I actually always wanted to marry in black but then when my DF proposed i just felt drawn to pink.

He was worried i would come in a shocking bright pink and he kept telling me i want a traditional dress!!

I think i have covered the dress ok with it being so pale that you can just about tell its pink!!

I'll update the page when I have found more things, this board is so inspirational

I love th dress very pretty.
My only comment is you may not want pink flowers if your having a pink dress.
In pictures and such they may get lost in all the pink of the dress.
But then again i havent seent he actual colors so it may not.
Just somthing to think about.

Thanks for all the positive comments.

I havent actually got my wedidng date yet but at least I can gather all the info for when I do!

I'm not sure what the cake is I found it on a website here in the UK and just loved it as its so different but after seeing all the cake pictures on the other thread I do love some of the disney ones.

I am just looking for mr BM dresses now, I want them in silver with pale pink sashes but cant seem to find anything like it. I want them to have tea lenght ones as the heat is going to hard for us in wedding attire so I dont want them to suffer as well. I would also like for them to be able to wear them again for christmas parties and things like that.

We are not too sure about my DF suit either weather to rent it here and fly it over or rent it in orlando, we have 2 best men and 2 dads and my DF in suits, so any ideas would be great. I have found a website that rents for 3 weeks for £80 per suit which is great and so cheap but i dont know if we can get a better deal in orlando

orangetiggs
12-13-2006, 05:19 PM
I got fabric swatches for my DF suits today and they are so nice.

We are having a black morning suit jacket with grey trousers, this will be the same for the groomsmen and the two fathers.

The dilemma we are having is what color wasitcoats and cravats. I suggested silver waistcoast and pink cravats but after seeing the fabrics I have suggested for my DF ivory waistcoat and pink cravat (my dress is ivory and pink) and for everyone else silver waistcoats and pink cravats as my bridesmaids are going to be in silver and pink.

What do you think? Any other suggestions would be good if any one has any. I will take pictures tomorrow and post the pics of the fabrics we like

Everything is so pretty and pink! I love pink! When are you thinking about your wedding? You're so decisive - I have scrapbook upon scrpabook of ideas and mood boards for different parts of my day and for the rehearsal dinner, and, and,..... I think I might be a little over-obsessed!

I would LOVE to see your veil - shell pink sounds delicious!

01-30-2007, 01:10 PM
we are hoping for oct 08 wedding at the pavillion and we have not yet decided on a reception but we want an illuminations party

Its such a pale pink, when you see it you think is that really pink and thats how pale my dress is so it goes well together

Raspberry Bubbles

It sounds beautiful - I can't wait to see your photos! We're hoping for August 2008 - it's so exciting!!!! Have you chosen your shoes yet?popcorn::

orangetiggs
01-30-2007, 01:18 PM
the pair i love are diana hassell and are £165, they are antique rose lace ones they are like ballet shoes as they are flat but I cannot spend that much on shoes!! I will wear thema gain I think as they are not white/ivory.

I'm having problems with my jewellery at the moment as I iedally want pink pearls (real ones not costume) and cant find any decent ones anywhere, I just came back from antigua and we went on a shopping trip and saw this great pendant but we didnt carry enough money with us as I thought I would not see anything so I'm upset I missed it

Raspberry Bubbles
01-30-2007, 01:25 PM
That is SO the way it happens - I also have regrets about things I*should* have bought at the time but for one reason or another didn't :(

Those shoes sound fantastic! I love ballet shoes - and I think on my wedding day I could EASILY justify an expensive pair!!!! I think you should get them, and have happy feet!!!

Have you found any invitations to co-ordinate with? I'm in the middle of searching for those at the moment, so I can be prepared to go as soon as I am booked!

orangetiggs
01-30-2007, 01:32 PM
I make wedding stationery as my business so i will desgin something nearer the time, I did disney engagement invites and also I did a disney newsletter that I sent to see how many people would be interested in joining us.

I think I will get the shoes as they will look fab with jeans as well, I just need to find a stockist near me! Or try and see if a pair comes up on ebay

Raspberry Bubbles
01-30-2007, 01:35 PM
Ahhhh - how fun! I would love to do that as a job! You must get super-busy!

I look forward to seeing your finished designs - the newsletter is a great idea - I should really send that out to our friends and family too.....!

Yes, get those shoes!!!!

ok I have seen some more things and wanted you thoughts
http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p118/orangetiggs/necklace.jpg

this necklace is leather and pearls and would be in ivory and pink

http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p118/orangetiggs/shoes.jpg

I LOVE these shoes but the are £165 which is around $300!!

http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p118/orangetiggs/tiara.jpg

this tiara maches the necklace and i thought it was a bit different

http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p118/orangetiggs/vintage_pearl_necklace_original.jpg

Or i have seen this range which is a bit more pretty that the other necklace

Let me know what you think and which necklace you prefer

Summer-Caitlin
02-15-2007, 05:26 AM
I love both necklaces to be honest, but the 1st one goes with the tiara more!

Btw, where did you find the website that rents suits for 3 weeks? I would love to rent DF's suit and £80 is a great price.

I love your dress and a light pink is beautiful. I think the shoes you have picked are great. I'm going with a slight heel just cause I'm not used to wearing flats, but I love the style you have chosen:goodvibes

Have you managed to find any bridesmaids dresses yet, silver and pink sounds lovely! I too love sash's so I know where you're coming from.;)

orangetiggs
02-15-2007, 05:40 AM
the second neckalce has a matching tiara as well and also bracelet so its just a matter of which set i like best i think.

the suits are from
http://www.formallyyours.co.uk/index.html

They do everything over the web and they will send you out samples of the material, they dont have the greatest of choice but they are the cheapest I have found, we were looking at a shop locally that wanted £300 per suit!! there is no way I'm paying that much we need 5 of them!! I just called this company and said we would need them for three weeks and he said that would not be a problem

I have seen bridesmaids dress from kanacca.com they are $99 each but I dont know how the quality is!! The dress I love from my girls is from dessy but the are £150 each, I dont mind spending the money but its alot for one day. They are going to be silver with pink sashs, but on that kanacca website there is a lovely dress that has the same bow and ribbon that i have around my waits on my dress so i might look at them to tie it all in.

That is such a good deal - you'll save loads and have the peace of mind that they the right fit etc before you go.

I make wedding stationery as my business so i will desgin something nearer the time, I did disney engagement invites and also I did a disney newsletter that I sent to see how many people would be interested in joining us.
Any chance of a look? pretty please!

The shoes are by diane hassell, i loved them becasue they are flat and I'm not very good with heels, I can also wear them again with jeans of something. I may get these as they are so nice.

Well I'm so excited today!! I finally booked our holiday to disney and honeymoon!! We are flying out on 28th aug 08 for 14 nights at the coronado springs resort and then flying to jamaica for the alone part of our honeymoon!

We are spending two weeks at disney with family! We are hoping to gget 2nd sept for the wedding.

I also got a bag for the wedding while in spain last week, its pink and covered with sequins and is small enough just for essentials like park passes etc.

Summer-Caitlin
05-30-2007, 12:41 PM
Congratulations on booking the honeymoon:thumbsup2 , it feels great to finally have it booked, like it's real or something. The time will fly by, I can't believe I am 11 weeks away, it's actually scary and exciting at the same time.

Jamaica sounds beautiful, I have always fancied a trip there. My DF compromised and gave in to the 3 night DCL to the Bahamas as I felt we would want some relaxation in the Caribbean, I mean after all it's so close;)

Out of curiosity, do you get free DDP next year?

My pet theory (among my many pet theories) is that you should try things at the tasting that sound good but that they might screw up. For instance, a steak is pretty much going to taste the same at any of the reception locations, but some fancy fish dish might turn out to be overcooked or bland or whatever. Same with chicken - it is really rare that you get non rubbery/dry chicken.

Since we are having brunch, and we pretty much know what scrambled eggs and bacon and Mickey waffles taste like, we used our tasting session to try out exotic/unusual things that we thought we might like to add to the menu. :thumbsup2

Hey,

I finally found your PJ! Where have you been hiding it?!

Wow, you are so close to your planning trip now, you must be getting excited. How long are you going for - a week or longer? I so wish we could afford to do this. Apparently our works syndicate has won two tenners on the lottery in the last few weeks, so perhaps we're lucky at the moment and might get a big win!

BTW, I love the Mickey Mosaic on your web page, it's fantastic!

Where is your wedding ring from? It's so pretty!

Yes its coming around so fast!! I am just going through a contract change and needing to pick the food we want to taste which is a nightmare!

We are only staying a week, Virgin done a good deal last year for 599 per person for pop century so we took advantage of the price and booked it up. We are planning on getting all the wedding stuff out the way the first few days and then having some fun!

I have emailed beaute speciale to book a trail so thats going to be good and we have ohanas booked to try it for our welcome dinner and its my birthday while we are there and pirate and princess party is on that night so I'm hoping to go to that and we have chef mickeys for breakfast as well!

We are also going to drive to the courthouse so we know where it is in sept!

I actually havent got that ring, I liked it but I purchased a ring with 10 diamonds channel set a bit like an eternity ring which is nice but DF is not convince so I might be a two wedding ring bride!!

Thanks, df and I did our web page, its not been updated in a while but we should do it soon.

Sounds like your going to try some good places to eat and have a lot of fun things planned already!

Can't wait to get back there!

I'm sure you'll have great fun tasting whatever you decide to go for, just remember that even though it might be stressful trying to pick things, you get to try some scrummy things for free once you're there!

I think we are going to try and order our licence by mail so we can spend more precious time in the parks (I am a terrible park fiend!) but my colleagues sister hired a limousine with champagne etc and they made a special thing out of the trip to the courthouse when they went to get their licence.

Can you remember where you found that first ring? I really do like it and haven't seen anything like that when I've been looking.
I suppose rather than seeing it online I need to find a shop that does it so I can try it on, so perhaps I should just keep looking. I'm not sure whether to just have a plain band or go for a bit more bling, so I really need to try things on so I can see how it works.

Oooh I'm so excited for you going soon, how many days? (or how many more sleeps as I like to count it when it gets to about the week to go mark?)!

orangetiggs
01-11-2008, 06:46 AM
iT WAS AROUND 2500 for that ring and it was in a local jewellers here. ferrot jacobs i think was the maker not sure on spelling!! I was not too fussed with having diamonds in my band but df wants a blingy one as my engagement ring is not overly flashy so he wants something better for my band

I think my ticker says something like 25 days!

I cant wait we havent been since 2005 and we normally go once a year but went to antigua last year for a group holiday with friends

meryll83
01-11-2008, 06:49 AM
I actually worry about having that much money on my finger, perhaps I'll go plain :rotfl:

01-11-2008, 07:07 AM
it will go so fast!! it has flown by since we first contacted them back in feb last year!! I'm now flying out there to plan it!!!

I cant wait to be honest, we have our laptop ready with ideas to take so I guess 25 days will just fly by now

meryll83
01-11-2008, 07:24 AM
My longest wait before was 381 days, but to be honest that did go buy pretty speedily, this wait just seems mammoth at the moment though!

We actually need to wait for the school term dates to come out before we definitely know what date the wedding will be, but they're due to come out in April I think, so hopefully that should coincide with the 18 month mark for contacting Disney too.

Ok so few updates,

As you know our planning session is booked for 5th feb, I booked to see peddles florist on the 6th feb just so we can compare to disney.

Skylarr was helpful and got us adrs for Ohanas and Boma so we can choose for our welcome dinner.

We have the church booked for our blessing on the 20th sept at 2:30 (this is the day after we fly home) and then we have our reception in a golf club here, we went last week to discuss food and timings so thats good.

I'm going to start my at home invites before christmas so I can get some sent out.

I have asked for the passporter book for christmas so hopefully i will get it!!

I have also started to print disney maps for everyones welcome folders. I will get maps in feb for everyones welcome bags but like the printed out ones.

I have ordered gift bags from ebay with googly eyes on them they are micket, goofy and donald bags so I just need a few more of them and they are sorted.

Havent thought about the contents yet but I'm sure I will.

I also won on ebay yesterday the bride and groom mickey ears so I'm pleased I have them

Sarah,

You're getting married on my date(well 14yrs ago), best wishes to you on your Planning trip.

We were just at the BC 2 weekends ago, kids had a 4 day weekend from school. I eyeballed Ariel's, decor not to my taste, you have to share the bathrooms with Cape May and the bar next door and it's right out the door from SAB. Saw 2 receptions there that weekend.

I love the Whitehall room, so unique, not some rectangular ballroom. Plus you have the choice of a plated dinner.

I ordered my bm dresses yesterday so they should be delievered 12th may

We are alos 15 less guests that have now pulled out! so we have around 16 confirmed now which I'm not at all happy with as we could have gone down the escape route but people said they wanted to come so we booked a wishes.

I know it can be changed but we are really liking what we have choosen and feel we shouldnt have to sacrifice the wedding we want!

Oh no i can not believe they have done that to you. I would be so cross. We were lucky everyone booked there holiday last sept (we get married 1st Oct 08) so we know they are coming at least. We have had two drop out but that has been a good thing really as it has saved us a little money.... Can disney change the wedding for you?

orangetiggs
02-28-2008, 09:32 AM
to be honest they could i think but we dont want to change it.

Most of them had booked! in like april last year when the prices were first released! and now they are all losing money

The others said they had booked a villa and then no flights have been booked etc.

Its been a nightmare few days and I'm hoping our BEO will be in this week!

Sorry to hear that some of your guests have changed their mind! I have a feeling that this might happen to me. After all the planning you should have the wedding that you want so don't change to an Escape. And you never know, if some of your guests are like mine, they will change their mind again!

Good news about Stan and getting your bridesmaids dresses!

Thats a shame people dropped out! We had 4 people do that and i was so disappointed - especially as at our engagement party they went on about how wonderful it would be and they would definately be there etc etc!

We ended up with 22 and in the end i think it worked out great! Like you said, we were happy that our closest friends and family were all there on our day and thats all that mattered!

Plus you'll have an amazing dvd from Stan to show all the people back home how wonderful your day was!

Hi Sarah,

Don't know if you've seen my PJ lately, but we're no converting from a Wishes to an Escape coz we're down on numbers too.

The fact that 15 people have dropped out so far along the line disturbs me though, if we lose that many later on, well, we wouldn't even be going if those were the numbers - we're reckoning on about 13 total at the moment including us!

I would love to have stayed with Wishes to get all the options and proper reception, but I just don't think we can justify the cost difference.
Good for you for sticking with your plans! :thumbsup2

I think our life is being made easier as we booked with Travel city and all got free disney dining which means all the evening meals (x5) that will be booked next month are free for everyone. We are having a meal at living seas the night before the wedding, fantsmic meal, hoop de doo, polynesian show and backyard BBQ all spead out over two weeks.
For my hen do us girlies are going to eat at the UK in Epcot, watch fireworks then off to pleasure Island.

I am so sorry to hear some of you are having problems. I am having the opposite problem. A friend of ours keeps inviting people we don't really know. At the moment we are waiting to find out if a friend of hers is coming. I am a little put out as there is no way i could not invite her the the wedding as i would feel so bad, forty of us having a fun day and her left all on her own but then its an extra $170 for us to pay out and a strangar at our wedding :confused3

My Df says our friend that has invited her has got to pay. I am not asking the stranger as she would feel horrible sat at meal thinking "they did not want me here so i had to pay" . Are you going back for your one year anniversary?

I'm hoping we could do this to get a bit more use out of the annual passes, and have free dining again (we had this last year and loved it , for us it would have worked out about the right price if we'd have paid to add it on so we wouldn't do it again unless it was free!)

Will have to see how the budget goes, but it'd seem a shame to waste those annual passes!

If it wasn't for those pesky in-laws and their teaching jobs meaning we can't go til late October and would've been going for a free dining timed holiday in a shot!;)

We have had a similar probelm. My DF brother's wife is a teacher but she is one of forty guests so we had to book outside of kids holidays as the prices were higher. All kids are missing school but the schools have been wonderful about it. DF bother and wife are not coming but Bridesmaid is teacher and she has got two weeks off no problem and paid, i am confused, it seems its because she works at a college but so does DF brother wife.....to be honest it sounds like we were cold and cruel to book during term time but we had a feeling they would not come, disney is not really their thing.

Oh my word!!! What IS it with people and a general lack of manners?! I would go absolutely ballistic if guests started inviting their friends to MY wedding left, right and centre!!! I'd also feel incredibly uncomfortable at the wedding of someone I didn't know!!

There's nowt queer as folk!!

I am glad you have said that, in was starting to think we were being tight.
I saw naughty friend brother in law today (who would share room with stranger as his holiday is a little expensive as he is in room on his own) and he was saying that stranger is just waiting for work to OK her holidays.....i just do not know what to do. I have met the stranger before at friends wedding and she seemed lovely but......really. This is not the first time this friend has asked someone to come with us. The last person she asked was her son's nursery teacher.......to be fair with it being a small world and all that we did know the girl, in fact she had been to wdw with us a couple of times when we were kids as my youngest sister was best friends with her butthat was like 8 years ago and my sister had moved away to wales since then.....really though how random is that!!!!::scared:

We have had a similar probelm. My DF brother's wife is a teacher but she is one of forty guests so we had to book outside of kids holidays as the prices were higher. All kids are missing school but the schools have been wonderful about it. DF bother and wife are not coming but Bridesmaid is teacher and she has got two weeks off no problem and paid, i am confused, it seems its because she works at a college but so does DF brother wife.....to be honest it sounds like we were cold and cruel to book during term time but we had a feeling they would not come, disney is not really their thing.
Maybe if people ask they will be granted leave in term time for things like weddings, but perhaps it's just that they don't like to ask coz they know it's outside of policy?
Doesn't hurt to ask I say - Si's mum has been given an extra week off so that she can have a 2 week holiday, his dad is going to ask for the same, but is leaving a while as there is a new principal etc, so he wants to let things setlle down first - but he has said that even if they say no he'll pull a sickie so he can do 2 weeks aswell!
We shudda just asked them both to pull a 2 week sickie during term time - problem solved! :rotfl:
If they weren't such important people (eg. not so close friends or something) we probably would have done term time anyway, but as they are family....

Thats brilliant, I haven't even talked floral yet, but I don't think we will be having much. Did you add chair covers etc to that?

Your BEO's are making me feel so much better, if mine come in over the top I will have to get you to work some magic on them :)

What did you decided to do about music for your pre-reception, reception? Also is the dessert party included in these costs?

orangetiggs
03-05-2008, 04:15 AM
yes chair covers and sash's, all centre pieces and dessert party, standard linens with silver runners, silver and pink napkins

All my floral is silk as well and I have 29 crystals in my flowers, my girls have wands

this was including bubbles but we got them at target for $3.99 and they want to charge $77 for 28 bubbles!

I have a phone meeting tomorrow to cut my budget down with my planner. We feel we havent cut anything we really wanted and I think we will do the $10k min and not go to over

B2B-2008
03-05-2008, 04:27 AM
I'm really impressed at the moment my workings out are coming in at $13000 without any chair covers etc. I really need to get this down I think our music choices are the problem and that we are having Mickey.

we are having an ipod so the set up in $250 but we are thinking of buying a speaker set here and taking that over with us to save the $250.

We are not having minnie or mickey so we dont have that. So i guess for the $10k min we dont really have that much!

Our food is quite expensive at 107pp without prereception and dessert party and cake! and we are having a beer and wine pacakge at 29.50 pp so our food and drink are our main costs really

orangetiggs
03-05-2008, 04:56 AM
chair covers are $8.50 , thats whats on our budget, we chose the standard white poly cotton with organza bows and the napkins are $.50 each and they are organze with a poly cotton underneath and tied with a silver ribbon so if we just went for standard white ones we would save a bit there

Welcome dinner nightmare!

we have organised a welcome dinner at chef mickeys 2 days before the wedding as a break the ice thing so everyone knows each other before the wedding and half our guests arent coming! i just think thats a bit rude really when its an hour out of there day to meet everyone!

i guess i'm being a bridezilla at the moment but it really wouldnt kill them to join us

You are definitely not being a bridezilla! I would think people would want to spend as much time with you as possible! :snooty:

On the big day everybody will probably be clamoring for your time!

We were thinking of having a Rehersal/Welcome party also (that we would pay for) but money wise I think what we will do is after the reheresal either do breakfast, lunch or dinner with the bridal party and immediate family - about 25 people - depending on what time we schedule our rehersal for. Our wedding is on a Monday and most people are coming in either Friday or Saturday.

We are going to let everyone know that on Saturday night we are going to go to the Scat Cat's Lounge at POFQ - which is one of our resorts in our block. Elliott Dyson performs there Wed. through Sat. nights from 9:00pm to midnight. It is a bar/lounge with some tables and chairs and Elliott plays great music. We go to see him whenever we are there and we already told him we will be down there for our wedding and we are going to bring a bunch of people to listen to him. As most people seem to be staying at POFQ for our wedding, we figured even if they are going out to dinner or will be in the parks that day they can stop by for a bit in the evening and listen to some great music and have a drink or two. This will be very informal so we do not need to make reservations - it will just be a stop by when you can type of thing.

ok so i have a phones session with my planner yesterday to discuss my huge budget! i hopefully have it under $10k now but who knows! we cut loads of stuff put we are not really missing anything which is good.

I have changed from cinderellas carriage to the landau coach as i saw this on one of stans previews and it looks so nice and its $1000 cheaper! always a good thing!

didnt really cut much else apart from the guests which make a big difference.

Going to get my supplies for my UK blessing invites on monday so I can start making them and getting them sent out which will be another thing off the list.

I was thinking about my hair over the past week and I heard that there was a bride on here that used a hair piece so I may try and find a good one to practice with and do that, my makeup i might learn to do myself or get my bm to do it and that would save a bit on haor and makeup. just thoughts at the moment but time is ticking so i have to start making decisions!

Wow we seem to have a lot in common.
I have the cinderella carridge booked and am changing to the landau just simply because we prefer it and the cost cutting does help.

I am having a hair peice. I will make it with my friend. I am super lucky as my best friend is a make up artist in London and has been a dancer all her life so she is amazing at doing "up" hair do's...bless her she is a star. I would send you a piccie of hair but i don't think i can just yet.

I have been making hair extensions and pieces for friends for years now. It really is so simple to do. If you have an idea of how you want your hair feel free to let me know and i will help as much as i can.

Oh and thank you so much for putting me i touch with Stan. I am hoping to meet up with him next week as leaving for planning session in the morning YIPPEE:banana:

I am excited now, only a few hours left at work. I have not had week off of work since last June so really looking forward to the break!!!

Are you having your hair up or down?
I would not order the hair over the internet as you need to get the clolour spot on so it matches yours. I suppose if you go to shop and get colour code then it would be ok to order on net.
I get all my hair from a West Indian lady in Leicester, she is a scream.:rotfl: There will be a lot of shops in your area i am sure. Its often know as "weave"

I am having my hair up quite high as my catherdral veil will be attached underneath it and my tiara sitting on top. The only way to describe the hair piece is that it is like a bun but a lot more intricate. My hair which is quite long will be put up in ponytail then squashed flat underneath the hair piece. The hair piece would be then pinned on my head so mega tidy and easy. I will make the hair piece before i leave.

yes i like the idea of just putting my hair up and then my veil is going under as well. I would like curls etc like barrel curls. Do you have a website where i can see they styles you do??

If you can help me thats great, on less thing to worry about and as you know what your doing i know I'm getting a good thing, otherwise i will get some bright pink thing from some market!!

I don't have any pics. What i do is see a celeb pic etc and then copy it. I have found this website really helpful http://theweddingveilshop.co.uk/id203.html I am having my hair like #700 through to #787. So when you see the big bun type thing on her head :rotfl: well i will make that bit and then pin it on my head.

If you find a pic you like send it through to me and i will see if i can help etc. Are you having someone do your hair out there as they should be able to work with "clip in" extensions (weaves) or like i say make yourself a hair piece.

Try the web page above for inspiration as it is a veil shop so perfect styles for us brides.

Hope that helps

That is lovely

I am guessing your hair is not long enough or maybe thick enough to do this?

Are you having someone do your hair for you?

If i was doing this i don't know that my hair would be thick enough so i would put my hair in a high ponytail then wrap the hair "weave" around the pony tail a few times securing with pins etc. From then it will be super easy to fold the hair into the barrel curls. I would use my own hair for the smaller curls in the middle and the longer weave for the bigger outside curls.

You would only need to by a short weave, i think the start around 12inch but you can of course cut them to make life easier.
Yes you could make a hair piece if you wanted but i think it would be just as easy to do as above.

sorry just noticed that you may not have a hairdresser, i must read slower :confused3

Any how, have a go doing it the way i have said with help. Its just all a matter of practive and good hairspray :rotfl:

Barrel curls are very easy to do you just need patience honey.

Don't know if it is something you may be interested but when i have had my hair like that for balls etc i usually get a knecklace pendant. Put a kirby grip through where the chain does and then pin it so it sits/hangs in the middle of my hair or maybe just above your veil I may do this as my veil comb is very plain. Lord knows where i get these weird ideas but i always have loads of compliments on this one. The pendant i use is prob about an inch big.....just an idea if you are like me and love the sparke!!!
Another idea is florists diamonte wired inside the barrel curls this also looks so nice.

October Bride
03-07-2008, 11:17 AM
My lord i would NOT be happy either.
You may well have enough hair honey.

Ok put your hair in high ponytail. Then you start with outside barrel curls so get about a 1 - 1.5 inch section of hair. Straighten and spray with hairspray this will give the the defined piece of hair and will make it earier to work with, if your hair is a little damp this may also help. Then wrap it round using your fingers and pin it in place (keep the picture in front of you). DO NOT worry about lose hairs you can fix them at the end. Just keep doing this until you get the desired effect. You just need to make sure each piece of hair is about the same size so you have the perfect polished look.
Once all this is done simply pinch and stray bits of hair and pin then inside the barrel so you can not see them or hold them in place with strong hairspray, shockwaves to a very good gel spray, nothing moves once that is sprayed on. :rotfl:
The picture below - well it looks like she has used all different size pieces of your hair and more important it does not look like your picture. One thing to remember you initial ponytail needs to be super tight so you so not get a sagging at the back of your head!!
Practice makes perfect.

i was thinking about using one of those doughnut things you cant get from boots thats like mesh and pinning to that to give some volume??

October Bride
03-07-2008, 11:33 AM
Yes but they will give you more of a bun shape as you pull ponytail through the middle of them. You could do your barrel curls from there but just make sure the doughnut is well hidden as they are not to pretty.

Honest i would just spend some time playing around. I am not a hairdresser i have just taught myself and now i do a few weddings a year (hair and makeup) Only for friends and friends of friends. Last summer i had a very upset party who hated what a hairdresser had done so i did my best with an hour to go!!!!!! and they luckily loved it......:dance3:

Its a good idea if possible to have mirror infront of and behind yourself so you can see what you are doing.

I hope my bumbling has helped!!!

Hi Sarah, it's a bit of a dilema re hair isn't it?!

I've found someone on ebay that is selling 3/4 wigs in exactly the style I want for my hair for about £20. I'm going to get one to make sure the style suits me and that it goes with my dress. I planned on getting hair extensions but if I can work with this wig I may use it instead. Here is what I want:

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b263/blondepuff/wedding%20pictures/Wig2.jpg

I've got a Maggie Sottero Capri Royale dress and an old colonial feel to the wedding so I think this will look really good.

Congrats on getting the costs down. It seems like a lot of money for Cindy's coach to go fromt he GF to the WP, and I think the landau is lovely.

Just caught up on your PJ, I would say keep Cinderella's Coach if its in the budget and you really want it. Hi. Is it correct that you are getting married september 2 at the Lower UK at Epcot? If I am wrong then completely ignore what I have to say. If that is correct, I am getting married that day at Epcot Germany. I checked the courthouse websites and both of the Disney recommended courthouses are closed on that Monday because of the Holiday. Have you found out otherwise or somewhere that is open? I ask because I would love to be able to avoid an extra trip to FL in the month or 2 prior, just to be able to save a little bit of money. I am really looking forward to your answer.

If those ears are the bride ones w/ the white bridal ears cap instead of the headband then the world is really a small place. I bid my heart out on those ears. I finally found mine on Craig's List. That is wonderful to see everything in such detail, and its sooooooooooooooo helpful

Thankyou

Three questions : Where are you having your reception?
: How many people fit in your motorcoach
: Where is the motor coach for ? (I mean whats the pick ups and drop offs?)

Thanks

LINZ :)

I Think it seats something like 47 we have 18! its picking us up at the grand taking us to epcot then dropping us back at coronado springs.

Lurky said that a return is cheaper so we are just taking everyone back to our hotel and then hopefully back to the hotel bar.

Everything looks great! Your floral BEO is giving me hope that is possible to not spend a fourtune on flowers. :wizard:

I can't wait to see pics of how it all works out. I am planning on having between 15 and 25 guests and right now I am debating between WHall, the Attic and AAP so I am trying to find as many pictures as I can of receptions at those places. Good thing I still have 2 years to go. I may never make up my mind.

Thanks for posting your budget. I have to ask - what is:

1 custom childrens meal @$57 = $72.85

That sounds high for a childrens meal - especially with the tax and tip.

my sister who is the only child is having chicken tenders as an entree, i cant remember the appertizer but she is the only one having the slipper dessert and she is also having the sorbet in a glass slipper. Thats why its so expensive

I have absolutely nothing constructive to say! But I did want to say I had a lot of fun reading your journal, and I just love how things are coming together (that dress is just gorgeous!).

The extra touches for your sister's meal are so cute. I know we just added the Mickey cakes for the 3 kids at our reception and they loved them!

I have my wedding ring which is so nice! its white gold with two line of diamonds on the outside and then brushed gold in the middle. df is the same without the diamonds.

I now have my comfy shows to wear after the ceremony! silver sketchers! cant wait to wear them! they will go great with my pink dress!

We thought we would have to cancel our at home reception due to lack of money but that is all sorted now ! thankfully so we are all back on track for that.

I have printed my invites for our disney wedding this weekend and was goin g to attempt them today but its now 6pm and my head is killing me so I think they can wait for another day!

Still trying to see if i cant cut anything else from the budget but i love everything we have! would like a 2rd tier to the cake but cant justify the extra money.

still thinking shall i have cindys carriage??

our and my dress DOESNT fit!!!! I started slimfast last week and it was awful so it didnt last the week but I lost 1lb so better than nothing! I'm starting weight watchers today to lose around 7-10lbs in the next 12 weeks!

ok so i have made some adr's. we haave never made them before and really just eat where ever we can but after some great tr i thought why not.

Friday 29th- sci fi diner 6.40pm
Sunday 31st – Chef Mickeys – welcome dinner
Monday 1st – Grand Floridian Café 1:40pm
Wednesday 3rd - Ohana’s –
Sunday 7th – Tusker House breakfast with Donald
Wednesday 10th – Le Cellier

so as you can see we are there for 14 nights but i have only booked a few as i dont want tot be too tied down.

I'm also worried about forgetting something when i start packing as well so i want to start a packing list.

I have emailed the gf cafe about personilised menus for our rehearsal lunch so lets hope they can do something for us.

I just read through your PJ and got myself caught up. Weight Watchers is great!! I joined and lost 6 pounds already and its only been 3 weeks. My DF also does Weight Watchers so its like a support. I am sure you can loose the weight in no time! :thumbsup2 I am trying to loose weight before my first dress fitting in August!!!

Everything is beautiful so far!!!!

I believe you have to have 15 people to be a group. I can't believe they won't make them for you anyways!

i know she just replied and said your not a group so you have to have the regualr menu and we dont personilise them!

I was like thanks for the pixie dust! I even said it was for our wedding rehearsal!

Its just our luck really.... I can see us going over there and not having any pixie dust! we have had so much bad luck this year it wouldnt surprise me!

i know this is going to ound bad but i'm so glad we stuck with a wishes wedding. I dont think i could handle the pressure of booking a recpetion restaurant! I'm so stressed now and really my planner is doing most of the work.

We were really thinking of changing it when our guest count went to 18 but we thought we may as well go for it!

I may see you at the grand then! what time is your reservation for?

Ummmm..... Ok here is a suggestion as far as GFC personalized menus.......

Make the reservation for 15 and get your personalized menus then OOPS on rehearsal day some of your guests just couldn't make it!!!!! BAM you get your menus!!! Evil? maybe but its your day!:lmao: :lmao:
