Mailing Order UP!! Recipe Circle Journal for Skinny Minnie's from DISappearing Peeps

OK first everyone who signs up will create there own recipe album no bigger than 10 x 10 most people in circle journals do 8 x 8. You will designing or do whatever you like on your cover.

Then on the inside create a welcome/introduction page about yourself and your goals for weightloss since this is going to be for healthy recipes. you can add a pic of you now and maybe one of what you would like to look like ofr example I wanna fit in my highschool jeans so i have a pic of me in highschool that i would put on there with the pic of me now.

then you can create tags or some for of a sign in so that each person who gets the journal not only will create a one or two page recipe layout.

Example i would make a carrot shape tag and I would like you to right where your from, age, and other info you care to share. include a pic on the backside of the carrot and decorate it as well however you see fit.

Then they would proceed to go ahead and make a one or two page layout in the album with your healthy recipe/recipes.

And we keep doing this till the rotation is over, so basically its a chain were everyone will be mailing to the same person ex:

Aries mails to Twinkie
Twinkie mails to UM

see how that chain worked simple

This way when it goes around to everyone you can all the beautiful work and ideas and when its complete then you have a little piece of everyones ideas and a great bonding experience...

Depending on the amount of people signed up we can do a mailing once a month or every two weeks. This way you have time and when its all done you will have you very own DISappearing Peeps Bible of healthy recipes for weightloss! :cheer2: :grouphug:

You mail your whole album and when each person gets it they will do one or two pages in it and send on to the next person. Thats why if you have a sign in thing like a tag or something Like I said I think Im doing carrot tags and each person will introduce them self on the carrot tag and put a picture of them on it too! You will make an album and send it off to the person you are mailing to I will assign those later.

Each person will make a one or two page layout in your album and pass it to the next person.

I am using an 8x8 if you mail priority up to a 10x10 it will always be around $4.55 with tracking. if that helps the time limit will be assessed after all the sign ups Ill give everyone till Jan. 1 to sign up and then hand out the flow of . whos mailing to whom so we can shoot for our first mail on Jan 15. You then decorate and scrap a cover and make a sign/welcome page or pages since we are a big group. then you mail your whole album out . you are just to create the outside of your album and make a sign in sheet...

i did a bunch of grapes and each person will pick one grape and follow the instructions i gave for that grape. Let me see if I can get them up in a an hour or so ok.

exactly, except you sign in one whatever the persons album tag is like mine will be a grape. You make enough "tag" for each person. but everything else is correct!

what ever recipe you feel is a good healthy recipe and you'd like to share I'm sure everyone in this group has a particular category they like best but I can bet it will be well rounded... otherwise well just have to go a second round with the journals again for more recipes :rotfl:

ah - my people!!! :goodvibes I probably only have hundreds of dollars invested, and no book to show for it!! When we went to Disney the first time, I bought a Disney Princess Book, lots of papers, stickers etc... got it out, and froze. We went to Disney again. . . Ibought more... then I went to a scrapbook store and brought everything with me. And I bought more supplies... and just couldnt do the first page!! *sigh

Then sil had a baby, and emailed us pics, so I uploaded them to the local camera store, printed them, went to JoAnn Fabrics bought another book, and more paper, supplies... and made TWO books!! :goodvibes and they turned out good!! :goodvibes

DS girlfriend graduated so I bought MORE supplies...

but I dont think I can do a book with our Disney memories, too overwhelming!!

So thanks for the encouragement, and esp for the idea of a circle journal... the more I think about it, the more excited I get!!

I'm on my way to Roberts ("Row-B-air-s" for the Frenchies) to get me some 8x8 OR 10x10 scrapbookage...plus the fixings for my MINNIE cover complete with ribbon and HOPE they have some tree shaped dye-cut that would pass as broccoli so I dont have to send away on the internet for super cool broccoli shapes.... One more daycare buddy needs to get picked up before I can GO, though.

Eeyore45~ My CM consultant has marathon retreat weekends and rents out space in a hotel. Everyone gets together and scraps to their hearts content. Registration is pretty reasonable and includes some meals and prizes. I think the next one is in just a few weeks so I'm not sure she has space but I know she tries to do at least two a year. I can post or forward info if you want it.

I went to Jo-Anns tonight and found my book. I have to wait until Fri to get it though. I knew as soon as I saw 'the one' I'd know it and I'd be :jumping: about it and everything would just come together. Well, it did! I found the book and it was like :idea: I know how I'm going to do my intro page and everything.

OK! I made it to Michael's on my lunch hour. I got a book and a few supplies. I will have to see what I have when I get home and decide on which materials and photos I will use. My mom will be over tonight, and I will have to remember to ask her about recipe ideas! She used to cater for a living and has now retired from her office job and is reworking some of her recipes into healthier versions. Hopefully I can start creating the layout itself this Sunday. I am so excited! :stitch:

I got a 8x8 MICKEY scrapbook album....

It's black and has a giant Mickey Head on the front (still all in black) and I added puffy paint eyelashes and a red bow with white dots and I have a MINNIE album!!!!!! Actually it's Mickey in DRAG :rotfl2: I got some Minnie clip art and Minnie stuff and I'm just using that stuff for adornment. I cant wait to show you guys! I'm so proud at how 6 total eyelashes and a red ribbon made Minnie!

I got a 8x8 MICKEY scrapbook album....

It's black and has a giant Mickey Head on the front (still all in black) and I added puffy paint eyelashes and a red bow with white dots and I have a MINNIE album!!!!!! Actually it's Mickey in DRAG :rotfl2: I got some Minnie clip art and Minnie stuff and I'm just using that stuff for adornment. I cant wait to show you guys! I'm so proud at how 6 total eyelashes and a red ribbon made Minnie!

I went to Michael's last weekend and got a great deal. They had those scrapbooking kits for 75% off. I found one that included 2 8x8 scrapbooks and tons of embellishments, papers etc! SO I got it for only $11.24! Now I have one 8x8 to use for our exchange and another 8x8, embellishments and papers to put on the massive pile of unused scrapbooking supplies in my Dining room! I want to matter. I need help. I need encouragement. I need you to sign my book!! I dont need to compare myself to perfection and come up looking sloppy... dont get me wrong, I've bought stickers, ribbons, and glitter, and I've researched the internet, and know I have paper to stick in... and I'm not sure how to write the recipe, but I know even if its just a 3X5 card glued onto construction paper with someone's name on it... I'm using an 8x8 scrapbook that I got at Michael's. it didn't come with enough pages for everyone's recipes and profiles so I got extra pages and inserted them. It's not a binder or a spiral album. I think they're called "post bond" albums, but I'm not sure and I'm at work right now so can't check.

Now I also bought 3 magazine/books trying to come up with a variety of ideas to go with my introduction page... I know I"m mostly a boring person, I just think there is this creative person dying to get out!!!

I'm not so concerned yet with the sign in pages... I have an idea, but I am more looking forward to the signatures!!! :goodvibes

OK first everyone who signs up will create there own recipe album no bigger than 10 x 10 most people in circle journals do 8 x 8. You will designing or do whatever you like on your cover.

Then on the inside create a welcome/introduction page about yourself and your goals for weightloss since this is going to be for healthy recipes. you can add a pic of you now and maybe one of what you would like to look like ofr example I wanna fit in my highschool jeans so i have a pic of me in highschool that i would put on there with the pic of me now.

then you can create tags or some for of a sign in so that each person who gets the journal not only will create a one or two page recipe layout.

Example i would make a carrot shape tag and I would like you to right where your from, age, and other info you care to share. include a pic on the backside of the carrot and decorate it as well however you see fit.

Then they would proceed to go ahead and make a one or two page layout in the album with your healthy recipe/recipes.

And we keep doing this till the rotation is over, so basically its a chain were everyone will be mailing to the same person ex:

UM mails to Aries
Aries mails to Twinkie
Twinkie mails to UM

see how that chain worked simple

This way when it goes around to everyone you can all the beautiful work and ideas and when its complete then you have a little piece of everyones ideas and a great bonding experience...

Depending on the amount of people signed up we can do a mailing once a month or every two weeks. This way you have time and when its all done you will have you very own DISappearing Peeps Bible of healthy recipes for weightloss! :cheer2: :grouphug:

I have my first three pages my sign in and introduction first page the intro and then when you flip that the two pages facing you are sign in. then everyone can move on from there i also attached a post it that if you run out of page protectors let me know ill ship them out to who ever has my album at that time. because they way my album works is each person can use whatever paper they want thats 8x8 and put in the page protector:yay:

My Mickey in drag is staying home. I got a cheap $3. scrapbook at Roberts to send. The only thing was to fill the refill pages in, I had to repunch the holes. I guess 8x8 refill pages vary in hole distance. It's all set with 40 pages, I think. We only need a minimum of 30 in case people want to do 2 pages.

When the book is open and you see 2 empty pages, those are the two you do...I think I'm on the same page as Aries on that. You can do 4 recipes on the 2 open pages.

I am doing a title page on mine myself.
That way everyone can do their 2 pages in mine.

I still dont get the tags??? I bought them but I dont get it. Are they put on each recipe page(s)? Gathered in a pocket at the front? What goes on the tags? Autographs? Words of dieting wisedom?

So, at this point we should be awaiting our address of our person we send to.
We should maybe pick up Extra large envelopes to be ready. MAILing Jan 30 then you only have 2 weeks. If you finish early can you mail early?

Also be planning 2-4 recipes to share. If everyone has 8x8 we can even pre-do our pages.

I would be willing to scan the recipe pages and create a 'digital' scrapbook that everyone can access whenever they want! Where do you get the Priority mail T-shirt BOX? At the Post Office I imagine.

I think the nutritional info should be included if available and Points Values too (if it's a WW recipe). I think I'm going to pre make my recipe pages to just stick into the albums and speed up the mailing process.

Like Dismom said, we decorated two pages and then glued clear plastic sleeves down and put our tags into the sleeves. Mine are Sea Shells and Dismom's are Stars (goes with our themes). I was thinking that the Peeps would pull one out, put their name, Disname, age, city, state, and maybe goals on one side and a small picture on the other (which means everyone needs to find a little picture and have 15 copies of it made if we are doing this!!!). After that is done, just stick it back in the sleeve.

Also, everyone needs to sign their page in the book somehow so we know who did what page. I bought 15 little dragonfly stickers to go in the corner of my pages as my "signature"...I know, I'm soooo creative! :rotfl:

I also put my goals in a weird place (I hate jounalling on my pages...I think it makes them look messy - and yes I realize that journalling is half the point of scrapbooking and I am weird that way, but what can I say...) :laughing:

I am pretty sure mine isn't conventional, but it will work. We don't all have to be the same as long as we get the right info in there some how, right?

The order is fine with me. I am almost ready. I spent the majority of my weekend working on my book. I procrastinated, then struggled with how to put things together, had an epiphany about the theme and got excited, then ran into some issues with the execution, & finally pulled through. I have to do a little something to the cover tonight, and pick up big freezer bags & a T-shirt box on the way home. I have ordered T-shirt boxes for the remainder of the mailings. I just don't have them yet. I also have to order extension rods for my book. I managed to get it back together after adding pages, but it is tight. (Long story!) Unfortunately, I won't have the extension rods until my book is already in the mail, so I might have to send the rods to someone along the way to add to my book if it starts exploding. :laughing: I am so excited!

Don't fret Peeps! Mine is no masterpiece, but I figure it is just for me in the end so I'm happy with it. I just did one intro page with a few pictures I printed out last night (I'm the family photog, so I don't have many of myself) and some bio-tidbits. My cover is nothing spectacular and I have plain white heart tags for people to sign in on. Plus, my kiddos have a nasty cold this morning, so I may not get to the Post Office at all today (sorry HarleyGirl, you maynot get my album on time!). Like dismom9761 said, this should be fun. Not something to stress over (note to self: take your own advice!). I'm just looking forward to getting some new yummy recipes and getting a little glimpse into my fellow peeps lives. I'm off to wipe some noses!

Well, I think I am going to be mailing out my book one day late. :( I don't see how I can avoid it at this point. I forgot to print off something last night that goes on the front of it, and the book is at home, and I am at work. While the post office here where I work is open until 6, the one at home is not open past 5, and it will be 6 by the time I get home, get that thing printed, and get the book in a box. So, I won't be able to get it back to the post office in time. It WILL be in the mail tomorrow though! I can't believe, after all the agonizing over details I did over the weekend (just my personality - I am "detail-oriented" to put it nicely:rotfl: ), that it's practically done, and I just can't figure out the logistics of getting it in the mail today. Ugh! Oh well. Sandy, it will be on it's way to you ASAP! I promise!

I went to the post office and picked up a free box - be aware that there are 2 boxes, same size, one is fixed price of $10+ the other depends on the weight of the contents!!! The one with a red circle saying fixed price I think - just ask before you box it up I think... I'm new to this!!

OK, Harley I've read this 3 times... are you sure you're speaking English?
I plan to print out the recipes so that I can get them on one two page layout, and then I'll insert my pages into your books, or glue them or whatever will work to attach them securely..

I was going to find some pretty index/recipe cards, write out by hand a recipe or two... then somehow archive tape it to some pretty papers, then tape that to more paper, add ribbon, feathers, stickers, sayings...etc...

I was also going to do the same page layout for each of the 14 books coming my way...

Right now I discovered I am no mathmatical genius, and I wish I had known math (ie geometry) was a requirement for the sign in opportunity I have chosen! :rotfl2: I have thrown the zipper/cutting board across the room, and am going to do crooked cuts... that's me a crooked genius!! :rotfl2:

All in all I cant wait, and I talked to dh when he saw the mess I made as I attempted 2 different ideas... these books are going to be filled with so much love and friendship, and good wishes... I also want to offer my thanks to all!!

On the Peep thread someone asked if we would share the books, I was googling and came across a whole site devoted to circle journals, and they take digital pictures and post them on their website - Maybe we could do this and that would save on postage for the tooth book???

Lynda, I'm thinkin that it is from you - I told dh to wait to open that pkg, he's been home, while I'm at the Hilton, for some reason I've gotten a lot of mail, usually nothin but bills!! So he's opened pkgs from my mom, my kids, my sons girlfriend.. :rotfl2: but that box, I said, just keep it safe until I get home it sounds like my internet friend!!

The main thing to consider is our privacy. I know some peeps are ok with putting ourselves out there, and I know there are some peeps that are cautious... and I know all of us respect each other!!

but I'm thinking there is a way... not sure what it is right now!! I know I'm still registered at the yahoo groups, (to keep it safer, I made it private, so you have to email me to request the invite... angelmum3@yahoo.com ) and the yahoo group site does have a place for pictures...

Ultra sound went, well, it went. They had problems measuring the heart rate cause the baby was so active, so they did a Trans vag one. Oy! That was the most uncomfortable experience as a whole.

The baby is doing great. At my next apt in March we'll see if the due date is different, but I'm guessing we are right on. Tomorrow I'll be 11 weeks.

At one point we were looking at the image of the baby on the screen and it looked like it was waving to us.

It's like this whole thing is finally validated.

Ok everyone since we all got a little late start this mont hNext mailing will be on March 1 and then I will start the mailings at every two weeks if that is ok. I am trying to do like Um said and pre do most of it and add little touches here and there to personalize but us the same recipes.

Me too-I have tried inputting them at Sparkspeople and it won't let me put in the right ingredient measurements-I might have to just go with guesstimates based on what Sparkspeople says.

Is anybody's book 10x10 or bigger? I wrote out the recipes on cards that are too big for UM's pages so I was thinking I will have to save them for a bigger book. Handwritten is Ok for everyone isn't it?

I think I know what you mean. I started scrapbooking 10 years ago, and when I look back at my first pages I'm embarassed ! There isn't an inch of paper without a sticker! :rotfl2: And being brilliant as I am I started with my wedding pictures, so my wedding album is a real cutie! I was just a little confuzeled about the circle journals and what I needed to put in it.

I had an expereinced scrapbooker offer some unsolicited advise on my first book..... I did the book the way I wanted and I liked the pages with a white background. I was a journalism student for 3 yrs, I think I can make appealing pages without putting all kinds of distracting stuff on them......

Anywho, my recipes are handwritten and the calories and such will be the best I can get based on research. I was having a hard time picking recipes to include since one of the things I'm known for isn't exactly skinnie food. I'm putting it in though and Peeps wil have to make and eat at their discretion.

I wasn't sure if the theme would go over well, but I'm 2 for 2 on the comments. I had several things in mind but I couldn't get it all pulled together. I knew when I found 'the right one' it would hit me from nowhere and I'd be tickled with the idea. It took a good bit of time but it was worth it, I'm happy with the outcome and it sounds like everyone else likes it too. You'll get the first insert pages I've done in about 2 weeks, I hope those are impressive too.

I'm looking forward to my next book arriving, I should get it tomorrow or on Monday. :goodvibes I'd better get moving on the pages though, we're taking a long weekend to visit me in-laws next week so I'll lose 5 days of my alloted time. (Good thing I never put my paper away.... LOL)

Let me apologize. I still have the 1st book and now I have the second book. I promise to do the 1st book sometime this week. Then concentrate on the second book.. I have a lot going on in personal life. A lot of big changes that I am scared to death about and I am very sorry that I have slacked in this department. You know all ladies that I have not been posting much. I have shared with a few and please dont say anything on the peeps board. But, I believe things are changing.. Look at Grumpy's symbols for his family in his signature and you wll understand.

I cant discuss it much. You all love Grumpy and I dont want that to change. I am doing all I can do, however I am beginning to accept that these changes are going to happen whether I want them to or not.

I know we are a great group and just pray for my family including grumpy.

I will do my best to get the book out soon.
