Well we are back from Banff. Had some interesting weather... the kids had great fun! Here are a few pics.

This was taken from the top of sulphur mountain before the monster blizzard hit. Yes we
were up there when it hit!

Here is a herd of elk on the highway. There was approx 50 in the herd.

Here they are licking the road salt off the highway. Back when my Dad was a Federal Park Ranger they used to put out salt licks out for them to keep them off the highway. I am unsure if they do this anymore...lol maybe not since they are all on the road!

Great pics - thanks for sharing. :thumbsup2 We're so close, yet don't seem to have the time to travel the 3 hours for a Banff fix any more. :confused3 We have many pictures of the wildlife on the highway ... in the Spring you get the young ones following Mom and Dad - so cute!

Great pictures...Thanks for sharing. Banff is a beautiful place. Sulphur mountain brings back some tiered memories, my husband and I hiked up it and took the gondola down.

We have stayed there before. Since we were there last they have done a lot of upgrades. It was definitely nicer than the last time we were there!

OMG I am so embarrassed to admit this. NOT only did we go to the candy store we spent 65 dollars on candy. I have enough root beer barrels to last me until June LOL:lmao:

Holy cow!! Or should I say holy Elk!!! I have never seen that many elk before around the area. I have seen a lot of mountain goats, but that must have been so cool!!

As far as the blizzard on top of Sulphur mountain I bet that was an interesting trip down on the gondola. Did they shut down for any period of time for the blizzard to pass?

my favorite candy store indulgences are bear claws, tortoises, basically anything with chocolate, caramel and some kind of nut mmmmmmmmm candy! (Although i have never even come close to spending $65 on candy!)
