In May 07 my DH and our 3 kids (2,4&7) will be staying at VWL. We've never stayed at the WL before (prior to kiddos we stayed at POR) and are very excited. Just wondering if there was anything I should order from Gardengrocer besides food like papertowels, dish soap? That sort of thing.
Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

You didn't say what size unit you were staying in.
Studios have a supply of paper plates and bowls, and plasticware. One and two-bedroom units have real (washable) plates and flatware.
You'll get dishwashing liquid, a sponge, paper towels, and a cloth dishtowel. One bedroom units and up will also have a dishwasher, and DVC will supply something for the dishwasher.
Depending on how much eating you plan to do in the room, if you're in a studio you may want to order more paper plates and bowls. If you're in a one or two-bedroom unit that won't be necessary, as you can just wash the flatware and plates.

Sorry about that. We're staying in a 1 bedroom. Thanks for the info. Sounds like we'll be all set.

You'll have a washer and a dryer in the 1BR so bring 1/2 the clothes that you normally would (even if you washed your clothes in the past, it will be so convenient now that you really will need less). You get a starter packet of laundry detergent so you will need to bring some with you, order some to be delivered or pick up some at the store.

I bought some small bottles of Tide at Target to send down in our package. The covers to the Tide do not look very sturdy so since I'm having groceries delivered I may just buy some laundry detergent instead. Yes I am so excited to have a w/d -thats a major reason why we picked a 1 bedroom. Definitely can pack much lighter now! :cool1: Thank you for the tip!

When I bring laundry detergent, I use powdered Tide. I get small baggies and put enough for a single load in it. I pack two or three loads and put the individual baggies in another baggie. i also enclose a few dryer sheets. Takes up very little space and I have exactly what I need.

Personally, I have a problem travelling with little baggies of white powder, especially when I have to cross the border. ;) Anyhoo a washer and dryer are absolutely dreamy to have. So nice to pack light. More room for gifts on the return! :P
