DDP before getting room?

We will be arriving at approximately 10am, but resort check-in isn't until 4pm. We have the DDP as part of our package, but since the credits will be on the room key, will we be able to use the credits to get lunch ?

I'm assuming that it would probably be ok since we will need the card to get our tickets to head to the park anyway. Has anyone had experience with this situation?

We arrived at 8:30 am. on 11/5, BCV.
We checked in to drop off our bags. We were given a room key, although we did not have a room assignment yet.

We used our keys to charge DDP while in the parks. We returned in the afternoon, called the number on a card they gave us on the bus, and were given our room number. We went straight to our room, and our room key worked. Not sure how they do that, I was certain we had to get our keys re-zapped or something....Magic, huh?

So, if you check in regardless of the room being ready, you can start charging with your key!

You should not have any problems. You may also be lucky and have your room ready. We checked into CBR around 11:30 am or so and our room was ready - wasn't expecting that!
