Hey all,
Im new here and not used to using forums so forgive me if im in the wrong one or say something wrong!
Im going to DLP with my husband2be, & dd who's and will be 2 in Jan, we're going on Jan 7th as our last holiday before we pay a full child price for dd.
We're staying at the Sequoia lodge. Hopefully a few of you can answer questions (quite a few, sorry).
1 - At the SL do you think we can upgrade our room to a montana room when we get there if we're not in one already??? We need a mini bar/fridge for dd's milk.
2 - Can we book a good morning fantasyland brekky when we get there as we did not have this option booking through a third party agent. We'd love to get in the park early!
3 - We're staying for 3N4D, do you think we could squeeze a paris trip in somewhere? We want to go by ourselves rather than on an organized trip. Will we be able to do the parks and this?
4 - How much are the buffalo bill show?? I didnt get the option of booking this either, Ive seen it for about £40, is it worth it??
5 - What time do the xmas parades usually start as we're going on the day of the very last one. We'd love to squeeze it in!
There are a few more q's but i will leave you to answer these before you get pee'd off with me! ;)

Oh, don't worry. They are a friendly bunch here. One couldn't ask too much. But most of us are at work and do some in between posting. So I'm sure there be some more who will answer later on.
I haven't got very much time, but I could maybe help you with the fantasyland breakfast question. You could book it when you are there, but it is a risk that there won't be tickets left anymore. If have a booking confirmation sheet or the vouchers, there's normally a number on it you can dial if you have any further questions. Dial it and just tell them you want to book a Fantasyland Brekkie. They will book it or give you the right number. Sorry that I couldn't give the number itself, I only have the german one.
Welcome to the DIS!! Don't worry, there's no such thing as too many questions!! :)
1) Shouldn't be a problem upgrading to a Montana room once you get there - I doubt the hotel will be full in January.
3) You probably could squeeze in a trip to Paris during a 4 day stay, but it won't make your visit as relaxing! As you're just planning to get yourselves there, you can see how much you manage to do at DLP in the first couple of days, and then decide if you've still got time for a trip out.
5) The Christmas parade is at 4 pm and Fantillusion is about 7 pm

Another idea:
If you don't want to go back to your travel agency and don't have some documents by now then try this:
Call the reservation hotline and tell them that you don't have the reservation or booking number, because you have booked it by a travel agent, but like to add the Fantasyland breakfast. I'm sure they will have your name in the computer...
I hope that will work somehow! I keep my fingers crossed.
Just looked up the UK number, that's from the official UK website:
Reserve by telephone
UNITED KINGDOM : 08706 06 6800
- Reservations office opening hours:
(UK time) from 8.15 am to 7.45 pm from Monday to Friday
from 9.15 am to 5.45 pm Saturdays

Re: Buffalo Bill's - it's a fun night, great atmosphere, the food's OK not
a la carte but perfectly edible.
Personally I think it's worth the money, we've been twice and DH didn't complain, so it can't be too bad or it could be down to the free beer. ;)

Re: Mini-bar/fridge - I didn't think you were allowed to store anything in them :confused3
Can anyone else clarify this?

Hi,
With the Mini Bar you will need to ask a member of staff first as it is automatic so if you remove any items you will be charged for them. From what I have heard staff are happy to empty the mini bar for guests to store items if they request it.

Thanx everyone, you've all been great. I feel very welcome on the forum.
Just to add that i booked through a company i found on teletext so i never saw anyone f2f.
Im a bit worried if they dont let me keep dd's mil in the fridge, but im sure we'll work something out!
And im quite happy that there is actually 2 parades! I didnt think there would be 2! I was just desperate to get to see the xmas one, so i got the last day with the free nights offer!
Just to say thanx again and im sure it wont be the last you hear from me!
btw i'm Nikki, h2b is Rich and DD is Elissia (Lissi for short!) xXx
I dont' think that the Sequoia Lodge minibars are the posh automatic ones, unless they've changed them. I'm sure you could squish up the stuff to make room for the milk! Otherwise do ask at reception, and I'm sure they'll find a way to help you.
im sure it wont be the last you hear from me!
Excellent, that's what we like to hear!!! :teeth:

Is your DD on cow's milk ?
You can buy milk in the hotel shop in the SL. We bought new stuff every night so didn't need to worry about storage.
I'm sure you could fit in a Day trip to Paris by taking the Train (i think it's about 45 mins from DLRP) but I would be tempted to spend all my time at DLRP instead ! :goodvibes
I would estimate you will use a day at the studios (if you are travelling over a weekend the studios is quieter then than the main park)and 2 days at the main park.
I hope you have a great time. I think we may be leaving just as you arrive. We are going for a short hop from 4th-6th January with DD(4) and her two Grannies as a post-Christmas treat :yay: Can't wait to see Fantillusion :Pinkbounc

DD is on cows milk, but h2b was worried about french cows milk and wonderng if we should take sma progress cartons just to be on the safe side, what do you think??
We're arriving on sunday at the eurostar for about 1.30pm local so we have about 1/2 a day, a whole day, then the day at paris, hopefully be back by 6pm and try to squeeze buffalo bills that night, then eurostar leaving about 6.30pm. So should have a few hours in the park that day too. Hope we get it all done. We're kind of relying on the time of year we're going not to be too busy, so hopefully can do all the stuff we want! So excited, the big kid in me is coming out!

Hi :-)
We are also going to the Sequoia Lodge of the 8th Jan for 5 days.
You do know that kids are free in January anyway, so even next year when your DD is three you still wouldn't pay for her. We have 3 kids and haven't paid for any of them this trip.
To answer your questions:
1. Yes you can probably upgrade your room. We are staying in a Montana room and booked through an agent so not sure why they couldn't do this for you at the time.
2. Possibly. You need to ask on check in. Again, not sure why your agent could do this as ours booked ours for us.
3. You probably need to allow 2 days for Disney and 1 for the Studios, so yes you should be able to fit in a day in Paris. We are going to have a day there, we'll go on the train and get a one day travelcard equivalent so we can use the metro.
4. Buffalo Bills. We are going for the first time this year, our youngest will be nearly 3. I think its cost us £68 for all of us as the kids were free, so about £40 a head is about right. It is meant to be very good but quite loud so I guess it depends if you think your DD will be okay with all the noise?
5. I don't know when the parades are, you can check out the disneyland paris site as they have the parade times on there.
Other than that, are you as excited as I am?? :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
If you want to PM me, then please do, maybe we might see you in the bar at the SL by the huge log fire??

I will pm you in a bit! Ive been on this forum for a day and im already possibly going to meet someone! How kool is that!

Kids under 7 are free all year next year. You only need to pay for transport.

Not quite accurate. Sorry for splitting hairs LOL! With the Under 7 offer you only get the hotel and passes free.
With the kids free in January to March offer everything is free, transport, hotel, passes, character breakfasts, buffalo bills, the lot really. Makes it a fantastic deal for those of us with more than the average 1-2 children!!

We stayed in the SL last November, and the mini bars were definately the old type fridge style. Nothing automatic in sight, and we kept milk for DS in there. We also upgraded to a Montana Lake View on check in with no problems. :sunny:

UK people: don't kill me... but I trust French cows more than the UK cows  so I wouldn't worry too much about it!

Thanx all for you're help and just to add that i called my agent up and booked buffalo bills night for the evening we come back from Paris at 9.30, just hope DD will be able to keep her eyes open for it! Also checked about the good morning fantasyland brekky and the woman who originally booked us already gave us a GMFB without telling us! And for the day i wanted! Was well chuffed! All thanks to you guys! x
