So it's almost time to ring in the new year! Who's going to be at WDW this year for the festivities?

I'd love to get together with some DISers and have a drink, or two, or three!

Not going to be at WDW but will be at D'land! We'll raise our glasses at 9:00 PST to toast with those of you on the other coast!

We are heading to WDW on NYE, although at this point in time we have no idea where we'll be. :confused3

We have ADRs at the GFC that evening, but if we can get into the park around mid-day we might end up in a park instead... Or, we might just end up sitting out on our balcony at SSR if we get a DTD view!

But, we will be there. I've got the luggage sitting out waiting to be packed so we can leave early Sunday morning! Now I just have to do laundry 'n stuff to get ready to pack... :laundy:

We'll be going to the Hoop De Doo Revue on the 31st and hopefully watch the fireworks from the Fort Wilderness beach. I hope it doesn't rain!

Anyone know what our chances might be of getting into any of the parks that evening?

Only Magic Kingdom tends to fill up completely on New Years Eve. Generally, if you're not inside Magic Kingdom by about 11 am, you're not getting in.

EPCOT used to fill up by late afternoon, but it hasn't the last few years.

That is something I would have loved to do!!! right now i am planning on being at Magic Kingdom for NYE.... I am also in for the Marathon.. so I'll be around all week.. all by my lonesome... we went to Epcot last NYE and it was so packed, all the fast passes were gone, all the rides were long waits, and the restaurants were booked up for the whole day.

Even Maelstrom was a 50 minute wait.

We just went back to the hotel. It was crazy.

There still might be Cyndi tickets for anyone who is interested. We went with the VIP ones...............which includes food and drinks. The food is supposed to be a big spread that I think is being done by Emerils.

When it's midnight for you west-coasters, we'll be in bed asleep at the Beach Club. If one of us happens to snore or drool a little right at 3 am, we'll consider that our version of a "toast" to you. :)

For the first time in about ten years, we'll be headed away from WDW for NYE. We are going to the beach to watch fire works on the ocean and drink champagne in plastic flutes. :teeth:

Happy New Year to all of you spending it at WDW and any other place you may be! EPCOT is a great place to spend NYE, by the way. Have fun!

No parks for me tomorrow. After working all day, I plan on finding a nice bar to pull myself up to, pour a few drinks, and do some dancing! Thinking maybe Southern, Pulse, or the dreaded P-House. Any other good ideas?

I'd go see Cyndi, but the tickets are a bit pricey for me (still broke from Christmas LOL).

Let's see - we always host the inlaws on New Year's Day and I just worked this morning, so, I'm on my way to food shop, then back home for the Eagles game, and then about as exciting as it gets is going to be watching the "Devil Wears Prada" on DVD, perhaps with a drink or two in hand.

I have no plan to actually ring in the New Year at midnight because I've got a spinning class in the morning.

Still, it's a been a super holiday season and it's great to be alive.

For those of you who are more adventursome - HAVE some REAL fun for me and do lots of things I would do!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Unfortunately, I won't be at the World for New Years......I'll be working! I work at a casino in Atlantic City and of course we are overbooked! Should be a crazy night....
On the good side, I'm heading to the World on Feb 2 for a well deserved 4 nights 5 days. Even booked a Segway Tour while we are there! Can't wait.....
Happy New Years to all from cold Atlantic City!

Hey how did that get there? And as far as people watching at a Disney water park......have you seen the movie "Super Size Me"? The highlight of my day was when I told a very large Brittish man how much his drink was and his hand did the dive INTO the speedo to get the cash........!!! YIKES

Cydni was great.

Free food, and free drinks.

It got a bit crowded after midnight, and we left around fun to avoid the traffic.

Now I have to go to work today.:sad2:

Hope everyone had a great time last night:woohoo:

Well, we're back!

We actually ended up at the MK for NYE. Despite all of the info that we wouldn't be able to get in if we weren't there by 11am... we had no problem whatsoever getting in at 8pm after our ADR at the GFC. The MK wasn't even closed to resort guests only, and there was almost no line waiting to get in at that point. Of course, there were TONS of people already in the park, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Fantasy in the Sky was amazing of course... 360 degrees of fireworks... it was a bright night. Of course something I hadn't thought of in advance... no alcohol at the MK!!! :scared: We couldn't even toast the new year! We had to settle for complimentary hot cocoa and cookies to bring in the new year...

Oh well, we'll know for next time (if we ever try that again). All of last week was just extremely busy and it seemed to get more and more busy as the week progressed (not less). Perhaps because of the marathon this weekend. Now I think we'll start to pick less crowded times of year to go. :goodvibes

Anyway, hope everyone is having a great start to the new year!
