While we were at WDW last week, we did the Behind the Seeds tour at Epcot in the Land. We had FPs for Soarin' and were waiting for the time to begin, so we did the boat tour in the Land. At the end, my son asked if we could do the Behind the Seeds tour that they mentioned. So we signed up for the 1:30PM tour. We got a DVC discount of 15% and it was only about $9 a person. We headed off to eat our Thanksgiving dinner at the Yacht Club Galley, then returned for our tour.

It was really cool. We got to see how they grow the Mickey shaped pumpkins. We got to eat some of the little tomatoes from the tomato tree. Very good and very sweet. The little kids on the tour were given ladybugs to release on the tour. We saw the ways they combat bugs with other bugs. They showed us the alligators - all about 6 months old. When they hit 6' long, they get shipped out for other reasons (and not for placement in the BCV lagoon). It lasted about one and a half hours. Now my son needs to decide if he still wants to be a veterinarian or a botanist/horticulturist.

That's sounds like a really fun tour. How did you find about these different type of tours they offer. Do you sign up for it right at the Land? We're going at Easter I wonder if I could sign up ahead of time. I think my daughter would really enjoy that. Thanks for any info.

Wonderful! It's on my list of Must Dos, but I've never known exactly what it was about, thanks.

There is a desk to sign up for the tour right where you enter Soarin'. They have tours about every two hours or so.

It is a great tour. I went on it back in the days when it was a free tour.

My mother and I went last winter on the tour and paid for it , with DVC discount . I had thought that when I first took the tour years ago that I didn't pay for it . Mom called me crazy thanks for posting :thumbsup2

I loved the tour long enough to be fun , short enough not to bore me
