This question isn't directly related to Disneyland, but is part of planning for our trip to Disneyland in June. The musical "Wicked" will soon begin an extended run at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles. Our family would really like to see it while we're at Disneyland, but we are trying to stay on somewhat of a budget for the trip. We could probably afford the least expensive tickets for "Wicked". I'm not familiar with the Pantage Theater. Does anyone know how good or how bad the seats are in the upper part of the balcony there? If that's all we can afford, is it worth going?

Wicked is a great show! I saw it when it was out here we were in the 'ghetto' seats as I like to call them and we had no trouble seeing everything. I haven't been to that theatre but I'm sure there's not a bad seat in the house usually venues will tell you if your view is obstructed or not.

Go. Whatever seats you can afford, go. Wicked is brilliant. Hands down one of the best shows I've seen, and I'm a Broadway junkie.

We are going in May to the Pantages. My DD was able to get us tickets through the school chorus and I think we have the balcony seats. I can give you a review then (although that will be too late I am sure).
I did see the Lion King twice at the Pantages theater. I loved the history of the place.

You will love Wicked. I saw it last year and it's one of my favorite shows of all time. Pantages is a great venue, but very big. If you sit on the back row of the balcony, you will be very far away, so bring a binocular. As for any obstructions such as pillars and poles, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Too funny! :rotfl:
My girls and I loved the show and even my DH and DS, who are not theatre go-er's, enjoyed Wicked.
One thing I've heard about the Pantages is that the acoustics are not great, so if you're looking at mezzanine seats I'd at least try to stay toward the center. I understand the side sections are the worst as far as being able to hear clearly.
I say take along a pair of binocs and go for it. :thumbsup2
