Try www.hotwire.com for rental cars

I just got a mid-size for $17.07 a day from www.hotwire.com (http://www.hotwire.com) which is a much cheaper rate than any other place that I tried. Even Priceline rejected my $17/day bid. What's nice about hotwire.com is they give you the full cost, including all taxes, before you commit, unlike Priceline when you find out afterwards that taxes are high, and Hotwire doesn't charge any fee for the service.

I just used them for my rental car because of your post!
We had reserved a car for 8 days (from ONT airport) using my AAA discount.
We are now paying only $30 more than Alamo and we will get what DH wanted in the first place -- an SUV. With Alamo, we were only getting a full size car.
I priced SUV rentals before reserving with Alamo and they were very high. (Approx $400)
The SUV rental we just got is through Budget.
I plan to use this web page to get our hotel room by the Wildlife Park!
