Hi!
For those of you who have run the Half-Marathon before, is there enough music and excitement on the course to keep you entertained? I'd rather not block it all out with my MP3, but if there are big stretches of nothingness, I'll pack it!
TIA!

Katie- There is lots of music and entertainment along the course, but if you have trained with your MP3 player, you might feel more comfortable with it. There are definitely dull spots on the road between EPCOT and MK. I have done the 1/2 twice without my ipod and had no problems. I did the DL 1/2 with the ipod in September and was glad that I had it. I say pack it and decide once you get there.

Hi, Heather!
Thanks for your quick reply! I'll take your advice and bring it. It might come in handy for the 3 hours before race time, too!

I'd say the same, if you are really dependent on having it, take it. I don't plan to take mine for the half. I enjoyed chatting with people along the way and while waiting. People are really friendly even if they have friends they always seem to welcome an extra conversation along the way. There is a bit of "down" time, but you can make it work for you. I also enjoy hearing the sounds around me for the shorter times. If you WISH you had it then you'll be sad. Take it and if you don't use it, that should be good too.

I liked having mine during the early morning while waiting for the 1/2 to start last year. I kept mine in one ear, turned it off and on, using mostly on the road stretches to keep a good pace.
