Who Inspires You?

Lately I've been trying to think of something to spark much needed conversation on the TB. This came to mind. Who inspires you? Can be a musician, someone you know, an artist, a sports figure, anyone.

Sho who are you inspired by?

My mom. Whether it's a concert, a school play, or the dream of valedictorian, she always tells me I can do it.

John Mayer inspires me. I love his music, and his outlook inside his music.

Jackie Kennedy and Princess Diana. Not only were the both of them beautiful, but Princess Di and Jackie Kennedy were, in my opinion, a good Princess and First Lady. They had brains and beauty. They both ended up leading what I would consider depressing lives outside of the spotlight, but they kept their heads held high.

And I respect them for that.

Who or what? I love any kind of motivational or inspiring writing. They're always great, along with music. And in terms of a person, I would have to say my parents and other various people like my LA teacher... My parents for the amount of effort they put into their lives to ensure a future in mine and my brothers. They love us no matter what we do, or what we say. It's hard to give tha kind of love.

Of course my parents, family and friends inspire me, but this is the wierdest of all: my ex.

He once told me something that changed my perspective on a certain subject that I'm not willing to talk about. And this was over a year after we broke up. And that inspired me to change my way of thinking. It's a bit strange, but it works for me.

Ellen DeGeneres, pure and simple. It's hard to be in show business period, let alone when you are so biased against because of a lifestyle. I really admire her courage and ability to stay strong.

I know that was total sarcasm, but you just made me think about something.



A fly lives for 72 hours. In that time period, it eats, sleeps, and reproduces. It lives its whole life in what is just three days for us. We spend a good deal of a housefly's whole life asleep.

Now if you believe that every single thing has a purpose, what is the housefly's purpose? How much can you really affect in three day's time?

James Morrison (a singer)

I love his voice but most importantly I love his lyrics-he has great lyrics but when he sings them he doesn't just sit there and let the notes come out of his mouth he shows so muchemotion and he makes them come alive and it made me realise there's so much more to a song than the tune. So yeah he inspires me though his lyrics and in his passion for music :)

and of course all my family inspire me just because they're well amazin :)

and I love my friends '*** they're such good friends to me :)

The person that inspires me the most is Yvette Narlock, she came to my school a while ago with the Safeteen Program. Safeteen teaches girls how to be assertive, confident about themselves and not ashamed to be a female. It also tells us to think for ourselves, and speak up. Yve taught our girls P.E. class that it's not always out fault and we don't have to say sorry all the time, and that women are equals to men.

After taking the two-block workshop, I felt so strong and independant, and I told myself that I would stand up for myself. Just today in P.E. a boy from the other class was calling out rude, sexist things to the girls and I got really angry. I told the teacher how he was harrassing us and she made him formally apologize to our entire class.

I have always been shy, and Yvette taught me to speak my mind. I feel more confident about myself and less selfconscious about how I look or sound to other people.

Well, even though John Mayer isn't really a rockstar, nor is he very famous, I'm just saying his music inspires me. It's just.. I dunno wise. Most of the songs off the album Contiuum really get to me. Like Stop This Train is a good one, and talks about the importance of getting used to change, of growing older. And The Heart Of Life talks about how even if everything in life is awful, it still means well. I dunno, it's a lot of those clichéd messages in better words that sound wiser.
