Discon - Day 1

Well the first Official day of discon is now over, I want to let you know how many wonderful people I met today. We had a great time.

It started out very early this morning with a Krispy kreme run with the gang. We met at Tubbies at the Dolphin resort for KK's and then headed over to the Y&BC for registration.

In the afternoon we met for the Akershus meet where we had a ride on the Maelstom before dinner. The picture below is of 14 Dissers crammed in the boat :D

Then after waiting for our checks we headed over to the Y&BC for our opening reception, and the pin meet. We finally got to see pete...he does exist and he gave a very moving speech about the DIS and the People who are part of it. We also got a look at the DIS for 2002...can't wait to see the new look.

I can't believe I won one of the door prizes, it is a very nice mickey snow globe. It will lokk great on my mantel at home. Below are picture from the Maelstrom Ride and the opening reception.

Well I have a 7am Character breakfast in the morning.....nite everyone.

Hey Pat, I can't see the pic! I want to see with my own eyes that Livia actually got on another boat ride after her Splash Mt. experience! :D

UPDATE: I couldn't see the pic when I clicked the thread, just the little red X, but when I posted & looked at my post, the pics were there. :confused: Sorry we didn't make it to the boat ride as I had planned, but we would have been unable to get to Dayna's Brown Derby meet in time if we rode Malestrom with you.

LOL :D Livia, I meant the Malestrom boat ride, not the Wonder! That one has a bit of a drop, too!
Seriously, I hope you've recovered from Splash! We took off in different directions & we didn't get to see you again after the ride, so I was hoping you had recovered! :D I want to know how many more times you & Tia went on Splash Mt! :D :D :D

Thanks Pat! Nice pictures. It was a pleasure meeting you and Roger. Although, I am still a little jealous about the snowglobe! I was sure it was mine! Oh well, I did win the Mickey flag pin. And I am very happy that you won the globe. You definately deserved it after all the hard work you put into the itinerary!:bounce:
