qvc's surprise cake pan

Hi everyone. I just bought from QVC the cakepan that you can put a surprise in the middle of the cake like ice cream or cream. does anyone have this pan and what other suggestions can you give me using this pan? My intention is to try and make an ice cream cake for my husband's b'day. I am going to make homemade ice cream for the middle of the cake. anyone do this?

I try to avoid QVC because I can always find tempting things to buy!
