Anyone know which building in POR has the handicapped accessible rooms? Is it all buildings or just one or two? How about the Contemporary Tower- are the rooms on a particular floor? DH will be using a wheelchair when we go in June (DD is dancing in Tommorrowland) and August (my 40th B-day celebration :woohoo: )because of his MS and I was courious where these rooms were in proximity to the buses and food court/restaurants.
Thank you for your help!

Room 1401 at POR is an accessible room. It has a king size bed and roll-in-shower. DS requires a hospital bed, however we did have to have them remove the table and a nightstand in order to make it work. We were able to keep the connecting room door clear for easy access. (we also had the connecting room 1402) It's on the corner of the building in close proximity to the South Depot. It is also very close to the food court. We stayed there with DS in October. It was a great room location. Hope that helps.

I don't have the exact answer myself to your question, but if you click on where it says "disABILTIES!" at the top of this page it will take you to the index. The second item down is a sticky with information about accessible room locations and measurements. That should have answers to both your questions.

Thank you for your quick reply!!! Your information did help and I really appreciate it- now I have another question- are all handicapped accessible rooms fitted with a king size bed? There are 3 of us and I only reserved one room.
Thanks!

Some resorts have only king sized bed rooms with roll in showers. Others have an assortment of king size beds and 2 double/queen size beds with roll in showers. POR has a mixture of both types of rooms in various buildings, some in the Aligator Bayou section and some in the Mansions section. I have personally stayed in a room in Building 14 in the Alligator Bayou section and a room on the 3rd floor of the Oak Manor building(I think Oak Manor) that had 2 double beds and a roll in shower.

Sorry- me DH LOVES the Beatles "Lookalikes"- (their name escapes me- and has been wanting a picture with them for a while but something always seems to happen each time he says he is going to get a picture with them and we don't get to meet them. Maybe in June.....

Just to echo- we have been in both room types at POR...first time there was in the Alligator Bayou section, bldg 14, close to food court, party of 3 and two double beds/roll in shower. Once we were a party of two and thus had a king bed...third floor one of the Mansions buildings. We've been a few other times but can't recall where the rooms were located- they at least have both room types- double beds and kings for fully accessible rooms. I'm not sure about the Contemporary Tower but no matter where those rooms are located you'll have a very convenient location. Congrats to your daughter!---Kathy
