Need help with using DVC points at Poly

We are booked at the Polynesian Dec. 7-9, 2001. We booked using DVC points because last year we couldn't get a resort on the Monorail line with a regular reservation. We booked this before they came out with all the discounts this year. Anyway, we want to fax our room request and I'm not certain what type of room/view you get when staying at the Polynesian using DVC points. When we used points a few years ago at the Contemporary, we were given a room in the Tower overlooking the main pool and Bay Lake. Any help would be appreciated! Lisa

We used DVC points the first week of December last year. We got a standard room (garden view, I guess). We had a little patio with some bushes around it. The pool was on the other side of the bushes. My only request was to be near the Great Ceremonial House. We were one building to the right as you face the entrance--Raratonga, I think it was.

I just answered a similar question on the resorts board, I think. We used DVC points at the Poly this September and had a 3rd floor lagoon view room in Tahiti. It's my understanding that through the end of 2001, DVC members have "run of the house", meaning if a good view is available, you can get it, but starting next year, if you want lagoon over garden, you have to spend more points to get it.
