Hi everyone. We had a lot of meals at the world and we'll be sharing them all with you. We had great experiences, as well as not so great experiences. Hpefully we'll be able to assist you in making some of your ADR's.

The Restaurants:
-Raglan Road
-O'hana Dinner
-O'hana Character Breakfast
-Food and Wine Festival
-Artist Point
-Tonys
-Garden Grill Character Lunch
-California Grill
-50's Prime Time Cafe
-1900 Park Fare character Breakfast
-Jiko
-Coral Reef
Boma

Counter Service:
-Flame Tree Barbeque
-Tusker House
-Flatbread Grill
-The Mara
-Roaring Forks Cafe
-Columbia Harbour House
-Pecos Bills
-Sommerfest

We'll also be rating several different snacks and drinks we had over the trip.

Day 1: Raglan Road

When I made an ADR at this restaurant I was expecting a small, warm pub. I don't know why I felt this way. I couldn't have been more room. Raglan Road is an EXTREMELY LOUD and large restaurant. The noise level is outrageous. It's the kind of restaurant where you have to scream at a person in order for them to hear you. We started off with soda bread which was pretty good. It came with an oil and guiness dip which was different but good.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB100149.jpg

We followed this by sharring the appetizer of the Dalkey Duo. The Dalkey Duo is little sausages breaded and deep fried kind of like cocktail hotdogs. This came with a mustard/mayo dip. This was suprisingly good and I found it hard to stop eating them.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB100151.jpg

After our apperizer was taken away it took another 50 minutes for our entrees to come out. That seemed like quite a bit of a wait as the people next to us who had come in at the same time, and ordered appetizers and entrees had already left before we got our meal. Regardless, for our entrees I apologize as we do not have any pictures. I ordered the sheperds pie and my fiancee ordered the lamb. These were both TERRIBLE. I'm really not exagerating. I'm not the kind of person who insults for no reason. The shepherds pie resembled a ground up hamburger and tasted awful. I felt like it was something I would use for dog food. Jay (my fiancee's) lamb was tough. I thought there was a bone in it and I found out it was just so tough that it felt that way with a fork and knife. The only reason we realized it wasn't a bone is because we felt it with our hands. We really had a terrible experience here.

It was so terrible in fact that I wondered how anyone had a positive experience here. This was our worst meal of the trip. I would give Raglan Road a D.

DAY 2:

This day we decided to have Breakfast at Roaring Forks. We weren't very hungry so I had raisin bran cereal while my fiancee had frosted flakes. Sorry we're not more interesting here!

We were hungry later at the Magic Kingdom so we wandered over to the bakery. The bakery was packed so we decided to go to the confectionary and split a chocolate and peanut butter rice krispy treat. This was DELICIOUS! You really must try these. We used a snack credit for the purchase.

After wandering around MK for awhile we took the monorail over to EPCOT for the last day of the Food and Wine Festival. The park was PACKED so we were only able to get food from Norway in which we got Norweigen Meatballs. This was absolutely delicious.

We had margaritas in Mexico (I love these). I had the fiesta which is a combination of Mango, Strawberry, Kiwi and Lime and Jay had just the lime. We both got it without salt.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB110246.jpg

We walked over to Germany where we got Bratwurst, sauerkraut and black forest cake. We split this CS. I don't know what it is about Sommerfest but they have the best sauerkraut I've ever tasted. I can eat it by the spoonful. It was wonderful. Solid A.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB110256.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB110257.jpg

We followed this with shots of goldschlagger.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB110258.jpg

And finally a Bellini.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB110263.jpg

At this point we had to go back to our resort so we could make our dinner reservation,

Dinner was at O'hana. We really enjoyed this restaurant. We arrived a little early so after checking in we went over to the bar where Jay enjoyed a Lapu Lapu (something I would suggest) and I got my standard Bacardi and Diet Coke.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB110292.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB110293.jpg

Our Camera battery died at this point! Sorry, we get better at taking pictures as the trip progresses, I promise! When we were seated first we were given the Fried Wontons. These were great, especially with the peanut sauce. The other two sauces were okay.

Next we were given the sweet and sour shrimp which I loved and the wings which Jay loved.

Last we had our skewers and potatos which were also great. The potatos were especially good.

For our dessert we had the bread pudding. This was my favorite dessert of the trip-yummmmmmmmmmmmm

We really enjoyed our dinner at O'hana. Watching the fireworks while eating was really fun. Overall I'd give this restaurant a B+ :thumbsup2

Thanks for the reviews so far, I'm enjoying them. We're eating at a lot of the same places, so I'm looking forward to the rest of your reviews. We're planning to try Raglan Road, so I'll stay away from the lamb and shepard's pie. DH really, really wants that sausage app, so I'm glad at least that was good! :tinker:

Day 3:

Lunch at Flame Tree Barbeque:

Jay and I split a counter service. We ordered the barbeque sandwich with coleslaw and corn and the cob. For dessert we had the key lime pie.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB120333.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB120337.jpg

This was a GREAT meal. One of our favorite of the park. The sandwich was delicious. The coleslaw was perfect and the corn and the cob was killer. The key lime pie was pretty good too but I wish there had been more meringue on top. Overall I'd give this place for counter service an A :thumbsup2

Later in the day we had drinks in Africa. I had a banana daiquiri and Jay had a rum runner. Mine was DELICIOUS. However, Jay's was wayyyyyyyy too strong. Seriously, it was about 98% liquor. It was impossible to drink. My suggestion is do not order anything off of the menu that's on chalkboard- you'll see it and know. No harambe cooler's either. I tried one later in the trip and had to throw it out because it was impossible to sip!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB120362.jpg

Dinner was at Artist Point

Artist Point was amazing. It was our favorite dinner of the whole trip as it was our last trip. It's such a beautiful restaurant. We were seated right up against the window next to the stream. Very romantic and beautiful

First we had bread with butter

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB120412.jpg

Then we had a wonderful salad. I forget the name of it and it's not on the All Ears menu so sorry but it was very good! It had apple and walnut in it and a sweet vinagirette dressing.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB120413.jpg

This was followed by the best mussels I've ever had in my life. They were amazing. Great portion, big mussels, amazing, but not overpowering flavor.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB120415.jpg

We tried a cheese plate

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB120416.jpg

All the cheeses were very good. There was chedder, blue cheese, and goat cheese. All were very nice. This came with raisins in a red wine reduction and sweet apricots. Very yummy. I highly suggest this as well. We usually don't order cheeses but we were splurging this dinner!

For our entrees I had the cedar plank salmon over a bay of greens which is there signature meal and my fiancee had the Buffalo Steak in the red wine reduction with carmelized onions and sweet potatos. Both were amazing. I forgot to take pictures until we were half way through so the pictures really don't do it justice. However, you'll be able to get an idea of how wonderful it was.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB120424.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB120425.jpg

For dessert we split the coffee two ways which was coffee creme brulee and a coffee and chocolate lava cake. Again, delicious.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB120428.jpg

Here's a picture of the restaurant that again doesn't do it justice. The restaurant has dim lighting so it's hard to take flattering photos.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB120423.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB120427.jpg

Overall I'd give this restaurant an A+. Absolutely Outstanding! :thumbsup2

The next morning we decided to go to the Lilo and Stitch character breakfast over at O'hana. We didn't have ADR's but we crossed our fingers. When we got to the Poly they told us it would be an hour wait and we were hungry so we used a snack credit and got some cookies at the gift shop.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB120474.jpg

they were pretty good.

About 20 minutes later our buzzer went off, I guess it helps to be a table for two! :goodvibes

We were given juice which was an interesting flavor, I actually really enjoyed it. Then we were given Pineapple and Cinnamon Bun Bread with fruit. All was delicious.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB120478.jpg

During that time we met a bunch of characters. Great time. Then our main food came out. I apologize because we didn't remember to take a picture until we had already served ourselves but still you get the idea.

Thanks for reading shamrockshake! The poly is such a beautiful resort. We want to stay there one day. The convenience with the monorail is great!

We had an ADR at Tonys for right when they opened up. We didn't wait long and were seated. We were given bread with sun dried tomato sauce. The sauce was cold and wasn't very good so we asked for butter and that made a much nicer combination. The butter had mickey imprinted on it which was a nice touch :thumbsup2

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB130520.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB130523.jpg

For appetizers I had the tomato and mozzarella salad and Jay had the spinach and artichoke dip. The salad was very bitter and the mozzarella was ground up so fine that I woudln't have known what kind of cheese it was had I not ordered. In NJ when you order a mozzarella salad you get big chunks, so I guess that was what I was expecting. The spinach dip was pretty good though. It had chunks of artichoke in it which nice. We devoured that pretty quickly!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB130525.jpg

For our entrees I had the Chicken Florentina but for some reason they called it Chicken Fiorentina. I don't know if they realized they were using a wrong name or they wouldn't to give it their own touch. Whatever the case I was suprised because it was actually pretty good! For those of you who don't know Chicken Florentina is chicken with prosciutto, cheese and spinach. It came with a brown marsala sauce and potatos.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB130530.jpg

Jay had the spaghetti and meatballs. This, was just awful. I mean it. It was chef boyarde. If you put both in my mouth NEVER would I be able to tell the difference. I couldn't believe they served this. Terrible. He ended up splitting the chicken florentine with me.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB130531.jpg

For dessert Jay had the chocolate "gelato" which was just chocolate ice cream. I had the tirimisu which came out like this. At first I was confused. Did I order tirimisu ice cream? I had another instance of this once in the Bahamas where I was served tirimisu as a hard pie with a pie crust! Craziness! Anyway, although it wasn't tirimisu, or ice cream, it was still pretty good. Good enough to make me eat to the point where I was sick.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB130537.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB130536.jpg

Overall I'd give Tonys a C.

We had lunch at the Garden Grill at EPCOT this particular day. I was definitely excited for this one. I had read so many great reviews so I was expecting the best!

And the best we did receive! YUM!

For a drink I had a rasberry daiquiri that was delicious.

We were given bread with a pumpernickle butter that was verrrrry good right when we sat down. The bread was moist and absolutely delicious and the butter was sweet. The combination was PERFECT.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB140711.jpg

We were then given our plate of food. We were allowed to have as many plates as we wanted after this one. On the plate there was flan steak with a brown mushroom sauce. The steak was tender and the sauce was delicious. We were given turkey with cranberry sauce- yum. The fried catfish was AMAZING. Seriously, I'm fantasizing about it right now. The stuffing was wonderful as was the mashed potatoes. Everything was truly wonderful.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB140712.jpg

For dessert we were given warm bread pudding with a vanilla sauce to put on top. This was hands down my favorite dessert of the trip. I give Garden Grill a solid A for overall experience and character interaction and for the food an 8 out of ten. We will make it a point to go there everytime we're at the world. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB140713.jpg

That evening we had dinner reservations at The California Grill. I was very excited as we had never been there before and for the rave reviews from the disers. I have to say it was a big disappointment. Yes, there was a view of the castle and space mountain but it was very far away.

We were started off with bread and oil. The oil was very bitter but otherwise the bread was good.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB140752.jpg

For appetizers I had the sonoma goat cheese ravioli. This was okay, but not superb.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB140755.jpg

Jay had sushi. I forget which one it was but I think it was the Yoshie's Sushi Samper. The sushi I will admit was very good. This was the best part of our meal.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB140756.jpg

For our entrees I had the halibut. The halibut was AWFUL. It was steamed with rice and vegetables. and had an overwhelming pickle flavor. If you go to the grill definitely do not order this!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB140758.jpg

Jay had the steak which he said was good but definitely not worth the price. The steak was tender and we ended up splitting it.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB140759.jpg

For dessert I had the apple tart. It was pretty good, but I'm a bit of a sweet tooth.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB140764.jpg

Jay had the chocolate flourless cake with rasberry sorbet. Again, it was good but not great

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB140765.jpg

I have to say I was underwhelmed with the CG. This is not a romantic place to eat. It's loud and kind is more like a singles bar. Although the food wasn't terrible I wouldn't say it's anywhere near the price. It seems the view of the Magic Kingdom is the big draw here. We wouldn't go back. I'd give it a 5 out of 10 or a C and Jay says the same.

I am also reading your trip report and I know what you mean about being Italian and eating Italian food outside of the Tri-state area. ;) My DH will not eat Italian food in Disney...he always says "If they can't get the Pizza right what makes you think they will get the rest of it right?" :rotfl2:

I have to admit I was really surprised the first time I went to California Grill, I was expecting a quiet, upscale adult atmosphere and it was utter chaos in there, extemely loud that you had to speak loudly to have a conversation and tons of people lined up by the entrance waiting to get in, babies everywhere and kids running all over the place.

The food was VERY good though, I am giving it another try, but I didn't have fish - I guess there was lots of dill on your halibut making it taste like pickles :(

That apple tart looks good though, I might try that next month :)

Hi Loralie- thanks for reading. Italian food just isn't the same outside of this area. While we had fun at Tonys we'd probably never eat there again. Thankfully there's so many other nice restaurants to choose from!

Hey Cass. Yes very loud indeed. While we had a great time maybe we just didn't order right. I hope you have a more positive experience and I'll be looking foward to hearing how it goes! I just noticed that you'll be staying at AKL. Hands down our favorite resort!

Today was our day at MGM.

We started breakfast off at the Mara. Sorry, no pics but I did have a delicious chocolate chip muffin and Jay had a great cinammon roll that we used snack credits for.

We split lunch at the Flatbread Grill. It was delicious. I can't say enough good things about this place. I had never really heard about it on the boards before and we kind of just stumbled upon it. It's a healthy eater place and that was just what we wanted.

We split a chicken caesar wrap. It was yummy! Only it was a little small so I don't suggest splitting here. For dessert we had a very good chocolate cake and I had the best Sangria I've ever tasted in my life.

From now on this will be our counter service stop at MGM.

For dinner we ate at 50's Prime Time Cafe. Another great meal.

For drinks Jay had a root beer float and I had a bacardi and diet coke.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB150874.jpg

He's too cute sometimes.

Anyway, for appetizers I had the shrimp cocktail. It was very good. Jay had the fried herbel cheese which was also very good. The cheese came with various fruits and the grapes tasted heavenly with the cheese. YUM!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB150875.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB150876.jpg

For our entrees I had the salmon and Jay had the meatloaf. Both were fantastic. I'm not even a meatloaf person and I liked his and mine was amazing. I never thought salmon would be good here but I was WRONG.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB150877.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB150878.jpg

Jeremy was yelled at to finish his green beans or no dessert. Our waitress was a riot. She was constantly in theme.

Finally, for desserts I had the angel food cake. It was really, really really really really good :cloud9: We had hit the food jack pot today!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB150881.jpg

Jays was equally wonderful. He had the smores

I'm glad you did a review of 50's PTC. Im also glad you reviewed the salmon because I was considering getting that when I go. Did the waitress do any embarassing things to you guys?? How did Jay like his smores? .. it all looks so yummy!!

Shovan- great! I'm happy that they're showing up! The Flatbread Grill is very close to the Lights, Motors, Action show.

Blayne- the salmon was great- definitely go for it!! The waitress was relatively tame, but we requested a more tame server. However, she did make Jay finish his green beans before giving him any dessert. The smores were great by the way!

For our entrees I had the Chicken Florentina but for some reason they called it Chicken Fiorentina. I don't know if they realized they were using a wrong name or they wouldn't to give it their own touch.

They probably had Fiorentina instead of Florentine because, in Italian, Florence is Fiorenze. So Fiorentina is just the Italian way of saying Florentine (i.e. "from Florence") :thumbsup2

Wow, it's been a while since I've been at some of those places, and things
are almost the same, but I noticed what was missing.

Flame Tree used to serve wonderful baked beans with the BBQ sandwiches.
When did those go away? :confused3 (I must admit I haven't been keeping
up with the dining "news".)

I did know the s'mores at the Prime Time were changed. The quantity of
s'mores used to be double what you get now. Two people were able to share
easily.

But I loved my buffalo steak at Artist Point, and I know that looks to be
the same.

And I knew the Garden Grill had changed their menus, but then changed
them back to the "original" way, what you've shown us. Yes, the catfish
is really tasty!

I'm enjoying my vicarious food here. I have food pics from previous trips,
but I've never posted any.

Well as of Sept. they still had the baked beans with the sandwhich. We had a BBQ Beef sandwhich, but didn't want the beans, so the CM offered us the cole slaw instead.

Maybe the OP just didn't want the beans so she got the cole slaw instead. :confused3

they do give you baked beans but we substituted for cole slaw bc jay hates beans so don't be disappointed!

What a beautiful restaurant. It's so romantic on the inside. I can't stress this enough. I really suggest eating here if you're a couple. It was quiet and wonderful.

Anyway, back to the DINING report. Sorry guys!

First came out the bread. Best bread of the trip. Hands down. I love bread and relish every oppurtunity I allow myself to have it. Normally, I'm an Atkins girl so bread is heavenly. The butter was sweet and savory.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB161066.jpg

For our appetizers I had the Kalamata Olive Flatbread and Jay had the Keyan Coffee Barbeque Chicken flatbread. Both were different, but good. Jeremy loved his.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB161063.jpg

For entrees I had the Wood Grilled Pork Tenderloin. It was okay, but Jay's entree was much better.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB161067.jpg

Jay had the famous filet mignon. I never thought it would work, steak and mac and cheese but....it does. I really liked this and I'm not even a steak person!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB161068.jpg

For dessert I had a delicious pistachio creme brulee and Jay had the flourless chocolate cake which was pretty good as well.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB161071.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB161070.jpg

Overall we give Jiko a B. We'd definitely go back but we wouldn't have to every trip the way we do with our Artist Point.

Thanks for another great installment.

Wow...this was a wonderful restaurant. I was so nervous to eat here after hearing all the negative reviews but I am so happy I did. We had a wonderful time. The view was amazing as was the food. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I started with the creamy lobster soup. It was delicious with big lumps of crab meat in it. Yummmmmm.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB171183-1.jpg

Jay had the seafood and crab souflee served with creamy lobster sauce. This was also amazing. Easily a rival to my lobster soup!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB171184.jpg

For entrees I had the tuna served witha soy glaze and wasabi mashed potatos. The tuna was AMAZING and the potatoes were the perfect side dish. I cannot express this enough. It was delicious. Jeremy even loved it and he is NOT a fish person.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB171187.jpg

He on the other hand had the steak which was served with a beef demi glaze and potatoes au gratin. While he enjoyed it was steak it wasn't nearly as good as my tuna. He had broken the cardinal sin of ordering steak at a fish restaurant.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB171188.jpg

For dessert we had the chocolate wave. This was heavenly. Also, we had the pineapple cake which was also good!

Overall we really enjoyed Coral Reef and was one of our favorite restaurants of the trip. The fact that its not a signature restaurant amazes us. We'd give it a B+!

We ate our lunch at Tusker House at the Animal Kingdom. There was a long wait but it moved pretty quickly.

I had the chicken salad. I have to be honest, it was REALLY bad. Like, airport bad. Don't order this!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB181255.jpg

Jay had the fried chicken sandwich with fries which was MUCH better! It was actually very good!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB181256.jpg

For dessert I had the best carrot cake I've ever tasted. It was moist and the icing was heavenly :cloud9: YUMMMMMMM!

Jay had the chocolate cake which was also delicious.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB181257.jpg

Overall we'd give tusker house a C+.

For dinner we ate at Boma. We love this restaurant because we love trying all kinds of different foods. Again, Boma did not disappoint.

I started out with a Carrot/Ginger soup. It was different and good!

Jay started out with the lamb stew which was also yummy.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB181300.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB181299.jpg

This was followed by mix salads. The watermelon rind salad, salad with an apple citrus dressing, some sort of pasta salad and avocodo salad. Again, all different and good.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB181301.jpg

On to the main course. This included mealy bread (I highly recommend), barbeque chicken, amazingly tender prime rib and an assortment of all delicious and different things. I'm sorry that I don't remember the names of everything!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB181306.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB181307.jpg

For dessert we basically tried one of everything. All were delicious! Dessert as per usual was my highlight of the meal!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/k_molinari/PB181311.jpg

We highly recommend going to Boma at least once. We'd give it a solid B!

I keep reading all wonderful reports on Boma. It is the only buffet meal that we are going to and it seems that I made a wise choice because all the food I see looks great! All I can say is YUM! :)

BriarRosie
12-05-2006, 07:23 PM
And the cool thing about Boma is that the menu changes on a three-day
rotation. Until I hear otherwise, of course. ;) You can potentially eat there
three days in a row without getting the same menu twice.

Some items never seem to "go away". I think the roasted tomato soup is
always on the "pod", for example. There's always some meat on the carving
station, and the desserts never disappointed me.

Glad Boma is still yummy. :)
