I have had a washing machine leak onto my main floor hallway carpet that runs the entire floor and up the stairs! Problem is, there was bleach in the water!! :guilty:
I have doused it in clear water....buuuuut if it takes the colour out, will my Homeowners policy cover it??
Anyone know?

If you have an "all risk" policy, yes. (It's pretty rare that people don't have this type, BTW.)

But, your deductible will apply (probably $500) and you will lose a 10% claims free discount (if you are getting it now) for 3 years.
As well, claims make it harder to get insurance, if you wish to change companies in the next few years.
So you really have to weigh your options.

I will have to number 1 wait till it all drys thoroughly and assess and read my policy as well! We have Homeowners and 3 vehicles all with the same company (ING) and have never had a claim...I guess we'll see what happens!
Thanks everyone :confused3

+1. The only thing I can add is that the best thing to do is talk it over with your broker.
