Just returned from 8 day trip

We just returned from our 8-day trip to visit our son, Kyle,CM with college program. My husband, 16 yr. old son & step-daughter, husband & 3 & 6 yr. old grandsons had a wonderful time. The weather was perfect, the crowds a little bigger than I expected. We were at Port Orleans for 8 nights. Our only nightmare was the trip down. We had to fly through Atlanta from Louisville, and left on Fri., the 16th when the Atlanta airport was closed because of the guy going back to retrieve his camera case. Oh well-we were supposed to arrive Fri. night at 8:30, arrived instead at Tampa (!) at 4:00 a.m. So we lost a day!

Hello fellow Kentuckian. Sorry to hear you lost a day.....did the airline compensate you in any way?

My husband was going to check on that today-we did check in at 7:30 a.m., so we did use our room-I just meant we lost a day at WDW really. We did have to rent a car in Tampa since we couldn't get a connecting flight to Orlando, we had to fly to Tampa; so they may reimburse for cost of car. We'll see !

Sorry to hear that you were one of those people at Atlanta during that time. The pictures on the news looked unbelievable as to the amount of people evacuated!!!:eek:

I am glad that you had a wonderful trip anyway.... traveling is so exhausting even without those suprises!!
