with 14 channels. It worked out ok for us...The main problem we had
was so many people use them! There were lots of people on the channels,
so it made it hard to get through sometimes. We used "code
names", and that helped. They have a 2 mile radius. All in all it did
help our parties find one another after splitting up.
I know you were looking for information about Kenwoods specifically,
thought I'd just let you know our experience in general, even if it is
a different brand. DH said the subchannels would've come in handy.
Maybe we could've found some less busy channels. Oh well.

Don't forget if you have the sub channels, you may have no one on the same channel but anyone on the main channel can still hear you -- so be careful about what you say.
Please remind kids, that if they hear someone else on the same channel, not to give them information. They need to remember they are talking to a stranger. I know I sound over protective, but better Safe than sorry.
