We got this through Priceline for $50 per night 12/28 and 12/29 (pre-9/11). I know little about the hotel. Anyone stayed there before or have comments? Thanks.

It's a nice convention hotel -- absolutely huge. Too far from Disneyland to walk, because the Convention Center is between it and the parks, but they have transportation (once an hour, I believe). Parking is painfully high -- $18 for valet, $12 for self-parking, if memory serves.

Ouch. Thanks for warning me about the parking price. I was wondering about that.

We just returned from a thanksgiving stay at the Hilton.
$50 is an absolute deal. We had a 13th floor view of the parks and could watch fireworks
every night.
The shuttle runs to the park on the :15 and :45 of every hour and picks up on the :00 and
:30 every hour. so it goes 2x an hour. we never waited for the shuttle, they have a
few running.
Parking is $9.00 for self park and $14 for valet per day.
we were not charged any other fees. The rooms are decorated very nicely and clean.
We have stayed there 3 times and would recommend it to anyone.....
especially at $50 per night.;)

Oops, sorry about the misinformation about the parking fees at the Hilton.
I just stayed at the Anaheim Marriott ($33 + $5 bonus money through Priceline) and they did charge $18 for valet, $12 for self parking. Ouch. In the past the Hilton (which is right across the street) charged the same as the Marriott, but apparently not anymore.
Nice that you can get a view at the Hilton, too. The Marriott has no park views because the Hilton blocks it!

Mary,
I am almost positive that we paid more for parking during our last stay.
Maybe they lowered it.........:)

You can walk from the Hilton. We stayed at the Westcoast Anaheim and walked everyday. Walk towards Katella, use the crosswalk near the convention center. Enter the gate by the parking lot, and catch the tram. Worked great, the trams run very frequently and the walk isn't bad at all. The setup is designed for the walkers too, with all the conventions so close they need to make it easy for those walking.

I second Steve H's recommendation. This also works well if you plan to spend time in Downtown Disney after the parks close. Most shuttles stop running approximately 30 minutes after the park closes. The trams, historically one of the best rides in DL, seem to run forever.

Perfect. I would not have considered the tram as an option.

Thanks to Steve H and Uncle Buck for the "walking" / tram info. I just got this hotel from Priceline for $45 + bonus from 12/24 to 1/1/02. What a steal since the web rates were also great at $79. I'll be calling tomorrow to confirm and request a room view of the park. Any other tips on fast food eating in walking distance? We usually stay at Tropicana or one of the motels on Harbor near McD and IHOP.
Since we'll be able to walk to the parking tram to get to the park entrance I was thinking we could still go to IHOP by taking the tram and walking across the street. But, what's around the Hilton? I know 7-11 is around the corner but not sure if that's the same distance as walking to the tram (for snacks and late munchies). Does anyone know if the tram runs near Downtown Disney and the parking lot? Thanks for any info, we're real excited that we can stay at a 3* for way less then the 2* we've been staying at for the past decade+.
