If you were newly single and taking a solo trip to WDW for the first time, which resort would you stay at and why? Assume that you have as much money as you need for the resort of your choice (no congierge or suites). Summer timeframe.
While I like the parks and don't have a problem with small children, I've done the daddy thing at Disney several times and am thinking of a more adult trip this time. Jellyrolls, PI, quality food, etc. Places where I could experience Disney and socialize with other adults. I'm initially leaning toward BW but am a big "value for the money" person and I'm not sure if I'd do it without an AP discount. I do get testy when my hotel room is in a noisy area so the quieter the better for inside the room.

I would choose Beach Club, Yacht Club, or Boardwalk. They have easy access to Epcot World Showcase, so you always have great dining options, and you have easy access to stuff to do at Boardwalk, like ESPN Club, Jellyrolls, etc.

BCV - go rent a reservation from a DVC owner.
you can get a quiet room - the views aren't the greatest. now you can get a fireworks view for Illiuinations.

I'll be a little different here. My 1st choice would be the Boardwalk Villas, then the Swan/Dolphin, Beach Club Villas.
Reason for BWVs? Closest to JELLYROLLS!!! :dance3:

Oh, yes! That's where I always choose to stay solo. We're DVC owners, and have 100 points at BCV, just for my solo trips.

If I didn't have to be concerned about price I would choose AKL Savannah view and a king size bed of course!

Regardless of price, CSR seems like the best place to avoid crowds of small children. Being a convention resort, they have an abundance of adults traveling without family. Really liked Francisco's Lounge for chatting up other adults.

I think I'm with tampaguys if money is no object. My newly-single trip wound up at Pop Century, but the decision was made for me. (I will admit it turned out fine - at least in Sept, I could hang out at the bar and chat with other adults and never have a single kid walk into the area.....) The EPCOT resorts would give me easy access to a lot of restaurants I enjoy. BW would be an easy walk home after Jellyrolls. My other choice would probably be AKL - I do love sitting out on the balcony having morning coffee and watching giraffes stroll by. :)
