Ok I just booked a week at SSR Oct 29 thru Nov 2. What would my chances be of getting BCV at 7 months? I am going mostly for the F & W so staying there would make it easier to get back and forth.

Not very good, I'm afraid. BW and BC fill up first. All members want to stay at those two resorts during the F & W.

I'd suggest you make a "back-up" reservation at your home resort now while you are in the 11 month window. Then at 7 months call and see if there is availability at BCV. If not, ask to be put on the wait list at that time.

I kind of agree that your chances aren't too good. I booked BWV at the 10 and a half month point and MS said that rooms were disappearing fast (of course I wnated Boardwalk view and got it!).

BUT, that being said, I would use the waitlist. The earlier you get on, the better your chances will be - certainly better than someone who books it at 4 months.

We got BCV last year at the 7 month mark but it was at the beginning of the fest (Sept 30-Oct 4).

We own at Wilderness Lodge but always stay at Boardwalk. We got a 1 bed Boardwalk at 7 months during F&W in 2003, 2005 & 2006 by calling reservations every three days or so and adding days to our reservation. No trouble doing so (touch wood). I would assume BCV would be similar availibility.

Thanks for the input everyone. I guess I will have to see how much pixie dust I will need at the 7 month mark. Will update in a couple months.

We did the exact same timeframe this year. We were able at 7 months to get 2 nights at BCV. We tried to wait list for 2 more nights and never got it. So we ended up with 5 nights at SSR and 2 nights at BCV.

However, at 7 months they still had boardwalk preferred, we wanted to try BCV so turned it down.

Well I just spoke to MS about changing resorts. I was able to get the first 3 nights at Boardwalk with a Boardwalk view and 1 night preferred. Waitlisted for the fourth night for Boardwalk view.

Congratulations, that's great you were able to get it at the seven month mark. I was shocked last year when we got VWL for Spring Break just 3 months out, we'd waitlisted and it came through.

At 7 months we waitlisted for a studio in BCV during F & W and got it after about 2 months on the waitlist. This year we're staying at BWV Boardwalk view, and I actually had Boardwalk points transferred in to take advantage of the longer booking window.

What days did you go?? I am hoping for a wait list to come through for me the second weekend in November.

Thanks

I called last Friday for a 1 BR Nov. 2-6, and was waitlisted. I called back on Monday this week to see if I could get a 1 BR at any other resort, and the waitlist had already come through!

We had no problem booking BWV at 7 months (9/30 - 10/6) Preferred Studio. I wouldn't give up hope -I would call each day though, just in case. Good luck!

:woohoo:
My waitlist came through.
Now I have all 4 nights with a Boardwalk view.
Not even a full day on the waitlist.

Ok, so after being all excited about getting the 1-bedroom Boardwalk view , I come home today and my wife says change the Oct F&W trip to include me and your sons (5 total now) . So a not so quick call with MS and we have 2 nights booked and 3 on the waitlist for a Boardwalk view 2-bedroom. Oh, I also had to extend the trip a day as well which meant changing two plane tickets. I am now crossing my fingers an toes and hoping for some pixie dust it comes through. pixiedust:
