Does anyone know if we can pay the annual dues in instalments?
My husband and I have had a rough last 6 months and we don't have the money to pay for the dues in one hit. I know the US folks can pay by instalments but I wasn't sure if it applied to us.
Any ideas??

Not sure Lisa, perhaps give them a call.
I imagine you could pay for next years in instalments (in advance) but this years would need to be paid when due. If you find out anything different please let me know :)
That is one of the questions I asked
and we can't
don't know about the UK

I think the only way you can pay by installments is by direct debit but you need a US bank account to do this.

Thats bad news, god knows what we are going to do then as we just don't have the full amount to pay it.
Will have to give them a call and discuss it with them.

Not sure if this wouldwork for you, Lisa, but if you pay by cc (if you have one), you could then spread the payments on your cc bill.
We wanted to set up monthly payments when we joined DVC but found it wasn't an option without a US bank account, so I set up a savings account into which I pay enough each month to know I'll be able to cover the annual dues bill when it arrives. I don't use the account for anything else, so I know the money will be there when I need it.

We have just paid ours online by credit card - not ideal but I lost my job in October so we are also struggling a little at the moment. We intend to set up an account like Hilarys for next year so we don't have this to worry about in the future.

What about one of those 0% interest credit cards - I've had two offers through the post already this year & it's only the 4th!! Some of them are interest free until Nov 07
Good luck:wave2:

Just an updated on our situation. Hubby phoned Member Services who were very understanding. They have said that although we can't spread the payments as we have no US bank account what we can do is pay half now (which we can afford) and then half in another months time. Apparently we incur a $25 fee and around 18% interest on the outstanding balance. Not ideal I know but it makes it a little easier for us.
Good idea about the savings account, think I will arrange to do that too and set up a standing order.
