does anyone know if you can get a mary poppins snowglobe?

we are looking for a mary poppins snowglobe featuring the scene from
"feed the birds"

i know i have seen something like this (it is in the film, isnt it??)
and i'm so sure that disney would produce something like this to sell.

i would appreciate any help at all, as i am desperate to get one.

Have you tried ebay or any of the other auction sites?

I have one, but it is not for sale or trade. It is a limited edition snowglobe and looks exactly like the one in the movie. So, yes they do exist.

There is a wooden base on which the snowglobe stands. The snowglobe has three metal feet. Inside the snowglobe is St. Paul's Cathedral and the "snow" is white birds. It plays "Feed the birds"

I bought it at my local Disney Store about a year or so ago. What was really surprising was that it was on the clearance table at 50% off! I don't collect snowglobes, but didn't even have to think twice about buying it! If I find out anything more, I'll post it here.

That information is excellent, daber, but it would be even better if you could help me to get one (although i have been trying for near on three years with no luck yet.)

Still i'm one stage further, as until this morning i kept getting told that they didn't even exist!!!

Anyway, it may help a little more if you knew my situation.

I need the snowglobe as a gift for my sister.
She is an avid snowglobe collector and ever since she started collecting she has wanted a mary poppins one as that is her favorite disney movie.
Her birthday is in september (40) so hopefully, i will end my search this year and will be able to give her one.

daber, please let me know if you hear any more.

Many thanks once again

Carene,

I also have that snowglobe. DH gave it to me 2 or 3 Christmas' ago. He purchased it through the Disney Catalog.

There was one on ebay right before Christmas that sold for over $100. I believe that globe is now very sought after.

Sorry!:(

Hi everyone

Thanks for your help .......an update on my position so far...

I wasn't an e-bay user up until somebody asked. I am now.
but i'm still quite unfamiliar with how it works.
I have searched for the snowglobe, and there is none on e-bay at the moment.
Does anyone know the likelihood (sp) of one coming up soon???

Or is there a section where i can put down what i'm looking for??

I've also thought about trying to mail order from disney directly.
Do you think this is a good idea or do you think i should try gifts of a lifetime again?

thanks for all your help folks,

Carene

I also have the feed the birds snow globe that I ordered from the Disney catalog Christmas 2000 I know because I did a Cristmas job at the DS that year and was able to use my discount. Also got the Mary Poppins porcelin doll stands about 12 inch tall . I like her but she realy does not resemble Julie Andrews "Mary Poppins". The two piece's mean alot to me as my oldest brother (7 yrs older) took me to see Mary Poppins when it came out,and he had passed away two yrs before I got the snow globe and doll. So I get to remember the day we took the train into Boston to see Mary Poppins, it was so cold that day and my mom yell at my brother that he did not make sure I was dressed warm enough but I didn't care cause he and I hung out saw a awesome movie and had fun I was a special little sister for the day.So Mary Poppins is my favorite movie for a couple of reason and I hope you are able to find the snow globe for your sister. Put in a search for Dinsey , collectable, snow globes 'Mary Poppins and have them email you when anything new is added Good luck

What a lovely tale, Brenda. And thank you for the tip.

Still nothing on e-bay.
I'm not sure I am going to be able to get one, as i have mailed WDW merchandise, and they say that unfortunately they have no such item.

This is the same reply i got a few years ago, only now I know that this snowglobe has actually existed.

I understand that this Snowglobe now may be discountinued, but I am a little disappointed that when i first enquired about it, I was told that there was no such thing, when in fact there was.
