Hi there,

We got the dining plan for myself and DH. We have a 2 year old also and what I've been told (by WDW) is that he is free and didn't need to be on the dining plan. I think I read somewhere that he can eat from our plates and/or we can just pay cash for him off the childrens menu. Is this correct? For instance, if we are at a buffet, can he eat from our plates? All other places we will probably just order him his own meal.

I have a 2 year old also (who eats better than our 6 year old!) and was planning to do the same thing. I have read, but can't remember where to quote it, that under 3 can eat free off an adult plate at buffets. Also was just planning to share my meal or order her own at other restaurants. If anyone has more info, I would like to read it also.

Children under 3 are free at the buffets and you can get him his own plate of whatever he'd like to eat. At regular table service restaurants he can eat off your plate, or you are free to order and pay for whatever you like for him.

I've been to Disney twice with my DD (under 3) and used the dining plan. At buffets, I would get her a plate and she would eat for free. At CS & TS places, she would share from our meals. I would simply ask for an extra plate. With an app, entree and dessert for both DH, DS5 and I, we always had enough to feed her.

GREAT!! Thanks for your responses. Even if we have to buy him his own meal sometimes, it's still not every single one so that saves money. :thumbsup2

How does this work at family-style restaurants? I'm specifically wondering about WCC. My best guess is DH, myself and DS (child menu) will all get the skillet. Will we need to pay for a child's skillet meal (or other child meal) for 2 yr. old DD or can she share? Both kids eat like birds (not that that will matter to the restaurant), so at other non-buffet TS and all CS, she'll be sharing. thanks!

We'll be at DW with our 3 and a half year old, who sometimes only nibbles for meals. We will only be at the MK for one day and most likely spending most of the day around TT and Fantasyland. Any recommendations for lunch?

Thanks!

She can share the skillet with you - same applies to family-style restaurants. I believe they'll give you a small plate for her or she can eat off yours. Of course, you can choose to pay separately for a child's meal.

Hope this helps!

THe place by Its a small world is good for lunch. You can sit by the window and look down on the boats. My ds3 and dd2 loved that place plus it entertained them well. I think its cosmic rays near there that has a dino singing and playing on the piano that was another fav of my kids and trust me my kids don't sit long at all and I got to eat a whole lunch! Have fun.
