Hey Gang,

I'm a veteran Disney World patron. But a complete newbie when it comes to cruising. DW and I leave on our first Disney Cruise next Saturday; and I'm wondering about evening attire.

We typically travel light, using our backpacks instead of checking luggage. But it sounds as though folks typically "dress" for dinner on cruises. Is this the case? and what kind of evening wear is appropriate?

Also, it sounds like your wait staff travels with you from restaurant to restaurant. But do the other people at your dinner tabel travel with you each night? :surfweb:

Hi there! I am going on my first cruise in 3 weeks, but I think the answer to your question is yes, the same people follow you too.

I think you may have a better response to your question on the main Cruise Line Forum, instead of the Trip Reports :-)

Good luck and have so much fun! If you are on the wonder, leave some fun for us!!!

ETA: I see you leave Sat., so you must be on the Magic. Have a good time!

Yes people do dress for dinner. basically it is NO shorts or tank tops allowed in the restaurants.
Formal night men usually wear suits and sport coats, you will see a few tuxes, but not many.
Ladies you will see a few formals but mostly just nice dresses and pant suits.

Casual dining most night, men wear dockers or khakis with a collared shirt.
Women slacks and a nice blouse or a simple dress are common. What i would call church clothes.

Pirate night you can dress as a pirate or in tropical clothes. You will see both.

Yes you will have the same wait staff in each restaurant and all the people in your restaurant will travle with you. You will have the same table # in each restaurant but it may be in a different part of the restaurant than the last one was.

Thanks for the help!

Now I'm off to figure out how to get everything packed. And maybe work in some turkey between here and the cruise.

And I'll certainly stop by the other forum. pirate:
