Hiya Everyone
Been looking for a Compact camera. Not sure if anyone has any experiance with either but i'd like your suggestions
Sony DSC-N2
Canon PowerShot G7
From what I hear Canon's are better. I've looked a the specs. Pretty similar expect the canon is abit bigger and heavier.

Here's a link to a camera review site,, just find your cameras and see what is said about them,, i find that this reviewer does a very good job at explaining what the average photo shooter needs/wants to know,

I have the N1 and it starts on E-bay later tonight.
Not sure of what changes they made but blurry pictures are all I get if anything is moving at all . I've tried every setting in every mode and just couldn't get it to work.
Extra features and Still shots are great but no good if I can't take action shots.
As for the Canon can't help you there but I did Just pick up a Lumix FX3 and what a difference it makes. I'll be happy to giveup the 2mp for a clear action shot.

Im no prince. I had the same problems. Did you have extreme trouble taking pictures in the dark aswell?
Anywho, if i didnt like the previous model, im quite sure i probs wont like its followup.
Lumix FX3 looks promising. The only drawback of the PowerShot is its quite big!

Are you sure that you're correct in the name of the Canon?
As far as I can tell, there's no such thing as a Powershot S7. There's a G7, and an SD700... I even looked at Canon's UK site as I see you're there, and there's nothing there. I think that the equivalent to the US "Elph" SD series is the Ixus series but it's hard to tell for sure.

As long as thing were not moving the flash would be Ok but like at night time in the dark it had trouble focusing on what to flash on.
I looked at the N2 at Bestbuy the other day and didn't really see that much of a difference.Nothing in the write up stating they fixed image stabile or anything.
And the Lumix is small smaller then the N1 I used it a bit yesterday at a Parade in front of my house on an overcast day and couldn't believe the difference. For what we need it just fits the bill . I have a highend Sony Camcord for the real stuff I want to keep.
