Just a few questions...

We are going on the disney cruise week after next. When we get back, our plane does not leave until that evening and we were thinking about going to Seaworld for the day. After reading on here, I believe we have plenty of time to see most things in the park, but I do have a question. We were planning to "swim" with the dolphins in Cozumel. I say "swim" becuase it is more like stand in waist high water and let the dolphin kiss your cheek, and swim past you some and then it is over. This excursion is a LOT of money, and after reading on here, I am thinking that maybe that feeding and petting the dolphins might be just as pleasing as our so-called swim. Any insight would be appreciated.

Secondly, is Discovery Cove part of SeaWorld, in the same park? My impression is that it is not, but thought I would ask. We don't have enough time to do both parks per se, and Sea World is a must for my little one.

Discovery Cove is a park across the street from the entrance to Sea World. The swim with dolphins there is more of a swim than the one you describe at Cozumel. There is snorkeling and other things to do in that park so you really need a full day there.

SW is doable in a day but don't expect to be able to do everything. I am assuming you will have a rental rather than finding public transportation to the park. The shows are at set times so you have to plan around them. You should be able to get from the ship to SW by 10AM and if your plane doesn't leave till 6 or 7 see a couple shows and feed the dolphins etc.

Also, keep in mind that even though your ship may dock early in the morning, you may not be off until late morning. Depending on how long it takes to clear customs and what color luggage tag you have you may not be off the ship until 10:00 -11:00 a.m.. Our last cruise we didn't get off the ship until almost noon (Carnival). It took forever to clear customs and then we had the last color called. You're then 45 min to an hour from Orlando (assuming you're cruising from Port Canaveral) depending on traffic. If the ship offers it you might want to self-debark (carry all your own luggage off). I've used this option when I've had an early morning flight and it works great if you pack lightly. We were off the ship and on our way right after the ship cleared customs. Good luck!

Actually Disney cruises gets the passengers off pretty early and you should be in Orlando by 10 or 11 at latest-unless traffic problems or a hang up of some kind at the port.
