Microsoft Word's "Dictionary"

Did you know that Microsoft Word doesn't recognize the word "dreidel"? I was typing something that contained the word numerous times and it gave me a red underline (meaning that it was misspelled, for the two people who have never used Word before). Obviously, it wasn't misspelled, which means it wasn't in the Word dictionary. Go figure. :confused3

It's smart in some ways, but not all. Add it to your dictionary and you won't have that problem.

You can change the type of dictionary that Microsoft uses (e.g., technical recognizes more IT words, medical recoginize medical things), you can customize your dictionary by adding words, or telling it to ignore all caps. No, it's not going to have many cultural words. I bet Kwaanza isn't in there either. If you typed in sugarplum, it wouldn't recognize it. You have to add stuff all the time. Just be careful when you do, that you typed it right! I can't tell you how many times I've had to edit my custom dictionary because I added a misspelled word!
