My family and I are leaving for wdw Dec.27th , we will be in the parks 28th-30th.
This is our first trip. My girls are 9 and 12. I have been studying and doing my homework on wdw, but I'm so nervous about everything. Any pointers will be appreciated. :confused3

1st welcome to the DIS.
Remember to go at a steady pace but not rush around and miss the wonderful place you are in.
Fastpass (make sure you always have at least one in hand) Start time is the real important one they really don't expire for most rides at the expire time.
Get to the parks at opening you can get a lot done while most sleep.
Set goals on whats most important for your family to see get them done then go for other things.

Don't be nervous! You'll have a great time. I think people get so caught up in the planning and feel that there are things they "have" to do. If you've done your basic research, you probably know what's really important to your family. But remember that you're going at a busy time and you'll have to go with the flow a lot of the time. Like an earlier poster said, get up early and try to hit the big things in the mornings. You're taking your girls at a great time - they're old enough to be able to do a lot of things and they're young enough to really take in all of the magic. Above all, slow down once in a while and look around. Enjoy yourself :)

I agree 100%. Especially with the "don't rush or you might miss some of the magic" part! Try to get to everything you and your family want to do and remember that there's always the next trip! :goodvibes

First of all, don't be so nervous.... You'll be at the Happiest Place on Earth, and it will be beautiful while you're there. I would definitely try to get to the parks early. You'll be able to do so much more in the morning. Pick a few things that you'd like to do/see each day -- things you'll be real dissappointed if you don't get to do it -- and concentrate on those things. It'll be great. Have fun and enjoy your family. There isn't much better than seeing the magic through the eyes of your kids -- esp. the fireworks. Watching our youngest dd see fireworks for the first time brought me AND my husband to tears.

Welcome to the boards. You'll have a wonderful trip. Just remember to be flexible, no matter how much planning you do something is bound to pop-up. Its best to take everything in stride.

The main one is to get to the parks at opening: 1) the opening ceremonies, especially at the Magic Kingdom, are fun; 2) the parks are less crowded first thing in the morning. We tend to go commando (meaning going all out), so we tend to open the parks, and leave at closing.
