Mrs. Maggimus' Trip Report
Where Dreams really did come true...
(Sorry about the glare on the photos- it is because I didnt use my digital and had to scan them. They are brighter when scanned!)
November 12, 2006:
We woke up at 5 o'clock to make our 7am flight. We had Shane's brother take us to the airport from my moms house(which is 5 minutes away). We wanted to skip all of that unnecessary long term parking. We get to the airport and get our bags out of the car. Let me tell, the dress was heavy! Shane took 3 of our duffle bags and his tux while I had on my carry-on backpack and dress. I laid it sideways across my arms because I didn't want to drag it, and it is so much easier to carry this way! We got to the delta check-in and everything went smoothly. They oo'd and aww'd over us getting married and wanted to know what island we were going to :beach:. We said that there would be no island for us- we were going to Mickey Mouse's House :smickey:. They just couldnt believe it (it seems like an unreal dream to some). So we dropped off all the checkable luggage and go through the medal detectors. We had to take our shoes off (which is the part I hate) and I had to put my dress (In the bag) through the scanning belt. Luckily it didn't get very dirty or greasy. We get to the gate and I checked to make sure my AAA agent had applied our frequent flyer miles to this trip. It turned out she hadn't and the lady at the desk then noticed the dress. She told us that she wanted us to go ahead and board with zone 1 (the first to get on the plane). We had a seat at the gate and decided to rest a little (we are NOT morning people!) and talk about our excitement.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day1.jpg
We boarded the plane and the flight attendant took our dress and tux and put it in the captains closet (what there was of one). We were flying a VERY small direct flight, but anything was better than holding it the entire way. The flight attendant was so nice. She was excited because she was soon getting married on a cruise ship. As we pulled into the gate in Orlando she made an annoucement about our upcoming wedding and everyone applauded  .
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day12.jpg
We got off the plane and headed down the terminal (what there was of one) and headed to the monorail to take us to the Magical Express. Though we had road the ME before, it wasn't very well advertised as to which way to go when you got down the steps. A lot of people were following me (as if I knew where I was going) and I ended up leading us all out to the taxi cab's. :lmao: We turned around and got situated and checked in at the desk. The lady asked us if we wanted to check our bags early with the hotel for the trip back. We went and lined up for the Wilderness Lodge (the only people in line) and they put us on a bus with others going to other hotels. We watched the film on the bus and called all of our relatives to tell them we made it. They dropped off people at the Polynesian. Then they dropped off people at the Grand Floridian. Once we saw ourselves passing the WL a couple times, we started to wonder if he knew that we were going to the WL, especially since we were a last minute "throw us on whatever bus" kind of thing. So he mentioned that he was sorry and took us to the WL. They do not scan your ME tickets anymore like they used to, which also made me wonder if he even knew we were on the bus.
We got to the WL and were met by my lovely mom and dad. We checked in at the front desk. Shane, who has worked in sales all his life- a true haggler, noticed we hadn't got a room upgrade. He nicely states that he wondered if we could possibly get one considering we were getting married, etc (They are a sucker for that stuff!). She asked her manager and we ended up getting a better view, and it ended up that our room was ready!! We went ahead and put our bags up in the room and went back down to the Whispering Canyon Cafe and got a bite to eat for breakfast.

(this was the towel mickey that the maid made. I tried to piece if back together after my dad and Shane kinda moved it around and sat on it. HAD to get the picture though!)
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day13.jpg
(Did I mention we are not morning people??)
We didn't want the folks at WCC to know we were getting married just yet (we would be eating here a lot more and if you have ever ate there- you know why we wanted to keep it quiet). My mom and dad gave us the "just married" pins that they picked up for us. After that we decided to go over to the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot, this was the last day they were going to have it.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day14.jpg
My mom and dad had went the day before (they checked in a day before us) but hadnt made it around all of the countries. There was a lot of good food there (this ended up being our lunch for the day).

(The man who balances on the chairs)
We walked and walked and walked until my feet were hurting so bad I could barely stand. I thought I had brought the right type of shoes (my workout shoes)- Boy, was I wrong! They weren't as broken in as I thought. We ended up walking around the entire world showcase, and then did a couple of things at the front, and then headed back (it was almost dark). We rested in our room for a little bit and then decided to get a bite to eat downstairs at WCC (something easy and simple) before calling it a night.

November 13, 2006:
We woke up bright and early to get to the courthouse to get our marriage liscense. We called down to the front desk and had them make sure there would be a cab there. We walked out front and the bellman hailed the cab.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day220.jpg
He came up and was by no means from America and couldnt speak English. We tried talking to him but he wouldnt talk back. He kept looking every 5 seconds on the road, and then at the meter. At the road, and back at the meter. After a while Shane and I started wondering if we were getting ripped off. It was $2.00 as soon as you got in the cab, and then .25 for either every 1/8th of a mile or .30 seconds (whichever came first). Our tab once we got to the Osceola Court house ended up being about around $50.00 (we could have had a limo take us there, wait on us, and bring us back for less than we paid). We think he took us in circles for a little while, because the tab was so high!
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day213.jpg
(inside the cab)
We told the cab driver to go ahead and leave and we would call another cab.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day216.jpg
(Osceola Courthouse)
We walked into the courthouse and had to stand in line for the metal detectors. The guy was asking all the men to turn their pockets inside out (They dont ask of this where I come from). We walked upstairs and went into the room where you apply for the marriage liscense. It was very simple (In fact you can get a copy and already have it filled out online). We filled it out and the lady was so nice and polite! We made immediate friends out of her. I filled out the form myself and in a hurry, I mistakenly put the year I was born on Shane's DOB- but she was laughing it off and fixed it. We swore to everything being correct. And we were done. Very simple.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day215.jpg
She sent us to a lady in the hallway- very very polite- and had her call us a cab. She answered all of the telephones for the courthouse. Her phone was ringing non-stop so this very rough looking lady who was there for her court appearance decided to try and hand me her phone to call a cab. I politely refused. She then said if she was going towards Disney she would give us a ride. We again politely refused. He kept insisting that we use her phone, etc. We waited on the phones to stop ringing at the courthouse and the lady was so polite. She found us the best deal in the phone book. Allied Taxi Service- $25 dollars to Disney! She called them and they said it is an additional $9.00 for taxi's to get inside WDW so we agreed it was still cheaper than the previous taxi service, and jumped on it!
We went outside and waited on Allied Taxi Service. Took a few photos
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day218.jpg
and then this taxi pulls up. We were sure it couldnt be for us. He says "do you need a taxi".. and we told him we were waiting on Allied Taxi. He insisted that it was him. So we hopped in the car and got going.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day219.jpg
He told us that his wife worked for Disney and he could get us around the $9.00 fee for taxis if we would let him stop at his house and get the pass from his wife. We definately refused on that deal! We said we would pay the extra money- just take us straight to Disney. This guy was so nice. He said he normally doesnt talk much because he doesnt speak good English. He told us about his hometown in Mexico, and the area of Orlando, etc. SO so nice- but still not nice enough for him to take us to his house- somewhere in who knows where.
We got to the gate at Disney and the guy working the booth was Latino as well- so he waved him on in. It was now only going to cost us $25.00. We got back to WL and gave him $40.00, a generous tip, and said goodbye. Very nice guy.
We went to the Roaring Forks to get a bagel to munch on for breakfast and headed over to the Animal Kingdom to meet my parents...
To be continued...

Yay, you started your TR! Great so far :thumbsup2 By the way, I love your hair, it's so pretty! I usually have short hair and am in the process of growing it out for the wedding and it's driving me nuts! Can't wait to read more :)

We got to AK and called my mom.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day232.jpg
She said they were watching Festival of the Lion King so we decided to go over to the Greeting Trails and get a few photos with the characters (Makes for good scrapbooking).

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day223.jpg
Everyone saw our pins and went crazy. Cast members would jump out of hiding just to say congratulations. We hadn't even started wearing the hats yet and we had probobly heard congratulations over 100 times. The characters really made a spectacle out of the pins as well. We told them we were getting married at the boardwalk the following day and they just went crazy! The kids really had a time with it too!
We then headed over to get a bite to eat at Pizzafari. By far, IMHO, they have the best CS meal. Not even their pizza, but their Italian Sandwiches. It was really good, as you can see....
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day226.jpg
We stopped to watch a couple of people performing .....
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day227.jpg
....and then headed over to watch the trail runs of the Finding Nemo Musical. They havent officially opened this up to the public yet but are letting people watch them practice as though it is the real deal. We loved it.

You can't take flash photography during the show so I tried taking photos without the flash. The show was so good- I recommend it to all!
Afterwards we went through DinoLand and rode some rides.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/DinosaurRide.jpg
(Disney gets credit for this photo- We bought it because of the look on my face on the ride- haha :rotfl2: Im a nut- and I really was frightened).
We did a lot of looking at pins throughout the parks. We are Uncle Scrooge fanatics and will buy anything scrooge. They only had one pin they were selling but we tried to trade for as many as we could find. We did some of this in DinoLand USA.
My parents had done quite a bit that morning while waiting on us to come over, and Shane and I were ready to head back- so we all went back to the hotel and rested for a while, before heading over to MGM for Extra Magic Hours.
We met back up and got there. Let me say- MGM is FAR better looking at night than it is during the day. It is beautiful the way everything just shines at night.

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day236.jpg
We rode some rides, went through the stores, and looked for a place to eat. They didnt used to be so particular about only taking reservation guests only. They were down right rude to us at The Hollywood Brown Derby.
We went over to 50's Prime Time Cafe where everything is always very relaxed. Shane made mention that we were getting married the next day and wanted to eat there- but didnt have reservations. They were so nice, they brought us right in, sat us down- and we had the royal treatment. We had a great waitress who really did a great job. They had everyone singing to us and whatnot. Shane didnt eat his hash (not sure exactly what it was, but didnt look or taste appealing) so when she brought him out his "dessert" she put hash on the bottom and whip cream on the top. Haha- serves him right! She was a real joy though and so very nice. We had a great time there. We really appreciated them letting us in without reservations!
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day238.jpg
Afterwards we rode The Great Movie Ride, and in the midst of the short line- I felt very very sick. I ran to the bathroom and left everyone behind. I think all the eating out had caught up with me. We cook nearly every night at home, and when you arent used to eating like that- the results arent pleasing. I felt better after a while and returned. We left after the Great Movie ride because we all needed our beauty rest for the big day! :woohoo:

November 14, 2006:
This morning I woke up very relaxed, more-so than usual. I have to give many compliments to the new beds at the WL. They are so comfortable. Shane and I stayed together this night so we both woke up and went to meet our parents for an early breakfast and goodbye before we started getting ready for the wedding. We went down to the WCC (we ate here a lot out of convenience- especially when dealing with the wedding). I had to go down with literally horrible hair and no make-up (considering I was meeting Lisa there a little later). Our waiter made a big deal out of us getting married that day, and everyone was so nice. We had to stand up in front of the entire restaurant and toast. Very sweet. They brought us champagne and it was very nice to have some pre-event excitement.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day342.jpg
(Notice that we were coloring the little coloring sheets they gave us. I was so relaxed. I am normally a nervous wreck about everything. )
My parents went back upstairs and mom was getting her clothes to meet me in my room, while Shane came back up with me to get the tux and his other needed essentials. By that time Carolyn Allen with Carolyn Allens was coming in the room to steam the dress. Shane and I said goodbye and she immediately got started on the dress.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day344.jpg
She is so superb. She knows what she is doing and she does it well. She works from the moment she gets in the room and you hardly even know she is there. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE use her- you won't be disappointed!
About 2 minutes after Carolyn Allen got there, Lisa Pena and her assistant came on in. I had origionally had her coming at 9:30 with the wedding being at 1:00pm. I wanted to give her plenty enough time. She decided to move it to 10:30, said I wouldnt need that long. Once she got there she made the comment that she was pleased she didn't have to get up so early. She started doing my hair. I told her I wanted it up, with curls in the back that were held down with bobby pens- like the majority of the brides have on her website (we discussed this through e-mail also prior to her coming). She said she knew exactly what i was talking about.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Hair.jpg
(I wanted hair like this! Photo was taken directly from her site!- This is NOT me!)
First of all I want to say that Lisa is the nicest woman! I absolutely loved her. She has a great since of humor, very personable, and would probobly be a friend of mine if we were relatively close in age and location. Shes a super person!
So she starts doing my hair and I am turned away from the mirror (i cannot see what is going on). She starts using about a can of hairspray on my hair- which I think is great because I want that baby to stay put! After what seemed like not very long, she tells me to get up and turn around, she is finished. At this moment RANDY walks in to take pre-wedding photos. I, personally, hated my hair.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day345.jpg
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day347.jpg
(Please look at my hair, and the other girl in the photos hair - her assistant. Her assistant wasnt getting married that day! )
This wasnt one of those- "Please give me lots of compliments because I want you to tell me how great my hair was".. it was a "I hate my hair, it's too late to fix it. I have a can of hairspray so it would have to be washed, and Randy is here fixing to take photos- what the heck do I do." So I start thinking to myself that a good face of make-up and the veil should disguise the hair since it is too late to fix (completely not what I asked for). I, however, did not tell her how much I hated my hair. A mistake I should have made, though it was too late to do anything about. She begins my make-up. I am not turned near a mirror so I just think that she is very reliable when it comes to knowing skin tone and getting someones colors right, etc. Randy decides to go on down and take some photos of the boys getting ready (Dad and Shane) and is going to come right back up when he is finished. Randy showed up at 11:00ish (An hour before he was suppost to- So sweet of him). He said he finished what he was doing before and didn't mind shooting with me for an extra hour (I  Randy!).
Once Lisa is finished with the make-up I go look at it and it isnt my color of lipstick, and I had very little eye-makeup on. I wear thick eye-liner and almost have to have it to not make me look sick (you all saw my make-up'less picture above!). So I had just a minute to stair into the mirror and nearly cry before she started on my mom. I didn't know this at the time, but my hair was starting to fall out as Lisa was doing my make-up.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day348.jpg
I hope I am not going on-and on and offending anyone, these are just my feelings. I wore my hair like this in HS sometimes just on typical days. Okay, enough about that.
She did my moms make-up. My mom has curly hair so my mom did her own. My moms make-up looked good, I will say! Lisa leaves as soon as she is finished because she had to go meet someone in a different town to do a trial run. Randy is there with us and he is ready to take us for some photos.

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day354.jpg
(My dress -Carolyn did an awesome job!)
I tell Randy to give me a minute while I rant with my mom about my hair and makeup. I stay in the mirror for a while stairing and my start walking toward my mom. She is like "Lets take a photo" and as you can see in the next photo (which I would never post normally because I look mean, upset, not happy, and just plain not good) you can see my feelings. Im like "MMMOmmm.." (you all know the mom reaction im talking about.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day356.jpg
(I love Lisa! She is great. I want you all to take this experience as a grain of salt. I know others have stated opinions on their vendors and this is mine. I have seen nearly flawless reviews on her, this is why I chose her. I am not one to jump to complaints, im not hard to please- but this is my wedding and this just wasnt making me feel very pretty. I hope it doesnt reflect in Randy's photos).
To be continued... (More to come with Randy and his great photography, the limo, the wedding, and the after wedding. Also- tonight was our YOMD's DREAM!! Also I appologize because these are not good photos of me whatsoever. I would never post bad photos, I dont want you all to think I am snotty or anything, but I do, however, want to give an honest run of the mill experience with the vendors- something I looked for prior to my DFTW)

November 14, 2006 Continued...:
So Randy and I head outside of the Wilderness Lodge to take photos (Have I mentioned yet how much I love Randy? Everyone just fell in love with him!).
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day362.jpg
We took SOO many photos at the Lodge! I am really eager to find out how they turned out. He took me on top of the overlook (as seen in this photo at the top right)
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day361.jpg
At this location I dirtied up my dress REALLY good. It was filthy on the lower part near my feet (luckily only in the back where the small train was!). He is so artistic- he took poses I would have never thought to take. Everyone passing by was making the sweetest comments! The little girls would wave and their eyes would get all big :earseek: as though I was a Disney Princess or something. I would wave back and it really warmed my heart to see the little kids. The adults were so nice as well. The lifeguard went out of his way to get off the stand and come and tell me how nice I looked (Its little things like that that make you forget about the horrible hair experience). Randy said goodbye to us because he needed to get on over to Sea Breeze Point and take some photos of Shane and Rev Jack Day before we got there. While in the lobby waiting all of the front desk workers were so nice and saying the nicest things. One of the ladies wanted to take someone photos of me and mom together before getting in the limo.

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day365.jpg
Then the Limo arrived and we got on in (my nerves kicked in more during this time than any other time in the day!)
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day368.jpg
We got to the Boardwalk and Randy met us right away and was taking photos ASAP. FYI: The walk from the front of Boardwalk once you get outside to SBP is a dirty walk. DEFINATELY PICK YOUR DRESS UP HIGH! I found out later that they told Shane that they pick up brides on the golf cart sometimes- but I ended up walking it (and my dress shows it). He took photos and we laughed. I was met there by Juliana Acosta (The sweetest lady!). My WC Tanis couldnt make it. I met my dad at the end of the walkway and the wedding began.

It was perfect. I cannot recall a lot of details because it went by so fast. LOL.. I just kept noticing Shane had this eye booger in his eye that I told him he needed to get out earlier that morning when I saw him. It was somewhat of a comic relief for me. We both smiled and it was very cute. SBP didnt seem loud to me during the ceremony- but once we got back home and watched the video tape that we took, the boats were very loud. I didn't notice at the time but we had a huge audience by the end of the ceremony. Once we kissed and turned away, there was a huge clap and there was like 20 people standing behind the gazebo clapping. After all was said and done Rev. Jack toasted to us, Randy took a few shots, Mickey and Minnie came, more photos, etc. Mickey and Minnie only seemed to be there for what seemed like 15 minutes. There is no way they could have been there for 30. They gave us our gift, did a little dancing, took some photos and were gone as quick as they came!
In my opinion, if you are hiring Mickey and Minnie there for the experience, it wasn't worth it. Im sure it will be worth it for the photos though. They were very active and very nice- but $1100 for 30minutes is a lot.
My parents left because we still had a long time to take photos so they had the limo take them back to the hotel to change clothes and go on to the parks (this was their last day). Shane and I decided to take time (like others said) and atleast take a bite of the cake. It was soo good!! My parents had taken the rest of the cake back with them so we didnt have to carry it back on our own. Randy then left and went on over to the Grand Floridian to take some more photos. We waited on the limo for about 30 minutes to come back and get us. Juliana even had to call her office and get the limo's number to check on him. He had taken my parents back over 30 minutes earlier so he had been gone for an hour or so. We stood there and talked to Juliana for a while, so sweet! We were worried that once we finally did get to the GF that Randy would have given up on us. We were wrong! Randy always pulls through!! There he was. We took some more photos, and said goodbye. At the end of our meeting with Randy I mentioned how wonderful I thought he was and was so glad that I found this board or else I would have never heard of him. He had never heard of this board and didn't know that he was such a demand here. He started blushing and was really appreciative of this. After I got home I had an e-mail from Randy asking me to keep his name alive because that is what keeps him in business. I already know I dont need to do this because his work in itself keeps him going. Hes great, and Im not just saying so (And no, he doesnt read this board!).

Maggimus,
You looked beautiful...I know you weren't pleased with your hair and make-up, but you definately made a beautiful bride. Of course, I think you are a lovely girl without make-up. :) I plan tu use Carolyn for tuxes and steaming for my VR next Thanksgiving!
Your TR is coming along well, I've enjoyed reading it. Can't wait to hear more!

November 14, 2006 continued...:
We hung out with my parents for a while at the MK before heading over to the Polynesian to eat at O'hana's. We had reservations for 9:30pm. We ate breakfast that morning, and got a bite of cake at the wedding and a little snack afterwards, but we weren't looking forward to waiting until 9:30pm to eat. We decided to head over to the Polynesian at 7:30 to try and see if they could get us in sooner. The lady at the front was so nice- she saw our shirts, and said she would try to get us in sooner than our reservation time. We didnt wait 10 minutes until they were ready for us. We followed our seater and they sat us right beside the window. The moment we took our seats, Wishes started. They timed it perfect!! The lady up front had us timed to sit down right at the window as soon as wishes started so we could watch it. It was great! A very memorable moment I might add. We ate till we couldn't hold anymore. The dancing lady was asking who all was celebrating something. Birthdays after Birthdays, Anniversarys were mentioned... but Shane and I hate calling attention to ourselves. Too late- our waiters did it for us.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day388.jpg
They had the entire restaurant come around to our table- raise their glasses (or hands) and toast to us! So sweet!!
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day389.jpg
They then sang to us a hawaiian "marriage" song... so sweet... and everyone was so nice. Literally this trip just couldnt have gotten better. Everywhere we went at Disney we heard Congratulations, everywhere we ate (Just with the pins alone) we got such positive feedback, and many many times we heard cast members take ownership of Disney and say "Thank you so much for choosing Disney for your wedding". Thats AWESOME that people feel so great about the company they work for.
O'hana's gave us congratulations cupcakes with little disney candies on them- so cute!
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day386.jpg
I didn't eat mine because I was too busy enjoying the Bread Pudding (OMG SO GOOD!)
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/day387.jpg
When we were done- we all discussed how everything had turned out so picture perfect, there was nothing I would take back!
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day390.jpg
We left O'hanas at about 9:15pm. We were worried about how we were going to get from MK to the WL because the only way to get there is to take the boat - unless you go go the ticket and transportation center. The boats last departure is at 9:15pm and we were just leaving the restaurant then- we still had to wait on the monorail. We didnt get to the MK until just after 9:30pm. There was a boat docked at the MK so Shane ran full speed from the monorail to the place where you get on the boat. There were some of the employees who worked for the boats standing around talking. Shane told her that we really needed to get back to the WL, etc. My mom, dad, and I had just gotten to the place when I heard her say that we needed to act as though we were doing something else. She didnt want everyone getting off of the monorail to see us talking to her because they might want a ride as well. So i took some photos that didnt turn out (or else I would post them! haha). The electrical water show parade was playing and coming to an end by this time. So we watched the end of it. She then said come on, I'll have someone take you. Her name was Sue, and I believe she was the supervisor in this department. She noticed our shirts, my ear's etc. She said, "hold on I'll be right back". So we waited around thinking she was going to get someone to take us back to the Lodge. She goes and gets a polaroid camera, a bag with stuff in it, and a certificate. The asked us if our wedding was everything we ever dreamed it to be- and we said YES! Especially after O'hanas and everyone being so nice. As if it couldnt have gotten better... she said she wanted to award us with another dream. She was going to give us our own private boat, a bag full of goodies, and an unlimited amount of time on the water where our driver would take us whereever we wanted, however long we wanted, etc.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day391.jpg
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/YOMDCertificate4.jpg
The bag had a bunch of keepsakes in it for us to remember this event. She took a photo of us with her camera to ensure that we got a photo of this, and we then met the driver.
At this moment we were blushing from ear to ear- so excited as though things couldnt be any better. Literally- we were like wow- this is so romantic. We had the entire water to ourselves. No other boats, no people around, no nothing. So we get onboard and met Matt (driver)- the nicest guy!! He took us all around the water, and then he takes us over to the Electrical Light Parade and they start the parade from start to finish right in front of us- us on the water with them. It was perfect. Literally I almost cried it was just one of those magical moments that only Disney could pull off. It might not seem that much- but when you consider that you just got married at Disney, and dont things could get any better- there Disney is- going over the top! We were on the water for 30 minutes or so, and I think I saw my mom tear up a bit from being just so excited that our wedding had turned out to be so good. It was dark out- the lights were lit up around the open boat, the electrical light parade going on (also the song we used as we walked down the aisle together). Just a perfect ending to a perfect day!

Okay, first of all I know your hair and make-up weren't what you wanted, but Maggie, you looked beautiful! Don't get all biggie headed now, but you are so cute anyway, and you made a really, really beautiful bride! I love your veil, and your dress. Perfect. No BS, and I am *not* just being polite.
I love your TR, and thanks for the heads up on the dirty dress thing--you know I'll freak if my dress gets dirty.
And Maggie, I made ADRs at O'Hanas just so my DF can have the bread pudding--the guy is a serious bread pudding junkie! Glad to hear it is yummy.
You and Shane are a cute couple. Congratulations, and I am sooooo glad your wedding was all you hoped for--and more!!

I'm so glad you liked the attention you got from your buttons and shirts!
We live in Orlando, so we're at Downtown Disney and/or the parks all the time. So far I've seen 4 couples with buttons on and when I said congratulations, the first three couples gave me dirty looks! I was like, "wow, why would you wear the pins if you didn't want the attention??" I really thought maybe I was jinxed and was wishing couples congrats when they were having their first fight or something; lol!
But the last time we saw a couple, they smiled and blushed and said thanks and looked soooo happy. They were too cute. I, of course, assumed that the last couple was DISers and the others were not. :disrocks: Hee hee.
Congratulations, by the way!!

What a magical wedding you two had! I loved what you said about CMs taking responsibility for Disney, and thanking you. When I worked at Disney, there was truly a magic there that I cannot describe but it makes you hope that guests at Disney have the best possible experience! I don't think there is any other place in the world like it, IMHO.
I wish you two all the best, and thank you for sharing your story with us! As soon as Randy gets you your photos, you better post them :thumbsup2

You do look amazing! I'm so glad to hear that it went so well!
Also, I love the photo of you on Dinosaur. My boyfriend and I went on that ride last March, and our photo was of me completely cowering; I was ducked down and terrified looking! I wouldn't let him get the photo, too incriminating! I kind of regret that now, though. Oh well, I'm sure I'll be just as scared next time! ;)

Awesome trip report! I love seeing all the pictures as I read along. I'm going to be totally honest with you, if that hair situation happened to me I would have been ticked too!! Not because it looked terrible (because you looked fabulous, you're so naturally pretty,) but because it looked NOTHING like what you asked for. I'm glad for your honesty because I have been going back and forth about different cosmetologists and this helps. Thank you!!!

I love your trip report!!!!!!!!!! Congrats to you!!!
I love your hair in the first pic you posted and I think you made a BEAUTIFUL bride!!!
I feel so bad that you didn't love your hair. I am the same way and wouldn't have said anything, plus with the time crunch there wasn't much you could have done, but you still looked beautiful!
I am glad you liked Randy so much. I am going to use him as well (based on this board's reviews!)
I can't wait to read the rest of your report! My eyes filled up when you were describing all of the magical things that happened to you! I can't wait for my wedding!!!

Maggimus - thank you for sharing your TR with us. Your YOMD was so magical!!! Must have been so wonderful!!! I am booked with Lisa Pena for my hair and make-up as well as my mother, and 2 of my bridesmaids. I will make sure to speak up if I don't like what I see... but since I only have a vague idea of what I want, maybe it won't be so bad. I agree with everyone else on here... I think you looked beautiful. You were a stunning bride. Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip and see Randy's pics. Although, I probably won't get to see them til after we get back from our trip. I promise to write a TR. Just hope it can be as great as everyone else's. :goodvibes

Wow what a great trip report. You looked absolutely stunning.
It was so nice to read about your wonderful day on a cold, damp day in England. It really brought a smile to my face.

Thanks so much everyone for all the nice things that you each have said. I was really worried about posting about the hair incident on here, but I felt like I needed to.
Sefny- haha!! I was so scared on that Dinosaur ride at that part, and I dont really know why. We had to buy that photo because my reaction was hillarious!! Sometimes its good to have a good laugh at yourself, otherwise people like me would go crazy.
DIP626- That bouquet was Disney's Orange Calla Lilies. I couldnt have been more impressed. I absolutely loved them!! I hope yours end up being all you want and more!
SRUAlmn & VistaLeigh's- I am so glad that you were understanding of my hair/make-up incident. I have heard such wonderful wonderful things about Lisa- and she was a fantastic person. After all was said and done though I was happy to get out of my dress, brush my hair, and move forward. It was only a day, and though that day is filled with more pictures than you take in a lifetime- it will all work out. Im very pleased I paid for Randy- a superb photographer who can edit just about anything!!
Happylalagirl- I want to take a moment to say congratulations on all the many great things going on in your life right now, and I hope you have the best trip you can possibly imagine!! Disney does an over-the-top job and I wouldnt have changed things for the world, I know you wont either!! Have a wonderful trip and I cant wait to read your TR.
Springojoy- As for the shirts, I got them at disneyshopping.com. There was (I dont know that there is anymore) a place where you can order custom t-shirts. At one point they were on sale for $7.99 a shirt (i think some people got theirs for $5). I got some for my DH and I that had the mickey bride and groom and it said
Our Wedding in Walt Disney World
Shane & Maggie
November 14, 2006
I had my parents some that said
Shane & Maggie's wedding in walt disney world
Mother of the bride (Dads read Father of the Bride)
November 14, 2006
Same for his family.
You might be able to call Disney and see if they can still make them for you! GL!
I will be adding more TR soon. I have been so busy with getting ready for my reception this Saturday, paying bills, getting back into the normal swing of things, and working on this changing my name process (what a shananagens this has been!). Thanks everyone for hanging in there with me!

I'm so sorry it has taken me so long to get round to this trip report! I have been so busy organising Christmas I've hardly been on here at all. However I have now read your TR so far and am looking forward to reading the rest.
Maggimus, you looked absolutely beautiful on your Wedding Day :bride: I have heard wonderful reports about Lisa and the only reason I didn't choose her is because I love dark, dramatic make up. I, like you, require eye liner and I will not leave the house without it so I chose BeauteSpeciale, BUT personally I think you looked stunning. You are so cute and your glasses emphasise your eyes so I really think you looked great anyway! I totally understand how you felt though about your hair and make up, you envision a certain style and if you don't get what you asked for then tears normally follow. Trust me though, you really did look wonderful and I'm sure your pics turned out great.
Plus your dress was amazing, I liked it when I saw it from your trial pics, but it really suited you perfectly on the day, esp when you smiled ;) I am thinking of using Carolyn Allens now myself.
I am so glad you like Randy. I've booked him too and he just seems to get glowing reports from everyone. I can't wait to see your pics from him. Did you ask him to come to your hotel and take getting ready pics? I though of asking him to do that, but wondered if he would mind travelling back and forth.
So what did you think of SBP? I'm looking forward to seeing your pics of here. Is it everything you imagined it would be? Your day sounded truly magical and I think just getting the odd congratulations from cast members etc makes it all the more special.
Oooh and you have the same bouqet I want, the callalillies, aren't they the most beautiful flower ever? They have always been my favourite and always knew I wanted them as my wedding bouquet, I just haven't picked the color yet, but the orange looked beautiful, very bright and eye catching.
Awww, it makes me want my wedding to be sooner. Can I ask what flavor of cake you had Maggimus?
It sounds like Disney went out of their way to make your day truly special and I'm sure all of us future brides are eager to experience all they have to give ;) I love all your pics, I'm gonna make sure my mum takes loads of pics of us on the plane etc as I'm gonna need this for my huge trip report! Nice to hear that you wouldn't have changed much. I have really enjoyed reading your trip report so far. Good luck with the reception on Saturday, I hope you have a wonderfult time.

This morning we woke up for the first time, husband and wife. We went down to meet my parents to get breakfast. They were leaving later on to go back home. We all got on the boat to head over to the Magic Kingdom for a little while (since it was close) for them to get in some last minute fun before they had to leave. On the boat- this guy working...
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day496.jpg
...thought it would be funny if Shane wore my ears until we got to the MK. Shane, the good sport that he is, didn't mind a bit.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day495.jpg
(Shane's pen in hand working the soduku puzzle that comes in the USA Today that is delivered to the room. Shane was so excited about these because he works one everyday at work- and they had one at our room each day- so he didnt have to miss out on any of them)
As we got off the boat- the gentleman thanked Shane for being a good sport. Apprently some arent so willing to go with the flow.
Once we got to the Magic Kingdom we got on the train and headed over to Frontierland.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day497.jpg
There we had the opportunity to get a character photo or two..

We rode some rides, and just simply enjoyed our last minutes together before my parents had to head back to the resort to catch the Magical Express.
We all went to the Resort together to say goodbye, and for some reason- this was very hard for me. I mean, I have lived with Shane for 2+ years, we have taken many vacations alone, and with my family, and I have never really had a problem. But saying goodbye this time was just exceptionally emotional for me. Maybe it was the emotion of all of the events in one or something. I just couldnt keep myself from crying. We left them outside waiting on the Magical Express and headed back to the MK to get our mind off of things, and really begin our honeymoon.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day4109.jpg
We got to ride all of the rides my parents dont really enjoy... and I finally got to try a Dole Whip (VERY GOOD!!). As we were fixing to leave to call it a night- we heard something over the loud speaker. Shane, the goof-wad-harry that he is, says "The park must be closing"... but he turns around and there is Cinderellabration. Ofcourse... we COULD NOT miss this. SO we turned around and walked back up to the castle, and still managed to get great seats.

We then left the MK and went back to the resort. We grabbed a bite to eat and called it a day. I mean, we called it a honeymoon!

November 16, 2006:
This morning we woke up and got ready for our Honeymoon photo shoot. Let me just say that it was like a cold front had come in overnight. We were burning hot the previous day, and then we were bundling up. Out of nowhere it got really cold. DH almost had to breakdown and buy a sweatshirt.
At 10:30am was when I had wrote down for the photoshoot (from Rosie). We got to the MK...
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day5125.jpg
...walked into City Hall and the people at the desk looked at us with frustration. They said that the photographer had just left. We were like "What do you mean?".. apparently there was a mix up with the times, and they had 10:00am wrote down. So we were like, nevermind- we arent going to waste our time waiting on the photographer to get back and let it take time away from our Honeymoon. So we walked over to Exposition Hall and took our own photo shoot. Here are the results.. (Might not be done with a professional camera- but I guarantee we had a lot more fun!)

We decided that we had had enough of MK for this trip. We headed over to MGM for some daytime fun!
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day5128.jpg
Shane started working magic with this guy on the street. He looks so Las Vegas like and was really good. Him and Shane got a good laugh from one another..
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day5126.jpg
I recommend stopping and seeing this guy if you get the opportunity.
Shane just loves Lights, Motors, Action! So we watched that show and ate right there at the Studio Catering Co Flatbread Grill... they have the absolute best Chicken Ceasar Wraps..yum!
We then walked over to Indiana Jones and watched the Stunt Spectacular. Here we found a cast member with a Scrooge McDuck pen. We are HUGE Scrooge Collectors and you cannot hardly find anything Scrooge these days. We have about 8 or 9 pens, but they are very hard to find. Right now Disney is only selling 1.
Aww... then we went through shops and rode some rides before we could watch Beauty and the Beast. So sweet. Here are some photos from it...

(okay, okay- i love pictures!)
We then got a photo with an incredible chick-- no, not a girl that is incredible.. really... an incredibles girl!!
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day5129.jpg
Then it happened. One of our most memorable moments from the trip.......
We walked into this shop that someone had recommended us go to, to find a good Scrooge McDuck animated drawing from one of the Disney Artists. They were pretty pricey (30 or so dollars without it in the frame)... we kept looking at the styles of Scrooge paintings you can have made. We finally walked into this shop and this guy asked us what we were looking for (After we had been going through his books for a while).. we told him we loved Scrooge, but there just isn't much of him. We got to talking about where we were from (Tn) and he had mentioned that he goes to Gatlinburg/ Pigeon Forge a lot (where we are from). We continued to talk. He asked us our names, where we were staying, and room number. He wanted to get his card to us before we left (he didnt have one) so when he came to TN maybe we could meet up (Shane gave him his work number). SUPER nice gentleman. Well come to find out.... he was going to be doing something for us that we will never forget.
Let me skip ahead a little bit. We woke up the next morning with a voice message on our telephone. We had something for us at the front desk. Shane went to pick it up while I got ready... he came back and we opened it..
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/ScroogeDrawing.jpg
It was a gift!! He did this for us, free of charge. He was so nice to have done that. Jason Zucher will forever be a friend of ours pixiedust: The lady at the front told Shane that a gentleman had dropped this off and wanted her to give it to us. How nice that he hand delivered it!! More Disney magic!
After having met Jason, and before knowing what he was actually planning to do for us.. we decided to go on back to the hotel. We were very surprised to find the wilderness Lodge all decorated for Christmas. They had just put up the Christmas Decorations while we were at MGM!!

Thanks StephSFL- It was actually very relaxing. The wedding was the most stressful part. Once it was over, it was all uphill. DH doesnt like taking photos all the time like I do, but he is a good sport! DH didnt like the groom ears, we bought them but he didnt wear them- says it makes his ears look big :confused3 .

I know this is late, because I've been sooo behind reading everybody's Trip Reports, but I had to tell you....Congratulations!!!! You were beautiful on your wedding day!!! I'm so glad Carolyn Allen worked out well for you(I completely agree that she is great!) Sorry about Lisa, and I don't blame you a bit for posting the truth. That's while we're all here! What an amazing report and I have to echo other's comments regarding just how beautiful you looked, with and without the makeup :thumbsup2
Your trip report highlights just how much we all need this board! To be honest I have never been a "disney" person (I was slightly dragged to this location by the families) but after reading your report and viewing your pics online I am close to tears with excitement!
Thanks again and best of luck to you both!!!

A lot of my photos arent the best of either me or my DH... but it isnt about approval, its about helping each other out with each experience.. and bringing those experiences to life.

November 16, 2006: Continued...
After getting our photos taken in front of the tree and fireplace at the Wilderness Lodge, we hopped on a bus and headed to Downtown Disney. We got off on the second stop so that we could eat at Planet Hollywood. Here, we met another couple who sat right beside us who was honeymooning at Disney. They were so sweet. They were from Maryland... and drink Sweet Tea (hard to find Sweet Tea in Disney!). We enjoyed one anothers company while dealing with the horrible wait staff. I dont think our waiter came to our table one twice. It was the worst service we had ever had at Planet Hollywood... and DH and I go there everytime we are at Disney.
After that took the boat from Pleasure Island over to Marketplace. We went through all of our regular stores and finally to the Christmas Store. The Christmas store is always the final stop because that's where the most purchases take place. Here we eyeballed the place for Scrooge McDuck stuff. He is a Christmas character... but.. Disney for some reason doesn't produce his stuff anymore. We found one (1) Raddko Ornament that was Scrooge for $45.00. We couldnt pass it up!!
After leaving the Christmas store we stop, as we always do, for a photo opp.! Some really nice ladies took our photo... and we returned the favor.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day5143.jpg
Once we got back to the hotel... we hopped in bed early so that we would be well rested for our final full day at Disney.

November 17, 2006
This morning we woke up pretty early and headed over to the Animal Kingdom. We did a lot of animal gazing. We walked through the Oasis Exhibits and watched the Cast Members feed some of the animals. We were surprised to hear that not all of the animals in the exhibits were Disney owned. Apparently having those animals there brings in wild animals. People tend to think that they are Disney's animals behind the fence... but they arent. Disney doesn't feed these animals (especially the big wild birds..not little ones like you have outside of your house). But the cast member said that they don't seem to bother the other animals. Neat-o.
We went back to Kilimanjaro Safaris. Always a hit. We asked the CM if we could ride in the front (C'mon... we are babies at heart!). And he said if the car accomodated 2 front-seat drivers then yes. He noticed the buttons and then made it happen. We got our seats. This made for better photo taking. You know, we all have those photos of the side of someone elses arm, or head, and then a giraffe. Well.. this time we were the only seaters in our row... so there was no limbs, no nothing. Just great photos!! Our driver was a little corny but we didn't mind.

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day6151.jpg
(look at the lions legs up in the air sunbathing-:beach: haha)
After we got off the ride we headed to Pangani Forest Exploration Trail. I love the gorillas... they are my absolute favorite. They are just so human-like its unbelievable.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day6153.jpg
(reminds me of the movie Harry and the Henderson's...:lmao: )
Rafiki's Planet Watch was up next on the agenda. I hadn't been over there since AK first opened... we normally skip it. So Shane and I hopped on the train and headed over there. We saw Jiminy Cricket there.. and got our photo taken with him.. and went out to the Petting Zoo part. Those animals are hillarious!! We didn't stay very long... we were getting pretty hungry.
IMO, there is very little good food to be had at AK. Once youve ate the italian sandwich at Pizzafari.. you've had it all. So we headed over to Epcot for a late lunch and some rides.
Once we got to Epcot it was smooth sailing. We went back to the world showcase to find something good. We both had never ate at Germany, so decided to try out Biergarten Restaurant.
I, personally, will never eat there again. Everything tasted the same... and.. unless you are German, I dont see how you could eat 50million-some-odd sausages for a meal. Luckily they had macaroni and cheese!! We had another young couple sit by us who were so very sweet. They were just dating and from VA. They came down for a long weekend and the guy had never been to Disney before. It was his birthday too. Real nice people. We gave him the 411 on fun stuff to do:teacher: .
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day6155.jpg
We left there and decided to ride some rides. We road just about everything. The line for Test Track, as always, was backed up to the door. I feel as though this line is a little disorganized. They could have done better planning with it in my opinion. We wait for a good 20-30 minutes and get on. What a great ride. But theres no riding it again... :sad2: look at that line!
We headed to Innovations- we love that place. This is where we get to have a good time like the little kids. We road the segways...
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day6158.jpg
And by this time it was getting late and really really cold. We decided to call it a night and head back.
We took it the last sights and sounds of epcot as we officially said goodbye to our final Disney theme park. :wave2:
To be continued:... Our final moments at Disney... and we revisit Sea Breeze Point (photos included)....

November 18, 2006:
We barely got out of bed... we knew we had to leave, and pack, and all that other totally-not fun stuff to do. We got our things together.. and decided to head down to the lobby to give our things to concierge.
I started looking around at everything.. and there would be no way we would be able to take the rest of the bottom of our wedding cake home.. along with the top. So we decided to give it to the nice people downstairs at the Whispering Canyon Cafe, that made our trip so enjoyable. While Shane was dropping everything off with Concierge... I made my way to WCC. The girls there at the front were so appreciative. They were like "we will eat anything" and "thank you so so much". I felt better about doing that than ditching it in the garbage. Even though, I, personally, wouldnt have ate of someone elses cake (not knowing where it had been). But... Im glad someone could enjoy it.
Once everything was taken care of we caught the boat over to the MK... and then headed for the Boardwalk bus. We decided to go revisit the place that made all our dreams come true. I start shooting photos left and right.

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day7171.jpg
We get up to SBP... and theres Rev Jack Day!! He eagerly greeted us with a "grandfather hug" as he likes to call them.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day7173.jpg
He then immediately wanted to take our photo... so, ofcoarse we did!
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day7172.jpg
He wished us lots of luck on everything and we chatted for a moment. A wedding was about to begin!! Wow... I remember what that was like. Being at the Boardwalk again was very surreal. It brought everything back as if it was the day of our wedding again. We will revisit SBP everytime we come to Disney. And THISwill be our picture spot for years to come  .
After visiting we headed back toward the bus.... still taking photos of SBP from a distance...

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day7175.jpg
As we approached the bus stop the limo was pulling up. I do believe it was the limo dropping off the groom. How exciting. Our bus pulled up to take us back to the MK. We then hopped back over to the WL by boat... and went to eat.
We went back to WCC to eat... one, we were familiar, and two... it was quick and easy. All of the employees were so nice to us for having given them the rest of our cake. They all came up to our table saying "its the cake couple"..:thumbsup2 - hey... it works!! So we ate, and then sat outside for the magical express to come.
It turns out that even though we flown Delta... they wouldnt let us check in with our airline there. Apparently they were having some difficulties and Delta didnt update their system when they should have or something. So.. instead of checking our luggage with concierge like normal... and letting THEM get it to the airport and on the plane.... we had to haul it. Not good when you have a heavy dress, a tux, the top of a cake, tons of souveniers... bags, etc. (BTW- concierge has a refrigerator and freezer to store your cake in while you are there... which is a big help. We used it and everything was great).
We made it to the airport, and that was the end. Bye Bye Orlando. Until next time....
They wished us a congratulations on the flight home... so nice of them. We had a young girl sitting across the isle from us on the plane that was playing with her cell phone mid flight. Always freaks me and DH out. lol.. so DH leaned over and told her to turn it off...:sad2:
I dont think he wanted to risk anything. lol... That makes for a good laugh!!
We were home again... not at Mickey Mouse's house anymore.. .

November 15, 2006:
We all went to the Resort together to say goodbye, and for some reason- this was very hard for me. I mean, I have lived with Shane for 2+ years, we have taken many vacations alone, and with my family, and I have never really had a problem. But saying goodbye this time was just exceptionally emotional for me. Maybe it was the emotion of all of the events in one or something. I just couldnt keep myself from crying. We left them outside waiting on the Magical Express and headed back to the MK to get our mind off of things, and really begin our honeymoon.
I LOVE your trip report and your wedding. Your family and the wedding just sound perfect!! I can relate so much to your happiness and sadness in the event. But the quote above really struck me--I felt the same exact way when my family left. Like you, it wasn't new for me and dh to be alone on vacation, but I was SO sad and emotional when first my brother left and then later my parents. My sister and her dh had stayed off property and not really hung out with us much during the event so it wasn't as hard to say goodbye to them...but my brother and mom leaving really threw me into an emotional fit!!
Congrats--I love reading your posts!!

I am glad to know I wasnt alone. To this moment I really dont know why i felt that way. Sometimes I get this urge in me to call my parents... over and over again, as if something is wrong -- but knowing that nothing is. It was as if I didnt want my parents to leave, I wanted them to stay with the magic of it all. I cried a lot. I dont think DH understood very much. At one point during the hugs goodbye I started to cry, and it was just a surreal moment. I am really glad that my parents were there to share in the event. They will always be a huge part of me... and maybe thats what it symbolized... although im all grown up and apart from them... we will always be one big family.

They were from Maryland... and drink Sweet Tea (hard to find Sweet Tea in Disney!).
Maggimus, My husband was dying for a good sweet iced tea the last time we were in Walt Disney World and I just happened to be at the Writer's Stop in MGM buying an iced mocha when I got the idea to just buy a hot tea and make it iced for him. He bought our food at Pizza Planet and asked for a large cup of ice. I bought the hot tea, steeped it a few minutes longer than usual, added a little bit more sugar than usual and slapped it over the ice. Just between me and you, the prices are (for Disney) very good at the Writer's Stop (it's beside the Sci-Fi Drive-In).

Ahh... Sweet Tea. I tell ya what, we seriously looked high and low for that stuff in Disney. It was simply no where to be found. My mom was able to satisfy herself by sweetening non-sweetened tea. Are there a very limited amount of people who drink that stuff or something? Disney is great with pleasing just about everyone (though I am surprised about them accomodating vegetarians as little as they do)... but NO SWEET TEA??
Well... maybe one day they will catch up with the times...:cloud9:
CottontailCurl- We will definately try out that place next time. Hopefully soon (Im ready to go back!!)

Thanks PrincessDisneyBelle...
If you look close in that picture you can see just how dirty a Disney dress gets!! The entire bottom of my dress was black. Randy did great editing work and got it removed from most photos... but this one shows it a little. I kinda like it- reminds me of that part of the experience.

Yeah I can see, I was just showing my Mom that. We are gonna have a layer of netting put under my train to help with the dirt.

I wish I had thought of that, seriously!! Let me know how it works out. My dress had the really thick bushy slip (which I thought would take a lot of the dirt) but... I went against having a bustle (something I wished I had got). I figured it would be so few of us, and we wouldnt have a real reception there... so no need. But.. I didnt consider all of the photo taking. Nor did I take my dress into consideration as I made plans with Randy to shoot at all the 500-trillion-something spots.
Please let me know how that works out for you!! I wish you the best of luck with it.

I love your photos Maggimus! As much as I'd love to book Randy for a photo shoot, I don't think it's a good idea in our case. We're taking care of everything ourselves financially and I'd like to keep things are streamlined as possible!
I hope your at-home reception went great! Your TR definitely got me excited for our upcoming intimate wedding at WL! I can't believe we've got a little over a month left . . . it won't go fast enough! :goodvibes

afinter...
WL??:woohoo: That makes me excited for you! I think the WL is one of the most romantic spots in WDW. Nothing like cozy'n up to one another in such a great setting!!
I can understand about pinching pennys as much as possible! My DH and I paid for our entire things ourselves as well. We found Randy to be more expensive.. 600-something more dollars than we would spend otherwise. If you do change your mind and go with Randy, you certainly wont be disappointed. He does ask for half payment at a time, so it isnt a big chunk all at once (which can be nice). We opted out of getting Stan at STVS to do our videography (although I really wanted it..)... but for that price, my parents could buy a brand new hi-tech video camera that they could keep- and just tape it themselves. So we did that. I wouldn't take my photos back for the world.
Disney does a fabulous job on photography (heck... its disney- they make sure they have nothing but professionals doing EVERYTHING!). Regaurdless of your vendors... things will be perfect. You are getting so close to your big day. I absolutely cannot wait to hear how everything goes. Take TONS and TONS of photographs of everything (EVERYTHING)... because you will want to look back and remember it all. The entire wedding & honeymoon flies by. Then all you can do is go home, write a TR.. and relive your experience here on the DISBoards (and all that mushy gushy marriage stuff..). :cheer2:

Haha . . . I just read this after I announced that my DF influenced my decision enough to book Randy! :rotfl:
I can't argue with my DF on wanting such beautiful photos, in fact I secretly wanted them! I'm just glad my DF saw Randy's work and wanted him to photograph us. We discussed the matter and decided to let go of a few "extras" that we were going to enjoy down in Disney, but we decided the photos would be everlasting and well worth it! I suppose it was a little bit of pixie dust at home! pixiedust:

I just love your TR! You looked beautiful!! All of your pictures turned out wonderful & I love the pic of you on Dinosaur because I am terrified of the ending of that ride, we always buy the picture because my face is buried in DBF's chest haha. :lmao: Randy's photos turned out wonderful as well, your day seemed so romantic and all the extra magical touches that you experienced are something only Disney can do. Thank you for sharing your special day! :goodvibes

Maggimus,
Beautiful trip report, that must have taken a lot of time to do. I wanted to let you know that due to your pictures I am booking Randy. We have a meeting in 2 weeks. I am very excited!
I am getting married Nov. 17th of this year...around the same days you were there and I have a few questions: Were there a lot of Christmas decorations and was Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party going on while you were there?
What kind of room did you stay in at the Wilderness??? Was it really romantic??
THANKS AGAIN!!!!!! I LOVE YOUR PICS AND COMMENTS!!!

What kind of room did you stay in at the Wilderness??? Was it really romantic??
THANKS AGAIN!!!!!! I LOVE YOUR PICS AND COMMENTS!!!
First of all I want to say that I am so flattered that you are booking Randy due to my photos (Tell him that... my name is maggie... he gets so flattered when you tell him that his photos are good.. sometimes its good to give credit where it is due- ya know?). I cannot get enough of Randy- seriously!! I wish I could call him everyday and tell him how awesome his work was. It was actually because of Tchan's photos from him that made me want to book. I let him know that for sure. I love to brag on people when they deserve it. I think he could take awesome photographs of pigs... or anything that isnt flattering in and of itself.
Also- I love the time of year you have chosen. It was truely warm then, but not hot (As shown in my TR.. we wore both shorts and jeans). The Christmas decorations were up and going up more and more while we were there. All the trees were up- they were doing the osbornes lights, and the hotels were decorated. Gingerbreads were up at the some hotels as well.
Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party was not going on while we were there. Im sorry. But the decorations were so amazing. They put the hotel decorations up at the wilderness lodge on the 16th, and I cried because my parents left out that morning... and they were so beautiful.. I wished they could have seen them.
The wilderness lodge is so romantic. I have stayed at a whole lot of the resorts... been going since I was a baby. None compare to the WL. The Romance there is just unbelievable. You can feel it in the air. The warmth of the fireplace.... the landscaping, the log home feel of it.... its as if you are all alone, at home, cuddled up all the time. Truely makes me wish I was there right now.
We booked a standard room.... but heres a tip-- if they dont upgrade you automatically out of kindness... make them highly aware that its your honeymoon or wedding... and DH even said he "heard" we might get a free upgrade to them... lol and lo and behold-- a room with a great view. We could see the pool. But the pool wasnt so great, it was the electric water parade. I also think this adds to the romance. You can go out on the beach... just the two of you (not ever crowded... and November at Disney wasnt crowded at all.. we walked onto every ride-- especially during that week)... lay on the beach, watch the electrical water parade with the chilly wind in your hair.. snuggling-- aww  . We were fortunate enough to get a boat ride and see it... which was extra special. Disney is so romantic and special in its own unique way. Its almost like its such an innocent romance that you feel as if just by being there... and doing it that way... you are doing something right.
I cant tell you what a great trip you will have... you wont even believe me if i told you. I cannot wait until you get to experience first hand the joy of not only being married to the person you love, but the magic of disney!!
Thank you everyone else for the great comments. They really mean a lot.

Yeah my makeup and hair werent my favorite... but, ya live and learn, ya know? A small quaint wedding was much better for us than the traditional family hoopla! We did have our reception once we got home-- which im glad we did. I liked including those who wanted to be included.
HAHA... we practically live in west knoxville!! Im from Maryville-- but we stayed in Seymour because thats where my DH is raised. He actually works at the Ford store in Sevierville (McNelly-whaley). His dad was the GM at Harry Lane for 20 some-odd years... now at Ted Russell Nissan.

oh maggie.. I so enjoyed your report and photos.. btw, the photos are EXCELLENT!! Now I'm thinking about getting Randy as well.. I especially loved the more "artsy" ones like with you two holding hands and the shadows on the ground and the one in the grass. So different and unique!
You're such a cute couple too and your wedding sounds a lot how I want mine.... SBP then dinner that night maybe at Ohanas .. I'm still deciding on the dinner location though.

Aww- so sweet of you to say!! If you have any questions let me know!!
I want to make sure you know how AMAZING Randy is. DH and I didnt want to splurge on very much... other than Mickey and Minnie ofcourse. After seeing photos of Randys work-- I told him that the photos are the only thing we can keep forever (other than the memories)... and I will never regret the extra money spent on that. If you think about it-- its actually cheaper to use Randy. $600 some-odd dollars for 3 hours of photographer (split any way you want)... and you own the copywrite (the copywrite alone is worth that!). Photos are expensive... and many couples make reprints.. which some can cost 50 and 70 dollars a photo. So... Randy is definately worth it-- even just the opportunity in meeting him (He is a wonderful person!).
Im glad you enjoyed my TR. PM me if I can help you get hooked up with Randy!!

Aww thank you so much for the compliment. I found my dress online and went to the store to try it on... i knew after it was on me that it was the one... I tried on 2 more dresses, but told the lady that i was wasting her time... I knew the first dress was meant for me.
I am so glad you booked Randy. Seriously, I dont get paid to talk Randy up-- I just like seeing people make good strong decisions about their wedding. This is definately one you will be glad you will have made. At first I didnt realize how important the photos were... especially having a good photographer who doesnt take "point and click" photos!!
You wont be disappointed. Once you are done honeymooning... I hope you will come back here and give us a TR.. with Randy Photos!!
Thanks, and Congratuations again!

Okay Maggimus, I've finally booked Randy. I wanted to say that a week ago, but it took his wife a while to get back to me. I still haven't chatted with Randy himself. If it wasn't for the rave reviews about his work on this board - especially from you - I may not have booked him. I can appreciate that he's busy, but I've got to say that good customer service is important to me. I wasn't feeling good vibes when info requests and phone calls went unanswered for days. He stays very busy but is very very good to all of his clients. Thanks for reading! Yeah, I was a little afraid to put my honest feelings about them, especially Lisa-- but then I remember how glad I was for those who told me their honest opinions as well (we all want our wedding day to go smoothly).
Randy is my favorite vendor-- just because he made everything more special. I didnt even come into contact or hear from my WC (other than me calling DFTW on my own) until the actual ceremony. Randy acted as though he was my WC half the time, and knew exactly what to do because I was so clueless (Hey, most of us have never been married before-- we dont know everything to do!). If it wasnt for Randy my stress level would have been higher than you can imagine. He doesnt just do photography-- hes more of a support group.

Oh Maggimus, I never realised that there was hardly any difference in your pic with or without make up (vendor). The pic with the make up you did yourself is much better. The hair pic you had was really nice and elegant, it would have been wonderful if you could have had your hair like that.
Never mind though, you still looked beautiful on your wedding day and you married the one you love and I'm sure he too thought you looked beautiful and that is what counts:)

I also meant to ask you Maggimus, did Randy take those pics of you at The Grand Floridian? Tanis was my coordinator too-- and she told me the same thing. The day before the wedding I spoke with Randy and we went over the last minute details of the photography. He was going to come early and take photos (he came earlier than we planned though) at the WL, then we would go over to the ceremony at SBP and take photos, and then we would go to the GF and take photos. He stopped me there and told me to call Tanis and see if anyone would be at the GF that day for their ceremony.
I phoned Tanis and she said she did have one booked and they would probobly be taking pictures at the time we would want to be there. I called Randy back and told him-- and he told me that we would just mysteriously work around them.
Disney has a policy that no two brides see one another on their wedding day in their dress (I suppose its so they make sure that you feel like you are the
"only bride" that day). So Randy and I took our photos at WL, and SBP-- and then headed over to the GF. Before we would move from one spot to another-- Randy would kinda have us stay in place and he would kinda peak around corners to make sure the other wasnt around. This worked out great-- and we never did end up seeing the other bride (just the groomsman-- and you think those men really cared?).
Its still do'able... you will just have to take outside photos while the other bride is inside at the staircase-- and maybe hide a couple of times. If you dont mind that- I dont think it will be a problem. We never told Tanis that we were going to go ahead with the plans at the GF-- heck Disney says you can have your dress on at the resorts (it doesnt restrict you). We hid and covered our tracks more out respect for the other bride (who hadnt gotten married yet) and for Randy (his job and the connection with Disney).
GL!! :goodvibes Its going to be here before you know it!

You don't have to apologize on his behalf, but maybe I should apologize to you that I've withdrawn from hiring Randy's services. I just decided that today after cluing in that he's obviously become too busy to offer the proper attention to his clients like maybe you had with him.
Originally, I was told I needed to put down a 50% deposit on my photography package. He or his office charged me the FULL amount for my photography package - TWICE! - which ran my credit card to the limit and all further transactions fail, including pre-authorized payments. I couldn't buy anything this weekend and only found out what happened after I called my credit card company. While I know Randy will refund at least one full payment, I'd still lose about 7% of my money plus penalties from missed bill payments.
I'm Canadian, so my credit card company converts my payment into U.S. dollars at their Buy exchange rate and I pay a 2.5% conversion fee on top of that. When I get a refund, they convert it from U.S. dollars back into Canadian dollars at their Sell exchange rate. The difference between the buy/sell is about 5%, plus the 2.5% foreign conversion fee. That's quite a few dollars for their mistake. :headache:

ChocolateMouse - I'm sorry about the delay and the problems you have had with Randy. Like Maggimus said, it is not like him at all. I hired him based on tchan's photos also and I have always had great service from him. He does sometimes take a little while to respond to emails, but he always does.
Originally it was just going to be my fiance and I for the wedding and Randy knocked off $100 from the Intimate Package because of this.
He has always been more than accomodating. It makes me wonder however if he maybe has someone other than his wife working for him in the office:confused:
I am still waiting on my receipt as I paid the full price(my choice) in November and I was assured this would be posted out to me, I'm not bothered though as he sent me an email and I have my credit card receipt. I have sent an email about 4 days ago and am still waiting on a reply, but I know how extremely busy he is, so I'll give it some time.
I am really sorry that it hasn't worked out for you and I hope you find another photographer just as great for your wedding:thumbsup2

:headache:
No need to appologize to me. That sure doesnt sound like Chapman Photography at all (as others will tell you). I cannot speak for Randy, nor will I. I hate that someone treated you bad and I recommended you to them. Im sure things will work out with whomever you do choose- and maybe you should give Linda at the office a call and explain your reasoning for being upset with them and your mishap with your credit card (and the additional charges you are going to have to deal with).
Good luck with your new photographer... and please dont be upset with me for recommending him. He normally does an over the top job.

I know- Ryan and I got married in April 2005 and that planning was so fun, and in one day, it was over.... That's why you then devote your energy to planning a Disney trip! I'm such a planner- and the vacation planning has me occupied and it's even more fun than planning my wedding b/c it's NO stress!!!!

:rotfl: I suppose you could easily compare a wedding to Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner... all that preparing, stressing, etc.... all gone away in just brief moments! :rotfl:
I wish DH would be up for another Disney vacation-- but we have been the past couple of years in a row-- and DH is ready to switch things up a little bit. Disney vacation planning is definately more fun than planning any other vacation by far. Im so jealous-- I might just jump in your bags and go with you for a week!

Unfortunately... DH wasnt raised on Disney like I was-- so he doesnt appreciate the little things like I do. He defiantely loves it though. He was raised on those very leisure trips where you get the nasty sand in your bathing suit for days and get sunburnt and then sit in the room the rest of the time-- ya know.. those trips. Hes not used to getting blisters and actually having to walk a couple of miles for enjoyment. I believe hes ready to lay around a little bit more because he knows once the kids come in time-- disney will become a second home to us..:thumbsup2 -- atleast he better know that-- i tell him enough;) !

Now that sounds like a plan!! I can remember keeping a list at the computer (because I spend a LOT of time on DISboards) of things I needed to remember to do.... everyday i would carry everything over from my list the previous day and add the new things I think of below that... I think i was less than 2 weeks away from my wedding and still hadnt had my vows written.. and look-- here I am in planning mood. Too little too late I guess!! But it got done, and my day came... and thats all that matters. I think I could have stood up there and sing a song about birds pooping on my head and Dh would never have known-- and visa versa.
If I can help you with anything, seriously, let me know!! Your day will be here before you know it pixiedust:

Haha too funny about the bird pooping :rotfl: You know, I kept the list too for awhile and I kept adding to it, and adding to it that it got soooo overwhelming that I just got rid of it all together. Everyone keeps telling me "everything will fall into place, everything will look great", and I guess that's what I keep hoping you know? I'm doing a little bit at a time and trying not to get too stressed. I mean who's going to notice if the orange ribbon on my invitations is the exact same color as the orange ribbon on my bubbles? The one thing that is really stressing me out is DF is being a putz about finding a suit. He thinks like a girl and will find "the one" when he sees it. He's seriously beein searching for a nice tan suit for a year  So, if you have any advice on how to encourage a guy to make a decision, I could use help with that
Thanks so much Maggie, you're so sweet :flower3:

Well, I've been looking at the tux places online like After Hours and all they seem to have are black and gray. I really think he should wear tan since it's the middle of the day and the summer, but his mother thinks it's not fair that I get a big fancy dress and he just gets a 'tan suit.' She's so annoying!!! thats right!! You never know someone may stumble upon this and have never read it--
So your FMIL thinks its not fair that he wears a tan suit? Whats color have to do with it? Tan is very fancy!! Heck its better than having him wear a whilte button down shirt with khaki's (not that theres anything wrong iwth that-- its always very cute for beach themed weddings!). He will BURN UP in black!!

Maggie i just wanted to pop in and say how beautiful your photos are - **sigh** gorgeous- you've made 10x happier we booked randy!;) The day looked perfect.
Hey Maggie (and Shane)...and belated congratulations!
I can't believe it's taken me this long to post a reply here. I assure you...I've been with this thread since the very beginning. We're getting married at the same spot come October so I followed along with much interest. I should've spoke up sooner. (in my defense, I may still be the first male poster on this thread and while I'll post questions or give answers on this board if I know them I try not to be otherwise intrusive...like I don't want to walk in on you gals party)
For what it's worth though....I loved this thread.
It's bookmarked for reference. No kidding.
(those pictures of the wedding site a few pages in are awesome. It really helped us see what the place was like....an immense help)
Thanks for taking the time to post it all. It was a great read all the way to the end and I'm glad everything went so well for you guys. Everything looked great...the pictures were fantastic. Mr. Chapman really did a good job for you!
I have of course dutifully reported details of your experiences with the assorted vendors you used to my other. I may be the obsessive planner of we two, but matters of hair and makeup make me shrug...*grin*.
Some of my favorites from your report...
*The boat ride Disney gave you - That must have been an incredible sense of the Disney Magic right then :) . I think it was also great you got to share the experience with your parents. Also...I really dig how they wrote the certificate.
*The Scrooge picture - The whole experience of your Disney wedding is one of those great stories you get to carry around forever and chapters like this one are the best. I hope you get to run into him again....he gave you a perfect gift. Isn't is cool what being friendly and talking to people can make happen?
*hehehe...the dinosaur ride picture was classic
Once again...thanks for posting such a great report. I really learned alot from your posts and had fun the whole time.

I am so happy that you are getting excited about Randy. He was by far my favorite vendor (as everyone here on the boards already know-- all I can do is rave about him). I just *know* that your photos will turn out beautiful. Its a nice feeling walking into a situation where you will know you are being taken care of-- and thats the way it is when working with Chapman Photography!! Can't wait to see those photos girl!!

Hello Pax! I really appreciate you taking the time to post. I also want to say that we (or atleast I) dont think a man will ever intrude on these girls' party-- theres way too many of us out here. I want to commend you on stepping up to the plate and caring for the details that go into your wedding (whether it be site location, vendors, etc). Many men (Shane included) tend to let the woman handle every detail of the wedding, and when asked about certain things-- just agree with what you like. Your soon-to-be wife will certainly appreciate your initiative in this stressful time in your life.
We loved Randy. I think I have said that on nearly every thread here. I feel it is somewhat my duty to my fellow disney wedding planners because if I was in the same boat again, and had never heard of him or seen his work-- I would be very upset had a not booked him. A wedding is forever, and like I said in the post above-- you want to feel as though everything will work out to your satisfaction. Randy did just that and more. Had I never saw Tchan's photos I may not have gotten to book him in time. Now-- I want everyone to have him as well-- everyone needs to be happy with their photographs-- its the one thing you bring home that will last forever.
:goodvibes Thanks for mentioning the boat ride. I am really not one of those girls (or guys for that matter) who cant cut the leash for their parents. But I was happy to share this moment for them... if nothing else than to let them see that we were happy. I dont mind for them to share in my enjoyment-- that was an opportunity they got to have too, and I am pleased with it.
The Scrooge pic was amazing. I really enjoy giving credit where it is due-- and that man was so generous to us. We could have paid for the photo- money wasnt the issue. He was just being thoughtful and using his craft toward good deeds that day. I really hope we meet up again with him soon and give him a big thank-you. :cloud9: People at Disney really know how to go the extra mile to make you feel important.
The dinosaur picture-- haha. I swear if you cant laugh at yourself you might as well hit the road packing (or atleast in our house). Ofcoarse I look nothing short of a 'scaredy cat' but thats the reason we had to have it-- HAHA. Our kids will look back one day-- and when they are scared to ride the rides i'll be able to relate to them. Then, they can laugh it off and not think they look like a fool. Or maybe they can just look at it and laugh too-- :rotfl:
Thanks for reading this and am really flattered that it helped. When i was walking into our wedding I had no idea what SBP looked like from a distance, no idea really about the vendors I had.. nor about the day itself. The unfortunate part is that DFTW does a real foul job preparing you for the day itself-- you dont know anything from 'when am i getting my flowers' to 'whats the delay like from the time i get to the boardwalk till i walk down the isle'... you dont hear anything! Randy prepared me for that and some of the answers even he didnt know. I felt once I was in Disney I was more less just a customer of DFTW and I didnt get much attention from them until the actual arriving at the ceremony location.
This board really helps prepare us for our big day and had I not found it... I would have been in a heap of trouble!!
Thanks again for all your kind words-- they really mean a lot!

Maggie, your trip report was wonderful! There is so much I sympathize with you about!!
1. The makeup thing. I got married at home in Pittsburgh and the lady I used came VERY highly recommended. During my trial I said "natural" make up. Like you, natural for me is the eyeliner, blush, whole 9 yards. I feel weird without it. She did natural as in hardly noticable and I wanted natural for me. Yeah, it was my mistake, but I freaked!! Luckily she was cool enough to come and do a second trial for me and it was fine the day of, but I understand how disappointing that can be. You can have a million people tell you you look great, but if you didn't like it, nothing is going to change your mind!!
2. My dad's favorite character is Gaston. Just TRY to find anything with Gaston on it. It's like the quest for the Holy Grail. I bet all the Gaston merchandise is hiding with the Scrooge stuff. :)
And there was something else that is completely slipping my mind right now.... :) I'm so glad you had a wonderful wedding!! Thanks for the TR!

Thank you for reading  . The Lisa thing was just a real bummer for me because I really had high hopes. I dont think I was 'as' upset with the makeup (though i was upset dont get me wrong) as I was with the hair. I think I would have looked better with just a plain blow-dry down. I wouldnt be so upset but in my photos my hair looks like it was pulled back and then brushed (with bumps and whatnot-- like an amature would do)... and I hate seeing that in them.
Gaston? Wow... that would be MUCH harder than scrooge. Ill keep my eye out for ya!

Maggie, I just finally got done reading your TR - dreaming of the day when I can have my own DFTW!!. Your wedding was so beautiful! You are adorable as well- you remind me of Reese Witherspoon!
Personally I think you could've been way more bridezilla about the whole hair and make-up thing, I think you really took it in stride and looked beautiful. I love your glasses, btw! It makes me wish I wore glasses :lmao:
And as for sweet tea.. I think I'm one of the few Northerners/Midwesterners in the world that adores it. We can only get it at Cracker Barrel up here so when we go I drink gallons of it! I don't know how I went to college in Baltimore and missed it!

Yeah, my hair and makeup wasnt exactly the best in the world-- for me that is, but life goes on and that was just one day. DH wakes up to me every morning without nice hair and no makeup-- so it could always be worse:rotfl: !
Sweet Tea is heaven sent! Seriously. We searched high and low for some while at Disney. When we got back I had heard that Liberty Tree Tavern served it, but then stopped and now somewhere else does. I cant remember where it was-- but I'll certainly be doing my research before we go back. Whats a warm hot day without a good cold glass of sweet tea?:drinking1
As for your own FTW-- your day will come, and it will shine!! You just have to believe in it. GL:thumbsup2 And thanks again!

Diana, You are awesome!!
I actually bought that one for DH just before Christmas. I bought him the one with the collectors pin with it and got out paying $45.00. I havent seen them on sale that cheap since.
I got the e-mail this morning about the 'up to 70% off snowglobes' and looked to see if it was cheaper than what i paid (im a cheapskate for sure!). Luckily I got out well.
Thanks so much for posting this though. Its a great snowglobe-- it spits gold out of his mouth continuously when you turn it on.
Im considering getting some of those $20-some-odd dollar snowglobes that are on sale. Seems like a good price, I just always wonder if they will ever be lower- ya know?

Now, totally OT, but Maggie, I love your glasses! I wear glasses & need new ones...please tell me where you got them! Thanks!
d4est-- thanks so much for the compliment! Im so glad you enjoyed it!! I got these not all that long ago (maybe October?) from Lens Crafters-- they have a pretty good selection there. Ive also got some neat ones at Targets optical place-- but definately try lens crafters. Thanks again for reading!:goodvibes

Thank you for the info about your glasses. I just love them!
On the pic above...did cake actually go up his nose?

HAHA-- no ...doesnt that look like his nostral right there on the left where my finger is? It isnt... but its amazing how it does look that way. I really dont think it is-- he doesnt have a terribly big nose like that looks
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Chapman%20Photography/ChapmanPhotographyPhotos505.jpg
Normal looking nose to me:confused3
Everytime i post this picture i think to myself "what is that.." and really i dont know. My nose doesnt bend like that--- maybe his does. Im going to try and maneuver his nostral that way and if it works-- we have our answer.
We did get cake EVERYWHERE though-- Juliana Acosta (the Wedding Coordinator working the wedding) kept saying "now be nice guys" just before we were feeding one another the cake-- i guess she saw the evil in our eyes:stir: . None-the-less a very memorable moment!! We had another cake moment at our at-home-reception-- but it was a little less nice (it was payback from the first:cool2: ).
Thanks again D4est!!:goodvibes

DH and I have planned an upcoming trip to Mexico the last week in April-- and in true vacation fashion-- we always take 2 trips. This year we couldnt decide which two to pick:
Cozumel, Mexico
Destin, Florida or
WDW
We have been to all 3 and couldnt decide-- we have now officially chosen Mexico for our "early in the year" trip-- and I think DH expects me to choose WDW for our "later in the year" trip. Hmm... the beaches of Destin do sound nice though. I think this will all depend on how Mexico goes-- if I get a good enough tan I think we may head back to WDW. Okay im rambling now!

Maggie...just wanted you to know that I finally had time to read your trippie. I had posted so I could get back to it sometime. I have a sinus infection & am off sick from work today  & one of the first things I thought to myself was "I can finally read all about Maggie's wedding." Weird I guess, but that us Disers for ya.
Beautiful photos Maggie. I love Randy's work. Does he do vow renewals too? I got a yes dear to a vow renewal at 10 years. This August will be our 4th anniversary so I have years yet to go, but I already have an idea list in my head. :lmao: Like someone else on here, we got married at Sandals in Jamaica & took no one with us, so I thought a Disney vow renewal where everyone could come would be a nice gesture for the family members that didn't get to see us married the first time.
P.S. Where are the pics from the at home reception? Where did you have it????
Aren't you glad it's spring in Tennessee???? Although this weekend turned off a bit cool.
I spent Saturday throwing a :bride:bridal shower for my cousin at Sullivan's in Maryville.
Good lord, this has turned into a mega post...sorry bout that cold medicine makes me hyper.

Hello my fellow East Tennesseean:wave2:
Thanks so much for reading my trip report!! So sweet of you to take time and comment. Randy does do a phenomenal job, doesn't he? Randy does do Vow Renewals, and also engagement photos. He is so talented, really!! Keep him on the list of "MUST HAVES".
I LOVE:love: this weather we have been having (mainly last weeks weather, not so much this past weekend). Im so ready to start planting my flowers!!
You were in Maryville, huh? I am actually from Maryville. I graduated from Heritage (Haha-- i dont claim it all the time!). Dh and I havent ate at Sullivans since its been there. We moved out here to Seymour just as they were opening it up. I hear its great though!! I love downtown, I wish they would make it a little bit more 'hip' and 'classy' so it would be more convenient to park and walk at night to do things.
Our at home reception was in Rockford. Are you familiar with the area? If you get off of Pellissippi at the Cusick Rd exit (just passed Alcoa hwy exit) thats Rockford. We had it out Martin Mill Rd at a place called Twin Cedar Farms http://twincedarfarm.com/index2.htm
It is very beautiful and was well worth it! I still need to get those photos up from the reception!!
I hope you get to feeling better!! Let me know how you like the TR! I'm pretty frank about some things-- so watch out;) .
Cant wait to hear from you when you finish!! As I said get to feeling better-- being sick is no fun (I would attribute a lot of the sickness to this mixed up weather we are having).

ill see if I cant find some-- ill post tomorrow with an update. I dont know if I do or not. Thanks :) Actually-- Shane and I arent big drinkers-- but a lot of our friends and some of his family are. We went with the BYOB thing for our reception-- haha-- and had a local bar-b-q joint cater. Those are southern Sweet Tea's! In my opinion-- better than beer!
I skip out on the alchohol in the account of most events-- but if its a holiday I normally, unfortunately, find myself indulging-- its something about little kids who have parents who dont discipline:rolleyes1 .... haha.
We did have a great time!! I was more nervous for our at-home reception than our actual wedding!!

You will LOVE Randy! Im his absolute biggest admirer. Tell him I said hello! Him and Linda are phenomenal and he does a wonderful job with every bride and groom I see! I could go on and on about his work and his personality. He's the type of guy you meet and instantly feel comfortable around him (which is a GREAT trait to have for a photographer-- because you want to feel comfortable around him to get the great shots!).
Congratulations on your DFTW! Maybe DH and I can be there in the parks around that time;)

Wow-- thanks so much-- and tell your DW that I think thats absolutely so sweet...
I got my dress at Davids Bridal (T9104) and it was 399.00
http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=2664&prodgroup=127
DH and I were looking at dresses on the internet and he fell in love with the dress first. I really liked it-- but absolutely fell IN LOVE once I tried it on. It was the first dress I tried on and its the very first dress thats ever really made me feel pretty. Once i put it on I knew it was the one. The consultant at DB asked me to try on more, I didnt want to but did. After trying on 2 more dresses I told her that I was waisting her time-- I had found the one that was meant for me.

Maggie,
Just now finally finished with your trip report...and loved every minute of it. I always look for your reponses to posts, kind of seeing you as the Wise Wedding Goddess of this board. You are so cute, someone mentioned Reese Witherspoon and I have to agree!
Everything was gorgeous...you, your dress, everything!
We are also booking Randy (later this fall hopefully) mostly because of you. We will definitely tell him who referred us! Originally we were not going to book an outside photographer because of our tight budget, but as people have mentioned before...this will be all we have left of our special day!
Thank you for sharing and for all of your tips, pics, info, etc

Now see? there you go being sooo generous again, offering to help with everyone else's planning. i love it! Are you and Laura (princessdisneybelle) sisters?
I'm glad I could make your evening...you totally deserve it.
It will be hard to top a wedding as beautiful as yours. We are hoping for August 8, 2008 at the YCG (10am...August will be hot, but hopefully value season!) oh, Intimate wedding of course, its all we can afford, and being from Michigan, not too many will be able to make the trip anyway! We're undecided about what to do for lunch afterwards...we'll see, I have time.
Thanks again. I know I speak for a lot of other DISbrides when I say how much we appreciate and value your thoughts, opinions, etc.

Your so sweet.
Have you considered waiting a week or two and going when disney offers free dining? Since you are doing an intimate-- are you an AAA member? AAA members are right now on a special and can go to disney for $455 per person for 5 nights and 6 days (granted thats the price for a value room). None-the-less thats a really good price when you consider its free dining, room, park tickets, etc. You would probobly have to add on airfare (or car- whichever you choose)-- but airfare seems to be lowering and a lot of the smaller cheaper airlines are coming around more lately (all with service to Orlando). Thats something to consider-- would probobly be cheaper for both you and your guests. DH and I did this promotion back in 2005 (it was in September though) and the parks were empty and we had a wonderful time. Saved us a lot of money and it was DH's for experience with WDW.
August is a great month. GL!:thumbsup2

We are considering a little later in August, but not too much later because I was trying to do this before school starts in the fall as my MOH and mom are both counselors in the schools. I wanted to make it as easy as possible for them. So we'll see.
I have AAA, but I called them already and unless something changes for 2008 (the AAA rates/specials aren't out yet) we figured we can do it cheaper without AAA, if we can get the free dining special...if they offer it around the same time next year. We are hoping to stay in a moderate resort. We will also be driving...which we love to do and saves us tons of $$, plus I can bring with me everything I need and then some!
Anxious to see the AAA and Disney resort 2008 rates so we can compare all the deals...hopefully later this summer...we won't need the park tickets if we're getting the AP's, but I am wanting the dining package really bad!
Thanks for the tips though...I am not set on any one date in August. DF thinks it would be cool to be married 8/8/08. Guys are so funny like that!

Love the TR, esp with all the photos. I'm fairly new to the boards. I actually got engaged at Boardwalk a year ago, but that ended up not going anywhere, and the engagement was broken (another story for another time). Anyway, I wanted to ask if you were going to continue the report with text and photos from your reception back home? I am anxiously awaiting the finale! popcorn::

I dont know to be honest with you... but the best way to figure out the answer is probobly to just e-mail him.

He probobly just left out the little order form checklist. Did you get the big black leather bound album? Is that what you are trying to figure out what photos you want for? I would probobly email him and ask him what system he wants you to use. He usually gets back to you within a few days since he stays so busy. Good luck Malibelle!! And Congratulations!

I would try to have yourselves penciled in now ! We tried for 07/07/07, and all venues and times were booked by August of 2006. We wanted that as it was all sevens, but also, as in gambling "lucky 7's" and "jackpot". Anyway...we didn't get that date, but are getting married August 1st this year. I am dreading the heat in a dress and my DF in a tux, but it works best for guests with kids to travel before school starts !

Hi Maggie,
I loved reading about your wedding experience and it made me realize that I too can have the wedding of my dreams. I always thought that having a disney wedding was too much money, but I now see that this is not the case! My fiance and I live in Orlando and all of our family lives in NY and we would have about 100 guests!~! But now I see that it can be just me and my hunny, our parents and Mickey and Minnie and then we can go to NY for another celebration with the family!!! :)
Thank you for sharing your experience with us and for posting your beautiful photos!
You were a beautiful bride and you and your hunny look soo much in love!! Congratulations on your magical day~~~!!!!!

Aww Suzanne that was so so sweet! You can absolutely do it! We chose to have ours the way we did because we both have large families-- and we also have members in them that are disfunctional and can make an event like that turn into something thats "all about them". It just worked out better this way. We actually talked about eloping just the two of us at one point-- but the more I looked into it-- the better it was that we had the wedding ceremony for memories and pictures to capture the event. Im really glad we did things the way we did. In years down the road I do want to have a big vow renewal with our entire family-- maybe in some exotic island somewhere-- or even possibly WDW. DH and I are both very young but with the great price tag that Disney puts on the intimate its really hard to pass it up! We both love Disney and let me tell you-- its the place dreams are made of! I cant remember if I put in here how much we spent... but it was like $2500 for the wedding and another $1000 for Mickey & Minnie.... then our lodging-- so not expensive at all. We did stay at a deluxe so it can be done even cheaper than what we paid. I know that the intimate/escape weddings are going up but still-- its very very affordable and the memories you have will remain with you forever. Even if you arent able to get married there-- consider honeymooning. Disney is just so magical and theres nothing like being right in the middle of it all during one of the most happiest times of your life. Congratulations on your upcoming marriage and I hope that if I can ever help you with anything in the future that you would please please let me know! Best wishes my friend..

Your whole trip report is so wonderful. I hope I can look even half as good as you. You dress is goregous, and despite you not liking your hair and make up, you still look beautiful. I just recently booked Randy as our photographer also, and I'll be sure to tell him that I partly choose him from your reports.
Congrats! Maggie

Stumbled onto your thread here by accident and just wanted to say congrats! My wife and I got married three days before yall did. The pictures are awesome of your wedding and trip to the world. We did a pre-wedding trip to disney to relieve some of the planning stresses and then honeymooned in Jamaica. If we had more time (and more $$) we would have done the disney wedding but I cant imagine planning that (or hearing about planning it from my then fiance) from far away even with the help of a wedding planner.

I met my dad at the end of the walkway and the wedding began.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/AndersonCertificate.jpg
Hes great, and Im not just saying so (And no, he doesnt read this board!).
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day374.jpg
On the way back to the hotel we took a couple photos.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day375.jpg
We decided to wear the shirts I had made..
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l301/maggimus/Disney%20Nov%202006/Day377.jpg
.. and head on out to meet my folks at MK.

I LOVE your TR! I have a questions... where did you find the design for your t-shirts? I love it on the white shirts! If you have the link to the thread that would be great or if you have the file you could send to me that would be wonderful too! Thanks!:thumbsup2

Thanks im glad you enjoyed it. The shirts were actually at one time on disneyshopping.com. So many of us brides got them. You could customize what they said (3 lines) and have a whatever logo you picked on there. They were at one time 9.99 and had them on sale for a while at 7.99 (I got mine at this price). However ive since learned that we were some of the last to get them and they discontinued the personalized shirts soon after.
At this point Disney seems to be endorsing Zazzle.com for their 'create your own' tee's. You might be able to find a great design here! Im sorry though that I cant get you to the ones we purchased.
Hope this helps some! (this is the closest they have to that now)

Hi Maggie - just finished reading your TR start to finish!
First of all, let me say that I am not a future bride (married 11 years and counting), but this TR has to be the best TR for those brides planning their WDW wedding. What makes it so great is that you provide such helpful information on one vendor that you are over-the-moon about as well as one that you were disappointed in.
Your comments are so helpful because they are specific and factual as to why you liked/disliked each and allow the reader to draw their own conclusions. (Which BTW, I most certainly agree with your concerns about your hair/makeup person. Maybe they weren't given specific detail about makeup, but with hair, clearly that did not match at all what you asked for. Regardless, YOU looked amazing!!!:goodvibes )
Also, while again I was not reading this TR for myself, I think that it would be very helpful for future brides to know how much these weddings cost and so far yours was the only wedding TR that this information was posted.
Congrats again on your wedding and all the best!:)

I apprecaite all of your honesty and kind words. Im glad you understand about my hair and make-up. I went with the person who was raved about most at the time... and felt a little empty once my experience was over. I wish I had went with another now that I see that the shine and spark off of my old vendor has worn off.
Thats so sweet of you to say that the TR will be helpful. I was hoping to do both-- relive my experience and help other brides. Im a visual person so seeing SBP in photos was something I really looked for before my wedding. I tried to include everything I could. People think of a Disney wedding and automatically tell themselves that they cant afford it.... but its a lot less expensive as some think!
Thank you for reading along-- it means a lot to me to see this old TR get pulled up every now and again by a new reader:hug: Thanks so much!!

Maggie, I have read this from start to finish again because it was a brilliant TR. I remember last year when you posted this and I was so excited to read it. I loved going back and revisiting this. I totally forgot about the extra pixie dust you received on the boat watching the pageant, how amazing.:goodvibes You were such a beautiful bride and your photos were stunning, I made Steven sit through all your pics:rolleyes: Reading the bit about your parents leaving and getting upset, it makes me wonder how I'll be when my mom leaves after the week :confused3
I still love your bouquet, it's a gorgeous color. You looked fantastic Maggie:hug: and I'm sure this TR has helped loads of upcoming brides.

You are so sweet Jessica! Congrats on the wedding getting so close. It flies by so seriously take in every single breath! I am doing very well. My DH and I just finished building our new house and have moved in completely. Hopefully planning on a little one here in the near future. I'm really glad to see that my TR comes to the top from time to time. I only did is so that I could hopefully pass on advice that I thought might be useful and my real-life situation. I know coming here really helped me plan my wedding. It's extremely hard to plan the biggest day of your life (thus far) miles and miles from where it will take place... most if not all over the telephone. The support I received here was priceless and I'll forever be greatful. Please, please, do not forget to come back and let us all know what a romantic time you had. And remember... things dont always go as planned... but as long as you are together, that's truly all that matters!! Congrats again!

Its made me get more excited about our big day as i can invision more how it ll hopefully be:lovestruc . This tr is proof in my eyes that we ve made the right choice in changing locations
Both yours & Summers Tr's have been so helpful to me & no doubt in the run up to our wedding i will read both tons of times.

SBP is beautiful. When we chose that as a location I had no idea really what we were getting into location wise. I made sure to take lots of photos to post on this TR of the location itself from different angles. I had no idea it was such a walk (not that it was a problem) or really what it looked like as a whole. It's a great venue on the water and I was really pleased with everything! I didnt wear my dress to the at-home reception. We kept it somewhat low-key since I didnt have the photos back yet. However, I did take my dress to the local dry cleaners (DH gets his shirts cleaned there every week and I trust them tremendously) and it took about 3 weeks. Do you have that kind of time? If you do-- I would say you will be alright. You might go to the place you are cleaning it and ask how long it will take them to clean it.
My dress was FILTHY before we even left SBP. We did the photos before the wedding seperately at the Wilderness Lodge, then his photos during the ceremony-- and the rest at SBP... Then we went to the GF where I got in the sand, in the water, on the grass, etc. My dress looked like this from the blacktop at SBP before we even GOT to the GF. However, Randy realizes what our dresses get into and in a conversation with him before I received my photos he told me that he positions you, and the camera, so the dirt doesnt get in very many photos. Here is the photo from SBP

Thanks for your advice,
We have just under 2 weeks so I don't know if it'll be doable! :scared1:
We're wanting to do the MK shoot too, and I hear you get pretty grubby from that, but we're planning a small ceremony before the wedding so I had intended on wearing my dress again.
Think I'd better find a cleaner in our area and ask them (the shop I found my dress in is about 2 hours away) man I'm awkward!
Who cleans wedding dresses anyway? Dry cleaners? Or wedding shops? Oh, you already said dry cleaners! I really don't have a clue what I'm doing, do I?! :rotfl:

haha! You have enough to worry about right now-- so I wouldn't worry too much about having your thinking cap on (esp. when it comes to where to get your dress cleaned-- heck you probably have enough to worry about just getting ready for the big day).
I did take mine to the drycleaners. They put it in a preservation box and everything (I havent taken it out or looked at it- who knows if I ever will. Heck, I could have the girl down the roads dress for all I know. Or a baby outfit in there- lol). Just try calling around-- I bet somewhere can get it done for you that soon. I think mine took as long as it did because they had to order the preservation box and stuff. I cant imagine it would actually take that long to physically clean a dress, ya know?

Maggie, so glad to see your TR pop again! I am so overdue at sending out those snowglobe pictures between moving, our honeymoon, and at-home reception this weekend I haven't had time to get them out to photograph, I'll be in touch soon!
Just wanted to jump in about the cleaning of the dress before an at-home reception. It only took a week to get mine back from the cleaners for my reception. It takes a lot less time when you're not having it preserved yet :thumbsup2

Awesome :thumbsup2 Thanks for that Vanessa, you were right Maggie, it really should take that long to clean one dress ;)
I think I'll call and check much nearer the time (well maybe I'll call soon just to check their timescale), and call before we go to let them know what date I'm bringing it in when we get back so they can't say they weren't warned!
Phew! That's a relief to know it can be done - just pray that our dry cleaners are as speedy as Vanessa's!

Just found your report today (someone linked it on another thread) and read it start to finish!
What a fabulous day! You have some amazing pictures!
My husband and I got married in 2005 with about 300 people in IL - now I wish I would have done it in WDW like you did! Maybe a vow renewal for our 10 year.... :)
Thanks for sharing!

Maggie your TR originally inspired DH and I to have a vow renewal in WDW, but now instead we are looking to move to FL/WDW. Maybe one of these days I will be able to have as magical of a day as you had.

Just think, moving to the WDW area is even better- you can go whenever you want! Never give up faith- if you want that vow renewal you will get it, all in good timing. Florida is beautiful.... i hope everything works out the best for you both!!:woohoo: :yay:
