We'll be travelling to DVC very soon, and I was wondering if I could pack things like rice and dry noodles and do I have to declare them going across the border?

TIA! :)

Technically, travellers must declare all items they carry over the border (especially items which won't be brought back home with you).

What you're probably concerned about though, are which items may be confiscated by US Customs.

Dry items are pretty safe.

I have packed tons of dry foods and them some and checked them at the airport. PBJ, granola, cookies, crackers, cereal bars etc.,. S

If it's dry meat (like beef jerky or freeze dried chicken) or fruits & veggies (like dehydrated fruits) then you have to declare it and it might get confiscated. I lost pre-packaged beef jerky once going across the border.

When we cross the border. When were are asked what we have to declare we say "snacks for our trip" thats it. If they ask you about meat then answer honestly.

But if you're flying you have to fill out a customs form that specifically asks if you're bringing across any meat, fruits and vegetables. If you check the Yes box, they always ask. It's a hit and miss. They let me bring bananas with Ecuador labels, but not oranges from California. :confused3

Heck the last time I flew south of the border was in the late 80's. I'm sure things have changed a bit sence then, and at that time I was only concerned if I could get my bottle back lol.
