We have a flight scheduled in Jan. 2002 with Sun Country From Milwaukee to Orlando. First Sun Country turned over leadership of the company to avoid bankruptcy (for now) and today I read that they have cancelled quite a few flights to various destinations. As of right now our flight is still ok, but........... What are the chances that they won't cancel our flight paths, or file for bankruptcy before January? Also, if they do cancel our flight or file for bankruptcy will we be able to get a refund? I have always preferred Midwest Express, but this was a quicky trip and Sun Country was much cheaper. Now I am wondering what I have done!!!!

When did they turn over leadership of the company? Who did they turn it over to?

I think if you charged your tickets you might be okay. I would check with your credit card co. Also sometimes other airlines will honor the tickets out of good faith.

Just recently (the last 2 months) I think the change occured. The LaMachia family turned it over to David Banmiller. They said they haven't made a profit since the LaMachia family bought it in 1998.

I think you'll be okay. Most of the airlines are cutting back flights that are not making them money. So are the charters like Apple and Funjet. We are you in Milwaukee? We are in Tosa.

I probably know you - I'm in there all the time. I just bought 20 mugs there the other day. I will look for your name the next time I am there.

Just thought I'd pop in here...I think the chances of SC cancelling your flights altogether are slim. Orlando is their most porfitagble flight...that's how they got to be so big in the charter business before they went public. Orlando will be the last flight path they drop.
And by the way, isn't Midwest Express is money trouble too? Or was it another airline here in the midwest that was flirting with bankruptcy?
