LOL....well, I was thinking that around 6 p.m., I'd be STARVING for all sorts of food...our servers (even Palo!) brought us MORE than we asked for. That diet I was on? Pphffttbb. I'm gonna have to change my workout from 1 hour a night to 2 for the next few ;)

In the clubs what did they do to replace the band they took away?

What was your opinion of it?
Did you miss the live music at the sail away party?

Momx4:

I was on the same cruise. Never got to do the after dinner clubs (had late seating, felt really late when we were done) so I can't comment on them, but I did think the sail away party was lacking a lot. The cast members tried their best to do a "back street boys" type dance thing... but in a word it was 'lame'. I did mention this in the comment card. No band at Castaway Cay either, just a DJ which many people ignored once Lilo and Stitch left. Everything else though (aside from the weather, although not cold was overcast... too cold for me to go in the h2o at castaway cay, and its REALLY cold in Florida... wow, next time I will go earlier in the year) was FANTASTIC. There will definitely be a next time!

Stepharoonie: Can't wait to hear about the art auction. We missed it unfortunatley - my 3 yr. old decided to take an extra long nap (1st in ages) during that time, but I'm dying to hear what I missed. I do have the booklet... and some of my favorite artists are in there. Was it really expensive? Heard they offered free martinis.... did that loosen everyone up? Did you purchase anything? If so, what? Can't wait for your report!

:thumbsup2

It was significantly warmer down there than here in Central Fla.. when we got off the boat this am, it was like "wow, it's cold!", came home started the gas fireplace for the 1st time since probably March and the heat! That being said, still too cold for me to go swiming, although I did get in the water for the dolphin encounter - and it was worth every goosebump! (Those from the north however, would have probably found the water warm! :rotfl: )

MCourtney--
Yes, we did find the water at CC to be verrry comfy--in CT the ocean water temp is always hovering in the 60's, maybe low 70's at summer peak :teeth: . When you get in the water here, you get so numb you can't feel how cold it is after a while, but it is refreshing on a hot summer day. We were thrilled to be in such nice warm ocean water in November (and the clearest blue I've ever seen).

Hey...was your DH the one who randomly walked up to me outside of Beach Blanket Buffet and say, "Hey, I recognize you from your picture!" I was like..."HUH??" LOL. The man said that he looks at the DISBoards, I asked him his screenname and he said something then took off. No idea who he was!!

Hey there!

We never made it to any of the clubs...Maddy wasn't very interested in the kids club, so we usually took her back to the room at the end of the evening.

The sail away music show wasn't that good. I called the girls at work just so they could hear the horn, but the show was pretty "eh". Even the Pirates In The Carribean party (aside from the very end with Christiaan dancing and the fireworks) was just "eh".

I will say that there was something wrong in our room. I'm not sure if they spray something on the sheets, or the room itself, but the minute Maddy would lay down to go to sleep she would have these HORRIBLE coughing fits. I thought she was going to throw up a few times because she was coughing so hard. During the day...nothing. Even now, her room is right next to me, and I haven't even heard her so much as clear her throat. It made for a miserable sleeping experience. I'm not kidding, I'm talking 3-4 hours of her straight coughing. Uuuggghhhh.

The water in CC was a little shocking for about a minute or so...but once you got into it, it was fine. DH and I went snorkeling for about two hours, and he was a little freaked out that the fish were so interested in him and his feet. I wish I had taken an underwater camera, but we didn't.

Had a massage in the open air cabana on the adult side...it was mighty chilly in there. It was still really relaxing, but very, very pricey. Probably would have enjoyed it a little more had it been a little warmer.

Here are some pics to tide you over until tomorrow, guys...

That is horrible! Ours was fine, luckily, and I am really sensitive to cerain smells, etc... and didn't notice anything except the layer of dust on the headboard which I promptly removed. I'm so sorry.... our DD has had bad coughing fits before, and it is NO FUN. :sad2:

This was the first time my DH had been in that close quarters with Maddy...and it drove him nuts. I had to explain that it wasn't like she was causing herself to do that...I mean, I literally went through almost an entire bottle of Triaminic nighttime cold/cough medicine to try to get her to stop. It was strange. Paul ended up with ear plugs after awhile ;)

No - that was me. Sorry, but you seemed to be in a hurry to get someplace and I did not want to keep you. We were constantly "on the go". I had hoped to see you again. You actually were checking in right next to me at the port on Thursday around 1:30, but I was not SURE it was you. Anyway, I've not finished reading this thread, but look forward to your trip report. I'll be posting one hopefully today - but I am working right now. Well, OK, I have a job. Not sure "working" is the right word to use.

OMG, that happened to us too, on the Sept 16 DD. My DD has allergies, which usually only bother her in the springtime. But something in that room had hers going, because she had a cough the whole week! I kept having our room steward change the pillow, the sheets, the blanket, but nothing helped. I had to buy cough medicine on board, and give it to her before she went to the Lab, because I was afraid they would not let her in, thinking she was contagious or something!

Of course, it cleared up the minute we left the ship!

You were the one with the girl with the roses, right? Because those two kept looking at me, and I couldn't figure out if I had something on my face or not ;) Hehehe...

We were in a slight hurry, but I would have stayed to chat with you! :) It's always nice to meet people from here :) It was just funny how you blurted out how you recognized me from my picture...it took me a moment to understand what you had meant :)

Yeah, "working"....not really my thing today... :)

Oh, wait...maybe that wasn't you with the girl with the roses. I just read another one of your postings, and it said you were traveling with others....were you with a group of people on CC that had a hammock and a bunch of chairs in a circle on the family beach?

NOPE. We did not actually spend all of our time with the others except for dinner. I just put up my trip report and I have a link with photos. Maybe you will recognize us or one of the other couples.
