I use an aerosol hair spray and was wondering 1) can I check it at all or will it result in my luggage being ripped open and searched and 2) is it safe as far as pressurizing, etc. in the belly of the plane. I hope this isn't a dumb question....

They will NOT let you take an aerosal can of hair spray in carry on luggage. The person in front of me at secutiry had hers confiscated. You can check it though.

DH was hand searched as he had a can of shaving cream in his carry on. I use pump hairspray, and had a small travel sized bottle, which they had no problem with.

I have taken hairspray on the plane. However, I am traveling with the small sample sizes so that may be the difference.
