed bump or two alond the way as well.

Good morning, everyone! Seems like several people exceeded their goal already while I was gone. Great goin'! Hopefully I'll sort everything out and update this morning. Unfortunately a couple pounds seem to have followed me home from WDW. Now I'm actually up 1 pound from where I was at the beginning of the month. That darn DDP! And I confess I didn't formally exercise like I vowed I would, except for once. I'll get right back on track today. So many people here have been so successful, it really motivates me.

Whew! Alot of changes while I was gone. If I got anyone's weight goal and/or loss wrong, please don't hesitate to let me know by PMing me or just let me know here.

I weighed myself this morning and I've lost another 3 lbs, so I'm very happy with that considering what is going on in my life at the moment! That now puts me at 11/10.

I just weighed myself for the first time in a couple of days and I MADE MY 5!!!!:yay: :yay: Bad thing is it is Friday and the weekends are my downfall. I just have to make good choices. :guilty:

WI day this morning, and unfortunately only 0.5 pounds went this week, so I'm still up 0.5 from original weigh-in. Everyone here is such an inspiration. When I get the urge to eat something I shouldn't, I should come here to read these success stories first. Way to go!

well, I had lost 7 pounds so far this month, but this week I gained 2.6 of it back! LOL Still close to my 5 pound goal, (4.4/5)though I am hoping to get back to 7 by the end of the month. :goodvibes

Well, my official January loss is 3.5. I was down 6.6 at one point, but impending TOM and a bad weekend took it's toll. Hopefully Feb will be better!
