Hi everyone, I'm new to this section of the boards. I've lurked for a while, but never stayed long. I'm pretty overweight...about 90 lbs or so. I've struggled since I was 10 with my weight, I'm 24 now. At first I was overweight, then I became anorexic as a teenager and then with my pregnancies, came the extra weight again. I became rather sick about 2 1/2 years ago and lost 50 lbs in about 3 weeks, but once I got better it obviously all came back. I feel like I've tried everything and it's just gotten to the point that I just hate myself. I don't know who I am anymore. When I exercise it really upsets my stomach for days. I watch what I eat, the portions I eat. I'm a vegetarian that eats extremely healthful food nearly all the time. I just never lose any weight though. So I'm hoping that I can come here for support and ideas, because I am so tired of having spent the past 14 years of my life worrying about my weight in one way or another.

Nicole, :grouphug: I just wanted to encourage you and tell you that you can lose the weight you want. Have explored all types of evercise? I have found exercise to be the key to dropping the weight. I have recently lost 60 pounds and have 20 more to go but walking is my best tool. That's all I have done to this point but now I am going to have to try some toning exercise. Make small changes don't try anything dramatic and give yourself credit!!
Good luck on the journey!!

Welcome to WISH.
I think all of here on WISH know your struggles in one way, shape or form. Our struggles are probably not the same, but being overweight and needing to lose is the one thing most here have in common. After reading your post my thought was to ask if you have consulted a nutritionalist? He or she should be able to examine your lifestyle and give you support in guidance in what would work for you.
Good luck in your quest and may you find the assistance you need to help you get where you want to be.

I don't really have the money in order to see a nutritionist or try any of the weight loss places...weight watchers, jenny craig, so on. Seeing your signatures though are very encouraging though. Thank you for the support!

I haven't used any of the weight loss places I have just modified my eating habits. Don't get discourage I tried 2 or 3 different ways of eating before my losses started kicking in.

Hello Nicole!
I too found the programs too pricey, and follow a modified South Beach Diet and try to do 40 minutes of walking each day. I recently discover I was gluten intolerant, and have eliminated anything made with flour, such as breads and pasta. I also eliminated root veggies cuz of the sugar they have. That might be hard for you as a veggie. It has been hard for me, but I feel so much better, and the weight is down. I have about 30-40 more pounds to go, but have lost over 40. ( I was at 240+ when I started) I do have the support of my family, and that has made an amazing difference.
Any support I can give, I gladly offer. One thing I like is the exercise challenges. These mini goals have made a difference for me, if not in weight loss, but in getting to healthier me.
The very best of luck to you!
Wendy
