Help!:sad1:

Okay, I used to be here a lot and did the Half Marathon with many disers in 2005 and even have some wonderful buddies that I met through WISH and still keep in touch with (although admittedly not as frequently as I plan to in the future)

I've had a lot of life changes in the past few years - married in 2004, moved from MA to FL in 2005, moved from FL to MA in 2006 and may even move back to FL in 2007. Through it all I let my diet and exercise go to the very bottom of my priority list, and I've got 18 extra pounds to prove it. I might not mind so much except that the day after Christmas I ended up in the hospital. Most likely it was an infection in my intestines, but the gastro wants to test for other things like Crohns disease. Since I had never had this happen before, (and I think I know my body well) I think it was an infection. I'm feeling a lot better, but I know I need to take better care of myself.

About a month ago I began reading about Dr. Weil and even rented a DVD on his program. I'm tempted to get the book and try to follow his suggestions, but must admit I found some suggestions a little difficult or costly to implement. I can incorporate organic produce into my diet, but organic is a lot more expensive and we don't have the budget for full blown organic. I also read that he said you should have your drinking water tested.:confused3 I can't imagine I'll go that far.

I'm wondering if anyone else is familiar with him, has followed his program, or has anything else to offer on the subject?

Thanks!

Oh yeah, and expect to see more of me around here!:thumbsup2

Welcome back! We've missed you!

I have not heard of this program. I would be interested in any comments here.

I have heard of the debate regarding organic/not organic. I know my DH's doctor firmly believes more in what he always advises: calories in must be less than calories out no matter the program in order to effect weight loss. Doc continues with that mantra to us whenever the subject of weight is discussed.

Good luck with all this. I'm hoping to read more of your progress as you see less of yourself and we have you here more!

Thank Tiger Lily! I know, Dr. Weil isn't really a weight loss plan, but I thought I might follow his advice and get more active for the first 8 weeks and THEN buckle down and incorporate what I learn from him with WW. I actually did join his website, so I think I have e-mails from the first 8 weeks - maybe I'll try it and I can let people know what it's like! His site was expensive though - I think I'll review the e-mails and get the book.
