I know that we have a couple of days left of the old year but we should also start thinking about the new year. Who's up for the New Year Challenge?
I am hoping for 1200 minutes. I haven't finished a challenge since August but hey it's a New Year. Let's get started.

Dona - I'm with you. I would like to sign up for 1000 min for Jan. We will be at WDW from the 1st until the 8th but I plan on going out every morning for a half hour walk before starting the day.

DH and I were just talking last night about needing to get back to the track. I can't remember the last time that we actually did focused exercising. My goal will seem low to some but I don't want to make an un-reachable one. I'm going to start out with 600 minutes for January but will aim for more. Thanks for getting this challenge started.

I'm shooting for 1000 minutes in Jan. :cool1: My dh and I have been exercising everyday for the last few days. I'm tempted to skipp a day or two but I think for a month I really need to commit to a daily exercise even if its only 10 minutes. We have On Demand workouts on the cable and they have some 10 minute quickfix. We are really into this one kickboxing one. :thumbsup2

I've been away for toooooo long! I was all up for the weight loss before our trip, but since getting back, not so much (and that was September!).
I'm going for 810 minutes for January. That's 30 minutes a day, with Sundays off. I know I can do more but I'm setting an attainable goal and if I do more, then good for me!

I'm in for 600. Don't want to set too high a goal, since I didn't make the last few, and I know January will be very busy with work, and other things happening with the family. This should be do-able.

Welcome to all those setting exercise goals for the first time here on WISH...and welcome back to all those who have returned! Good for you! I am setting a smaller goal for January since I am going to be having surgery on the 10th and have been told not to exercise for 2 weeks following that. Put me in for 600 for January.

Welcome everyone. Just a couple more days unitl the New Year. I have posted everyone up till now.
When you post please give me your total for the month not what you did on that day. It will be much easier if you just give me your total. I don't mind if you post daily or weekly but I think weekly will be better for me.
I will put in color after people hit 50% and their goal (Sorry goldcupmom I don't think I will have the time to do colors for each 10% like you did but maybe if I can get my act together.)

I'm going to shoot for 500 again. I plan to reach Dec's goal tomorrow...... last chance. I'll be touring the world and getting lots more exercise than I normally do but it's hard to time walking in the parks.

Back from the gym where the snow has shorted out all their electrical to their water heating systems. So, I did a slightly cool 63 minutes of lap swimming and no hot shower after. Then stepped out into 18 degree temps!

Ok (deep breath here), I'm in. I loved the WISH board last spring and it really helped me. Then, I fell off the diet/exercise wagon (gaining back a few pounds of the 30 I'd lost, but getting more out of shape--that's worse for me) and I got too embarrassed to post. :sad2:
We go to WDW for an adults-only trip in March, and I want to lose 10-15 pounds (but most importantly, get in better shape) by then. Thanks in advance for all of the help WISH gives me--y'all keep me motivated!! :cheer2:
Now, long story over, I'm in for 1000 minutes!! :yay:

Well, it was actually more than that, but it was a lot of standing around, too, so I'm calling it 5. I'm not going to edit my siggy till I'm done with my 30 though.

I did a step workout on Fit TV. I LOVE that channel! It is free with my direct cable and I can DvR a few that look fun the night before and chose whichever one I decide the next day. It is great for an indoor workout at home and I don't have to get ready;)

Okay when DH got up this morning for business trip instead of going back to sleep for 30 minutes I got up and did 65 min on the eliptical machine. It felt sooooo good. That brings me up to 200/600. Hopefully I'll need to re-evaluate my goals. But then again I need to eat better - need to get back on track with WW...

As for getting back on track, make that goal happen today. On Monday I got back on track and I'm already down a little over a pound. Way to go! I'm going to the gym at lunch!

I am sorry I have lacked posting my results but it is better for me to do it weekly, sorta. Today, I had the power to walk a total of 10 miles. Yes, 10. That is only because I ate some things that maybe I shouldn't have and felt guily afterwards. Has this ever happened to anyone before? But I now feel great. So, in total I walked 150 minutes today - not all at one time of course. The other days are as follows for this month. Hope all is well.

Whew! Just back from Disney. Was down for the marathon weekend. Participated in the 1/2 marathon (finished:) ) and the full (didn't:sad2: ). Blisters got me at mile 21 1/2.
So, I got a lot of run/walk time in between the two events and park time.
