I've just recently found out about the disney club programme, do you think it is sensible to join the disney club as well as the DVC. Have any of you joined both?

By the way I'm already a DVC member since '99.

I use the Disney Club for three things mainly.
1. The discount at National Car Rental.
2. The 5% discount off our 4 AP's.
3. The Disney Magazine.

We were MKGold Club (what DC used to be called) members before we joined DVC. There are several discounts that are the same for both, but we have kept our DC for the discount on APs and other tickets, too!

I just joined DVC and was not going to renew my DC membership. However, I had been able to obtain some great rates at WLV over Xmas which I cancelled when I got even better rates at Vero. Both had been obtained using the DC membership. In fact, the rates in both instances were so low, I wouldn't even dream of using points (the range worked out to be $4 to $7 per point.) I figure that I may use DC in the future for booking the point-expensive weekends. Also, in California, you get great discounts with a DC card whereas if you pull out your DVC card, all you get is "What's that?"

Our discount on park hopper purchases pay for our annual DC membership and we love the Disney Magazine so we have both DVC and DC.

We have both, had the DC before we became DVC members. I use the DC for the 10% discount at Disney Stores, esp at World of Disney at WDW. They give the discount to both DC & DVC (?) and we do our major shopping there when at WDW. I do shop at the Disney store and from the catalog some. Always use the DC discount on tickets for the parks.

We use our DVC card for 10% discount at Disney stores, but doesn't it also give you discount for annual passes?

No DVC discount on AP's. Only on UMP's.

We recently became DVC owners and have been DC members for 3 years. The magazine is great. Sometimes you get a coupon or two for 10 to 15 percent off a meal at a Disney restaraunt and the card looks good along with the DVC membership card and the Castaway Cay card from DCL.

We watch where our money goes and if something does not provide a return on the investment we would no longer renew. Disney Club at 40.00/yr is a no brainer as far as we are concerned. Between the Disney stores and 2 trips a year to WDW how can it not be.

We have both for basically the same reason that Disnydad has them. Usually one or two discounts when you are travelling offset the cost of DC. The discount at National on its' own is worth while. In Nov. we had a full size or better car w/ the discount for $97/wk. + taxes! We are also members of the Emerald Aisle Club.

Make sure you read your DIsney Club stuff carefully...you can get a $40 game card at any ESPN zone for $20 (you can get up to 4 of these). That alone makes up for the cost.
