We are heading to Disney in June for 5 days for our first DVC trip. Our purchase was SSR so we would like to try out our "home" for at least a couple of those days. Then we would love to try BWV or BCV for another
couple/three days so we can see another resort.

Is it a big hassle to switch DVC resorts in the middle of your trip? Any advice?

Thanks -

Not that big of a deal you can have Bell services move your bags for you. Then you just have to recheck-in at the new place.

I did not think switching resorts was that bad - but I do wish that I had packed the bags more with the switch in mind. I usually pack one bag per member of the family. I wish I had packed separate bags for each resort instead.

I'd also plan my dining/park days around the resort you stay in. If you are going to try for an Epcot area resort, them do Epcot/MGM those days.

I suggest that you pick one resort for this trip... and a different resort for your next trip. Since you bought DVC... you are planning mulitple trips. Let each one be different... and less hassle.

Oh, I totally agree with this. It is often frustrating to be homeless on the day you move out. And for a trip as short as yours, I'd stay put on this trip. Then on the next, try another resort (and book it exactly at 7 months to make sure you get it). You'll be going for the next 46 years. That gives you a lot of time to try out other resorts.

Not with DVC, but I have changed resorts at WDW in the middle of a trip before and it was no big deal, except at all star movies we encountered about a 45 minute check in line. Other than that it was a pretty simple thing to leave the first hotel as normal, visit the park, and when we returned, we simply went to the second resort. Effectively, our "homeless" time was the day we were at the park.

We did switch resorts last month.

Stayed at SSR then OKW. Not a hassle. The desk arranged to have us and our bags
moved. Then just checked in. Loved seeing two places on one trip.

Do it !
