View Full Version : Room for one more??? Newbie alert!

Hi everyone!! I have decided that i need to do something NOW about my weight.. And I know if i can do it anywhere - the DIS is the place for support. :thumbsup2
I am currently about 200 lbs. and would love to get to be back to about 160 or so by next yr at this time.
I have 3 (yes 3) trips planned this yr.. And all leading up to my DCL first cruise next December! I am so unhappy with the way i look - and more important - with the way i FEEL.. I need to change.
I think that most people don't change until they WANT to.. and i know for me, that time has come. I can feel it. :) I want to be one hot mama on our cruise.... :woohoo:
Anyway - I am going to spend the next couple days going over the WISH forum, to try to take it all in.. but i wanted to introduce myself. :flower3:

I think you are right when you say, "I think that most people don't change until they WANT to", at least I know it was true for me. I have been overweight most of my life and I have tried diet after diet after diet with no success. It wasn't until I was really serious about getting healthy that it all clicked together. Good luck in your journey, we look forward to your contribution to WISH.

and you know this is a BIG goal for me this year -- to busy myself at my scrapping table, especially between the hours of 3 - 5 p.m. when i find myself tired and snacking!! scrapping not snacking in 2007!!

Oh... i like that!! Great idea.. I have so much scrappin' to catch up on, including my WDW book for 2006 that i just started, before we go back in Nov. LOL :thumbsup2

I am starting, again. I say that way too much. LOL I weight about the same and have been about all of my adult life. I never gained much with my pregnacies but nursing put it on with them. I ended up gaining 30 pounds with my 2nd dd but I think much of that was depression related with my losses. I dieted and lost 50 then and after my 3dd and nursing Igained 20 and then lost it with ww. I have since put it back on over the years though so I am back to square one.

With all of this biggest loser and diet talk on Dis Health I was shocked to see how much I should weight to be healthy. I knew I was bigger but I was shocked. I doubt I will ever be 140ish but I need to get healthier. WW shocked me on what a serving actually is. No wonder I am overweight. :rolleyes1

My neighbor (Her dh lost some too) lost a lot of weight though out last year. Most of it the right way (diet and exercise regualarly) but I know she is using some kind of OTC (DH told me, not her) so I hope she can keep it off. She looks great and it a great motivation. The good/bad thing is she gave/sold me her old clothes. She has great taste but it is depressing too, KWIM.

So if you need a buddy to chat with I would love to.
