I am a day late in starting this. You know what they say...Better late than Never! :thumbsup2

We arrived at the terminal yesterday a little after 10am. Let me first say that we stayed at the Airport Hyatt. Much to our surprise and pleasure they took our bags directly from our hotel room to the ship. It does not get any better than this. We were a little nervous as we had not paid for the transfers, but our luggage did arrive in our cabin around 345pm. :thumbsup2 for the Hyatt. We also used around the clockusa transportation, they were on time and the bus (there are 23 of us) was clean and comfy.

We arrived at hte terminal and everyone on the bus was giddy with excitement at the first sight of the ship. We went directly to security, no lines and then proceeded to check in with a short wait, but the lines moved quickly. All in all it was painless. We managed to meet a few other DISers in the terminal which helped get the party started and time go by quickly. Let me digress for a minute for all my fellow lurkers. I met people who were normal. I was sceptical at first, after all this was our "Family vacation" and I was not really interested in hanging out with other folks. Guess what...they all had the same goal. They all wanted to enjoy their family vacations. If I had to do it all over again, I would not change a thing. It was nice to be able to put names to faces and when you pass in the corridor to be able to say hello. Now back to the trip report...live.

The longest line was for the parents to register their children. Hopefully someone who has children will share that experience here as well.
We boarded around noon and went to change our Palo ressies and then on to Parrot Cay for lunch. Our Cabins were ready as soon as lunch was over. The weather here was wonderful. Sunny and warm. I DH promptly went to the balcony and took a nap before we set sail.

We all met at 3pm for a DIS meet in the Promenade Lounge. Let me tell you that the staff was still talking about the October DIS meet. :teeth: We also are dong DIS Tag (thanks Txagggie for organizing that) and met at the same time to get our packet and magnet. We posed for a large group picture, said our farewells and returned to our cabins to find luggage :cool1: . Then we proceeded to the muster drill with the new life vests. It was great to be able to see with the vest on and not have it chocking you.

On to the sailaway party, which was a little windy, but festive. Then promptly to dinner. That early seating does make for some rushed moments so plan accordingly.

We asked for APL early seating and we got it. Our dinner is at 530pm. Our waiter is Sunny and his asst's name escapes me at the moment. Our seating was not correct and their was not enough room for our group, but not to stress this is Disney and they will correct the problem.

After dinner went and unpacked and then turned in the pillow cases at guest services. We signed up for Tea with Wendy and martini tasting. We checked out the shops and then went to diversions for some adult entertainment. The theme was 60's night and the band was Ntwine, they were quite good. Then off to bed for some much needed sleep.

What a wonderful day :sunny: . The temp was in the low 80's and their was only a slight breeze. :thumbsup2

We went for our morning jog/walk on deck 4 and then onto breakfast. We had a shore excursion at 930am. DH and I did the nature walk and kyacking. It was wonderful. It is a long walk and I learned that I should have worn sandals or socks with my water sneakers. The kyacking was great. We were in the "Castaway Creek" we had a stingray swiming around us, some fish and our tour guide, Joey, managed to catch 2 land crabs. She was going to have them for dinner tonight. She was a local from the nearby island.

We had lunch at serenity bay and then returned to the ship. Showered and did some DIS tag. Which is great because I have had a chance to see more of the ship than I would have.

I will finish more later as the cove cafe is closing.

Edited to add others experiences.

My DSis and her Dh went on the glass bottom boat. They felt it was great for kids. Their highlight was a nap on the beach :thumbsup2

Others rented bikes and tour the island. It is not a long ride (about 1 hour). The bikes were comfy. The trails were not that bumpy and the only downside was the lookout tower was closed for repairs. Looks like that tower will give you a great view of the island and is a great pit stop.

what is a dis tag?

It is a game that you put goodies ($1 - $2.00) in a bag and leave them on the fish hook of each participant. That is a very breif version of the game. There are 21 of us playing and when you leave a gift you leave a magnet. Then you take the magnet and a gift and tag the next person on your list.

Hope this gives you at least an idea. The stuff has been really neat. From post cards to maple pins (from Canada), candy, note pads, post cards, bracelets and such. We even received Tenn. booze and BBq sauce. Some bags have been creative and some crafty.

Great way to explore the ship.

Thanks to Dee for starting the thread.

The best thing about the cruise is definately the 2 trips to castaway cay. Remeber that empty, wish I could tell my boss to take this job and....,hope I can come back someday, feeling you get when you hear the whistle blow and you start to pull away from castaway cay (aka paradise). Well on Sunday as we left that feeling was no where to be found. Just wonderful thoughts of knowing you'd be back again in a few days. Now, I have no idea how it is going to feel come end of day Friday as we pull away for the second time. I have received a special prescription from my MD to help me over the ordeal. A couple of green olives followed by 2 straight shots of grey goose. He told me to repeat every 17 minutes until I am feeling happy again. If I am able to post after my medicine I will try to give some insight.

DIS Tag was great. Can't tell you how much excitement my 4 kids had every time we got a little surprise on the fish hook. At one point they were going to the door every 15 minutes to see if something new appreared. My kids are experienced boo - ers so they insisted on knocking and running every time we tagged someone. This, of course, took much advance planning. You see, my little guys, DS8 & DS7, can run like cheetahs. However, I am more like an aligator. Really quick for about 15 - 20 feet, then really slow for the remainder of the get away. So, since they could not reach the fish hook I would have to carefully & quitely place the goodie bag on the firsh hook, go down the hall a good ways, give them the signal to knock and then try to exit stage left as quickly as possibly. Thanks to every one for playing.

Palo Brunch is not to be missed. I strongly recommend you get on the Disney Cruise web site and book the brunch as soon as you can. This one fills up fast. The dessets, the ambiance, the desserts, the service, the desserts, the food, the desserts, are amazing. Also, try a venetian dream drink after your champagne. It was invented by the head bar dude on the Magic and is awesome. Has like 4 oucnes of various boozes in it and you think you are sipping a refressing lignt fruity drink. Just be careful afterwards. DW and I spent about 30 minutes riding the elevator afterwards cause we forgot what floor we lived on and couldn't read the floor numbers on the key pad. We were finally saved by a very nice 7 year old girs who was very good at pressing the buttons and remebered our DS7 from the clubs and new what floor we lived on.

Pirate night is as much fun as you can have with your clothes on. Had our picture made with Captain Jack. You know how you see all the families take a family picture with Mickey or Goofy or some other character and then they take one with just the kids. Well, I really felt sorry for the kids when it came to Captian Jack. Moms and teen age girls where shoving thier kids or younger simblings out of the way to get close to the Captain. The little kids never had a chance. The pirate deck party afterward is high energy and tons of fun. Seeing the fire works while on the high seas is something else. Also, Mickey makes a great entry just before the fireworks but I do not want to spoil the surprise. Just stay alert.

Will add more later.

Dee, thanks so much for starting this thread! I'm working on my trip report and hope to post it after we get back! It has been so much fun meeting everyone   Got to say my thoughts on Ntwine may not be the same as yours though.... they do put on an entertaining show, but their vocals sometimes remind me of American Idol. They can have some good songs and some bad songs-Sounds like a Randy comment. I'd hate to hear what Simon has to say, but Paula would love the way they dress! :dance3:

If ever you see ANGEL from Cove Cafe, could you please kindly ask him his phone number and PM it to me, his wife also works in Signals, she makes the best MOJITO. And to ask him also of his wife's email address. Just tell ANGEL that it is MISS PIA (Ana) asking for his phone # & his wife's email address.

Hello from the Magic - GrayFal and chichihoney here.

I agree with everything everyone said - WOW - what a cruise!!!

The two stops at CC are GREAT!!!
We did the Dune Buggy and Snorkel Trip on Cozumel which was wonderful - what a beautiful island - hurricane damagae still apparent but coming back fast. The dock has only been re-opened for 3 weeks so it was great not to have to tender.

Costa Maya - did the Ivan and David tour - a little HOT but worth the effort - I would say not for young kids.

Almost didn't get back to CC the second time - Captain Thord had to try twice because of very strong winds but we made it.
Sitting at Topsiders and watching the ship dock was awsome!

Snorkeling on the family beach was wonderful -
last Sunday we stayed at Senerity Bay ...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :thumbsup2

Will post more when I return home but this is my third trip as a DISer and all I can say is what a great bunch of people we have met.
As Dee said, DO NOT BE Afraid :rolleyes1

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

We miss you too Jen!!!! :grouphug:

What a fantastic time we had and it made it even more special to see and play with fellow DISers. And the DISers were everywhere....on the parasailing excurstion, the Royal Dolphin Swim, we OWNED the David & Ivan ruins tour, they were on banana boats and Eco tours and to our DELIGHT at our dinner table!

APL TABLE 10 ROCKS! :thumbsup2 Who knew four women could make such a ruckus? :confused3 Janice and Linda, thanks for all the laughs! Our servers were Dwight and Angelina and they were the best ::yes::

Got lots more to tell but must find food (and I NEVER thought I'd be saying that again), as we've been living off crackers and such since breakfast.

We stood on line in the port for 20 minutes and were still halfway from the front, then I went over and asked a Disney rep if we could check our kids in at the club, he told me yes, and that the line would be a lot shorter, so we skipped the in-port check-in and went to the club after lunch. We checked our kids in in about 10 minutes.

Skip the line at the port.

Hi everyone
Thanks FGM for starting this thread. We had a MAGICAL time to say the least. The trip was so much more magical running into our Dis friends. I would love to write a trip report so hopefully life wont get in the way. I did come home with a terrible cold but its my own fault. I never slept for more then 4 hours any night. My body is yelling at me this morning....

Well, we are home safe and sound. I wish I could write a trip report, but I cannot remember what happened. I am unsure what I did. It is a blur. I guess I had one to many venetian dreams. :rotfl2:

I wish I would have posted daily so I could have used it as a journal. :confused3

I enjoyed meeting you guys. This was a very memorable trip and I loook forward to the repo. David and Alison were fantastic hosts and I want to thnak you both again for the entertaining Palo bruch. What a privilage and delight.

The David and Ivan tour was interesting and hot. My DGD 10 did good, but we are glad that DN 6 and DGD 5 months did not come. A lot of climbing, walking and listening. We had David and he was awesome. Nice to look at as well. It is hard sometimes to understand him, but he has a passion for the ruins and the history.

The Castawy tour and Kayacking was great fun as well.

The excareot eco tour in Cozumel was GREAT.

We did not get to parasail because of the winds.

Jackie and Peggy..what can I say. If you serve me with a restrining order I will leave you alone. Otherwise I am going to be the best afterthought/fill in friend you could have. :rotfl2:

Linda..thanks for hosting the hot chocolate.

Susan..love the room and want it.

Sugarplum, we did get a peek from the hall and rebooked for two of them. Tell your DH thanks for the entertainment. He was a real hoot.

Mitamel...adorable family and nice chatting with you.

Well, I can not think anymore. There is so many people I wanted to address. I will have to come back when my memory does. :rotfl2:

She told me she got off the boat Saturday, was going to NY for a week and then home for the rest of her two months off. Apparently, they work seven months on and two off.

The tall, regal lady who played Cruella and Wicked Stepmom in the shows also told me at our private thingie that they all left Saturday, too. When I asked "to where" she said "To other things." Apparently, all those show people are gone. She said another crew had been there for two weeks learning the shows. I'm really glad we got the seasoned vets.

It was so funny yesterday we went to AK and when we came out of the nemo musical we were greeting by 8 crew members who just left the ship. Of corse they recognozed Angelina and came over to chat. DH recognized who he called "the bad sister"way to funny. Prince charming was also with them. Really great group of kids. They were all part of entertainment and are all hopping to return.

Leaving that ship was one of the hardest things... ever. What a great vacation!

Going over the photos from the DIS meet my mind was flooded with memories! I cannot begin to think about what that cruise would have been like without all those wonderful moments in the hallways, clubs, bars, hot tubs, rooms, etc that gave me a chance to get to know all you NOT AXE murderers!!!

Thanks to: David, Suz, Linda for the rooms tours, and drinks! Not to mention the Palo brunch David. It was so nice to be able to sit and share "life" with you, Dee, Alison and Nancy!

One thing I know for sure, as crazy and wacky as we can all be in our moments, we all share one thing... LOVING Disney, loving our families and wanting to have some fun!

Dee - special thanks not only for thinking of me for the pillow case signature, but for the gift card as well. You and Winn are now part of the crazy southwest sisters!

Linda, Deb, Pat, Linda, Janice, Dee & Winn - MUCH thanks for one of the most LAUGH out loud moments (evening) on the ship!!!!

Jaypd - so glad we had a chance to visit~your DW is so sweet - was she overwhelmed with us crazy folk? Hope your trip home was safe.

Clynne / Surly - so many memories, too little time - thanks for taking care of all my photos - don't forget to let me know about FEBRUARY!! Also, keep your fingers crossed for the 2008 cruise! DH wants to know why we were the only two drinking at Costa Maya ...

Pat/Tom - meeting you two was one of my highlights - I will NEVER forget the laughs - "what is said on the ship - stays on the ship!"

Sarah - I miss walking the decks, sharing stories and dinner together! Give the mins a huge hug for me!

Linda / Ed - David/ Alison - you two couples are some of the nicest people on the planet! I will not forget you.

Melanie from Mississippi - so glad we had a chance to meet and yes, your DH is hunky! Not to mention those little girls, oh my GOD they are too cute for words.

Janice & Linda - we couldn't have been more blessed with dinner mates! Please, please keep in touch - I can still hear Janice laughing in my head!

Devin/Michelle & txaggie - thanks for the lovely chat at the DIS lunch - it was good getting to know you guys.

Pandamom - what a great day at Cozumel - aren't you glad we did it? I am over the top on that one...

Jack - we never did manage to be at the bar at the same time... but I'm so glad we had a chance to meet!

SueEllen - I'm go glad your Anniversary day turned out to be good! It was so nice to be able to visit at Palo - you looked beautiful!

Michelle - Vito - V jr and Angelina - THANK YOU - we ran into you guys more than anyone, and it sure was a pleasure each and every time! How did V jr make out on all his pin trading? Have you guys caught up on your sleep yet?

I know what you mean about lack of sleep - NO one in my family would believe I was up before Jackie some mornings and up past midnight! I made up for it last night I slept 12 hours!!!

I have to get back to work - TO BE CONTINUED!!!!

If he had dinner with Woody, he never mentioned it to me. Then I guess what happens on the ship stays n the ship.
