The play is awesome. I saw it in Toronto last year! Would love to see it again. I'll be in London June 29 - July 1, and would love to go and see Idina Menzel, but they are only booking to June 30, and we are busy the first two nights. We are free on July 1, but the website I go to says there are no Sunday performances.
I too have read the book and can't decide which is better??? If you liked the book Wicked, I would definitely recommend Son of a Witch by Gregory Maguire. It is a great sequel!

MJ girl,
Idina will be long gone by then, but definitely go if you get the chance, as her replacement in absolutely incredible. You can check her out on Youtube if you ust search Kerry Ellis Wicked. She was also in WWRY and a bunch of others. I added a performance of this while I am in London just to see her live.
Have a great trip!

Thanks for the update .. I checked her out and she does sound good. When I saw the show in Toronto, the original Elphaba (Stephanie J. Block) injured herself in rehearsal and they flew in the understudy from Broadway to play the part! She was fantastic! I do love Idina though! I went to New York last January to see Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with Norbert Butz  (original Fiero) and John Lithgow (great show by the way), but wouldn't it figure, that day Norbert Butz was put on vocal silence so we saw the understudy. Did get to see John Lithgow in one of his last performance though :goodvibes !!!
