This is my first attempt at a trip report, so please bear with me! :) We booked a 10 night stay at the Beach Club.

Day - 1 - 10/08/06

My wife and I got married 10/7 in New Jersey and were flying out of Newark at 2pm the following day. We got to the airport and were sent to three different security gates before finally getting to our gate. We left about a half an hour later but the flight was smooth and uneventful(I HATE flying) and we landed early around 4:30. I was worried that the plane would clog my ears like it normally does, but fortunatly that didn't happen. On the way to baggage claim, Happy Limo called to check our status(I thought a limo would be a great start for the honeymoon.) I told her we arrived at baggage claim and were waiting for our luggage. And waiting. And waiting.

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon016.jpg

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Newark forgot to load 3 carts of luggage and they will be on the next flight which should arrive in a half an hour."

Wonderful. I call Happy Limo to tell them our situation and she tells me that if I intend to keep the limo, she has to start charging me $1 for every minute until we call back. I tell her to let me check with the wife. Well as soon as I start explaining everything, she(Tracy) immediately gets angry and I have to walk away so the woman on the phone doesn't hear what she has to say. I remember going "Oh my God she's mad." I hang up and try to calm the wife down and tell her it's ok. I call the Happy Limo woman and tell her that it's ok, I want to keep the limo, so start charging me. She said she'll waive the charge if we tip the driver well. She gives me the drivers number to call when we finally get our stuff.

We eventually take a seat on the ground along with several other angry people and try to calm down. So far it's not a great start to the honeymoon, but we've got 10 days! The next plane finally arrives and our luggage shows up and I call the driver and he meets us right out front.

The limo was amazing. I haven't ridden in many limos before but this one was just awesome. He had Finding Nemo in the DVD player for us :)

We were finally on our way to the World and start our Disneymoon!

Traffic was pretty rough but we didn't mind, we were finally relaxing and watching Nemo. We had an 8pm ADR for Portobello Yacht Club so we figured we'd just be able to make it. I tried to take a picture of the Welcome to DisneyWorld sign, but at my angle and lighting it didn't really turn out.

Day 1 - Part 2

We arrived at the Beach Club shortly after 6. I tipped the driver $35 and we were on our way to check in! This is were things turned sour once again.

There was no line so we went right up to the desk and greeted by a cheery CM. I gave her my name and she saw it was our honeymoon and congratulated us and gave us cool "Just Married" pins.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/DSC00989.jpg

She looked at the computer for a minute and then said she'd be right back. At first I'm thinking she has to tell the people to put the stuff I ordered from Disney Florist. A balloon with chocolate, half a dozen roses and two bags of rose pedals. 5 minutes later she returns and says that they're offering a free one night stay at the Contemporary. We look at each other and mull it over and decide it would be easier to stay at just one resort, so we decline.

"Just give me another minute."

And she's gone again. My smile is slowing going away. We have no idea what is happening. 5 minutes later she returns again.

"If you don't take the Contemporary offer, you'll be in a double on the first floor with no option to change rooms."

"Are you overbooked?" I asked.

"We're encouraging our guests to stay at the Contempory. But when you come back tomorrow, you'll have a king room on the concierge for the entire rest of your stay."
We agree(reluctantly) to the offer. We basically had to, we didn't want to spend our honeymoon crammed into a double bed.

"So, how do we get there?" I ask.
"Give me another minute." And she's gone AGAIN. But this time not for long. She comes back to say that they've arranged for transportation free of charge to the Contemporary.

"So how do we get back here?
"You can use Disney transportation and have your luggage sent over." We weren't really thrilled with that because we had our dress clothes packed away and we had Victoria and Alberts chefs table the next night.

So we get bell services(the first of many tips for luggage). The car is right out front and the nice girl drives us over. We're a little down at this point but at the same time we're a little excited because our first park is Magic Kingdom and we can take the monorail for the opening.

We give our luggage to the bellman and go to check-in and wait. The line wasn't long, just slow. We finally get to desk and tell the girl our situation. She leaves. Where do these people go?? She comes back and tells us we have a king room for the night on the 11th floor. Then she holds up a calculator.
"This is the difference you'll have to pay."
"What? I have to pay? We were told it was free."
She's gone again. A few minutes later she comes back and says everything is taken care of. At this point we realize that we're going to miss our 8pm dinner, so I walk over to guest services and request a later time.
She prints our room keys and Tracy gets her new name on it. We go upstairs to check out the room and it's really nice.
And we get a surprise, a congratulations card from Mickey and Minnie with balloons!

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon027.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon026.jpg
I realize that the card says "Stephens" but that's ok :)

We call our parents and let them know we're ok and give them a rundown of the hotel debacle. We get changed and head out to the bus stop to wait for a bus to Downtown Disney. Seemed like forever but it finally showed up and we head to downtown. I had months to memorize all the maps but when we showed up, I went the wrong way and had to take the long way to Portobello. We check in and no more than 10 minutes go by and get seated. We were finally able to relax again and spent the dinner reminiscing about the wedding and all that had happened the day before. It hadn't yet sunk in that we were in Disney, but we knew that would change.
The food is very good, we went last year and loved it so we decided to go back. We had to pay OOP for this one, but that's ok. We started with a calamari appetizer which was a little bland. Tracy ordered the Farfalle with Chicken and I had the Frutti de Mare, which were both very good. I highly recommend the Frutti de Mare if you like pasta and seafood together. We passed on dessert because we were both really full.
After dinner we walk to the World of Disney store and buy are bride and groom ears. (The hat is cheaper than the bride ears) We see another honeymoon couple doing the same thing, but we didn't talk. This was the first of MANY Disneymooners we saw during our trip. We head back the bus stop and arrive back at the Contemporary late. I took this picture of Chef Mickey's that I think's pretty cool.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon028.jpg
I had trouble all trip taking pictures at night and in the dark but this one showed up pretty good.

At the room, I received a message from the Beach Club, asking if they wanted to bring over my gifts for Tracy. I had completely forgot about them! By this time it was too late so I called and said don't worry about it. We'll be back at the BC tomorrow. I arranged a wake up call for 7am and we fell asleep.

Up next, Day 2 - more hotel problems.

Day 2 - 10/9

I wake up bright and early, around 6:30am. At this point I get excited and realize that we're in Disney! I didn't wake the wife, waited for the wake up call and was surprised to hear Mickey and Stitch! This of course woke Tracy up and I told her we had to get up, we're in Disney!! I felt like a kid again. Since we didn't unpack, we showered and picked out our outfits for the day and called bell services to store our luggage. Here are some morning shots from the room.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon031.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon030.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon029.jpg
We put on our pins and bride and groom ears and made our way to the monorail.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon032.jpg
On the way down, I question whether or not our park tickets are on the cards. So we head down to guest services and I explain our situation and the CM says that everything is on the card, not to worry. I should have had him check, but I took his word for it.
We board the monorail and take a trip around Seven Seas Lagoon before ending up at the Magic Kingdom about 20 minutes before it opened. We walk to the turnstiles and place the card in and it kicks out immediately. We try again. It spit it out again. "This our your room cards" says the angry CM.
"So what do we do?" She points us over to Guest Relations were we explain our situation to him. He calls someone(he doesn't leave!) and says that when we transferred over to the Contemporary, they didn't transfer our park tickets so he printed a one day park hopper for us and when we get back to the BC tell them to fix it. So we thank him and go to the front gate and it works! We're now crammed just past the turnstile waiting for the opening and it was cute. I started filming it but my batteries died! I thought we just changed them! After they opened the park we ran into a lovely CM who gave us a big hug and congratulated us and talked to us for a couple minutes. I told her I needed new batteries so she walks us into the Kodak store and grabs some Energizer Lithiums. "These last a very long time", she says(foreshadowing) We thank her and I pay the $15 for 4 batteries.
We walk onto Main Street and take in the sight of the castle for the first time on our honeymoon. All the HCOE decor was gone so it was weird to see it plain, but I like it better without it. There was a crane behind it but it didn't matter.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon037.jpg
We head to the Main Street bakery and wait in the long line for breakfast. We didn’t even make it to the counter and the woman asked us what we wanted and we had no clue what else was there so we ordered the first things we saw. I got a cherry Danish and orange juice and Tracy had coffee cake with apple juice, both yummy. We used our snack credits for these. (I forgot to mention that we were on the dining plan for the trip)
After breakfast we decide that our first ride is going to be Pirates, so we head over there and walk right on.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon038.jpg
While I miss the old Pirates, the new one was really cool with the addition of Johnny Depp. His AA was so lifelike! Next was another fav in the Haunted Mansion. Another walk on. Man mornings are great!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon039.jpg
Liberty Square was very empty, so we decided to head towards Small World and Peter Pan.

Look, another honeymoon couple!
Next up was Mickey’s Philharmagic.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon044.jpg
If you’ve never done this before it’s a must. This was also a walk on so early but it definitely gets packed mid-day. It was a little visually overstimulating for some small children as we heard many cry and parents had to take them out.
We decide to head towards TomorrowLand and see what else we can walk on.
Look, Tigger!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon045.jpg
While on the way, we ran into the walking, talking trash can!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon046.jpg
I had heard and read about it but finally got to see it! The operator was just off to the side talking into his little mic and entertaining the children. Never try and bother him though, I saw a man walk up to say something to him and he ignored him and walked away.
By the time we hit Tomorrowland, a lot of the ride times were up but we decided to hit Space Mountain anyway since it was only 25 minutes. It’s a lot rougher than it looks, but still a very fun ride.
We then hit the TTA, which is a nice relaxing ride. On the way up, the CM put her hand out to tell us to wait a second before hitting the moving platform, but Tracy didn’t hear her and the CM tried to get her to stop but Tracy was already moving. Second time she’s gotten in trouble on the TTA :)
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon047.jpg
We did hear the announcer say “Metroliner” and we swear we have never heard that before. Is that new or did we not pay attention before?

Day 2 Part 2

It was pretty close to lunch time so we head to Casey’s Corner and get some hot dogs, fries and dessert. With the dining plan, you get a dessert for free. We didn’t eat them and even tried to give them away but we wound up just tossing them. It was pushing 2 o’clock by this point and we were a little sleepy but we had to head back to the BC to get our room(hopefully). We have to go back to the Contemporary to get our luggage so instead of relying on them to send our bags to the BC, we get a cab over. Like I mentioned before it was our Victoria and Albert’s Chef’s table evening and we had to make sure my suit and her dress were with us.
A few shots of Magic Kingdom

Year of A Million Dreams
On the way out we stop by one of the stores because I need a tie for dinner. I don’t know how to tie a tie and I left my pre-tied ones at home. I found a really cool red tie with black Mickey outlines on it. I told the woman I’d buy it if someone would tie it for me and sure enough they did!
Head back to the Contemporary by monorail and request our luggage and call a cab.
20 minutes and $20 later we’re back at the BC for try number 2 at check in. “Take two” we laugh to ourselves. A different girl says they have a room for us, but it’s on the first floor. I say that’s fine(foolishly thinking it’s a king). I see the girl who had sent us over to the Contemporary before and ask her about concierge and she said it was all taken care of. This is finally going our way!
We get our room keys and head to the room, open the door and guess what, a double bed. I leave her in the room and run back down and tell the girl she gave us a double.
“We don’t have any kings.”
“None at all? None tomorrow?”
So she checks through her system and comes up with a king room on the second floor for tomorrow.
“Now you’re positive that I’ll get this room tomorrow?”
She says they’ll call us tomorrow morning and ask if we want to confirm the room change. I go back to the room and tell the wife who is not too happy about it but I promised her that we’ll be in a king room tomorrow.
The bellhop arrives with our luggage and he is the nicest man ever. He was telling places to see and visit. I think his name After he leaves, he comes back 10 minutes later with gifts! I forgot about them again! The roses, rose pedals, chocolate and balloon and a gift basket from Tracy’s coworkers. You can’t really do a heart on double bed and have it be romantic so we put them in the fridge for later.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon049.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon024-1.jpg
Our dinner isn’t until 6:30 so the wife takes a nap and I watch some TV.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon063.jpg I had to kill a lizard that was hiding in our closet. It was small and I had to get rid of it before the wife saw it and freaked out that it was in our room. Be warned if you’re on the first floor of the BC or YC, you may get lizards!
We shower and get dressed and take a cab over to the Grand Floridian. We figured it would be easier since we were in our nice clothes and wouldn’t have to worry what time the buses would show up. We thought about the monorail but we’d have to walk through Epcot and transfer.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon064.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon053-1.jpg
We arrive at the GF and the CM knows exactly where we’re going and directs us to V & A’s. We’re early but head to check in and the nice woman tells us that it’ll be a few minutes so take a seat and she’ll come over when they’re ready. Now we have no idea what we’re in for, neither of us and even eaten here and we’re pretty excited to get the Chef’s table. I had to get up 6:45am EXACTLY 180 days from today to get this so I was hoping this would be a dinner to remember. The desk woman comes over and I notice she’s from Baltimore, where I’m from. We show her my watch (which has the Ravens on it) and we’re talking football and turns out she’s from the same neighborhood that I grew up! She said she’d try and give me score updates, it was Monday Night Football, Ravens and Broncos.
We’re met by the Maitre d' who walks us through the restaurant all the way into the kitchen to this nice little area.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon066.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon069.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon067.jpg
There were two chefs that night, one was Scott Hunnel and the other was a woman who’s name I can’t remember nor is it on the menu but we met with her and she was very nice. She said they have 10 courses at the chef’s table, as opposed to 7 in the dining room. We decided not to do the wine pairings so it was just food and diet soda.
The first course consisted of Smoked Salmon Custard, Deviled Quail Egg with Ostera Caviar and Tasting of Roasted Butternut Squash Cream, which were all fantastic. The Butternut Squash Cream was unbelievable.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon068.jpg
Unfortunately this was only picture of the food we took. We decided that we were going to take a picture of all the courses, but forgot about it after the first one and when we remembered it was too late so we didn’t bother.
We each had some different things, I would have one thing and Tracy would have another. Some courses were the same but we made sure to try everything. It was really neat to see the kitchen go to work to prepare everything, everyone had their own job and made sure everything was perfect. They got really busy at one point, and the chef didn’t have time to go over what we were about to eat but the waiter told us what everything was. We were starting to get full after the 7th course, but forced ourselves to eat all we could. There was a Foie Gras course that was in two preparations, one cooked and the other not. Well the not cooked one was awful, we both didn’t like it at all. But I had watched the chef prepare this one and they did something special for it so I felt bad if I didn’t eat it, so I forced it down, along with Tracy’s. I had water and a diet Coke and they were both gone right after that. There was a pre-dessert course which, to me, was actually better than the dessert itself. The main dessert was Carmelized Banana Gateau and Poached Pear with Cassis Mousse and Spiced Cake. I’m allergic to bananas so I had to switch with Tracy. We had to leave some leftover, we were too full to eat anymore. 3 hours later, our dinner was over. It was a once and a lifetime experience that we’ll always remember! We got our own personalized menu congratulating us and Tracy got a rose.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon001.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/DSC00990.jpg
If anyone wants to see the full menu, I can scan it or just type it out. I saw one similar to the one we have over at allearsnet.com.
After dinner, the woman at the desk grabbed me and walked me over to a bar where the game was being shown, which was tied at the moment. She was very sweet!
We browsed the gift shop and took the monorail over to the MK and grabbed the bus back to the BC where got changed and I turned the game on and Tracy fell asleep. I made another wake up call for 7am and eventually fell asleep.

Next up – Day 3, Epcot!

Hey thanks for including me and my wife in your trip report. That was us on IASW. I had to get her out of bed to show and we both had a good laugh. We had an awesome week also. Day 3 – 10/10/06

Woke up bright and early to Stitch and Mickey again. However after I hang up the phone I notice the red message light blinking. Turns out it was the front desk that had left a message around 6am letting me know that they have a king room for us and to call her back if we want the room change! I call immediately and tell her thanks much. We shower and get dressed and pack up the luggage again so the bellman can store it. Again.

We have Princess Storybook breakfast at 8:50 so the plus of staying at the BC is the easy walk to Epcot. We left about 8:30 and walk through the park. Apparently it was extra morning hours and no one was around, it was very nice and quiet.

Sorry for the mass amount of pictures but I thought they were too good to not put up.
We make our way over to Norway and check in and about 5 minutes later they call our name and as we head in they ask if we want to stand in line for Belle. They didn’t have this last year, all the characters walked around. Anyway, we get two-seater table by a pole and all of a sudden this waiter pops up from out of nowhere and starts talking to me. Well Tracy probably thought I was talking to thin air because she couldn’t see him. He eventually walked over and said hello to her and went on his merry way. Waiter shows up and tells us he’ll bring out the food in a few minutes. I have been looking forward to this breakfast since the last time we were here, the cheesy potatoes are awesome.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon083.jpg
Shortly after we started eating the Princesses start arriving. First up Jasmine, who is a favorite of mine so I had to get a picture. Not too thrilled with how I look, but I like how she looks
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon084.jpg
She told us congrats and that it was “A whole new world out there.”
Next up was Snow White, who is Tracy’s favorite so we both had to have a picture.

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon086.jpg
Mulan came through but was very speedy and didn’t really say much, but we did manage to get a picture.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon087.jpg
Sleeping Beauty said hello, congrats and kept walking. That was fine with me, I had my potatoes so I was pretty happy. Gave the waiter my “Key to the World” and when he got back we noticed that we were missing some dining credits, we were down by two. We think for second and realize that when we transferred back and forth, we lost a day so we needed to hit guest services back at the BC later.
After breakfast, we head over to The Land to ride Soarin’. The line was only 25 minutes long so we decided to wait. Wound up talking to a nice father in front of us who was with his son celebrating his anniversary. He lives near where Tracy grew up so that had a little bit to talk about. We get through and head towards the left and are asked to go to row 2. Watch the funny bit with Puddy and then are lead in and walk all the way to the end of the row. I have the end seat in the second row closest to the middle row. Now I’m a little nervous because I know we lift up and I hate flying. But as soon as we lifted off, it was amazing. This ride is a must do! It was unbelievable. We agreed to ride it at least one more time before the end of our trip.
We then walked over to the Seas with Nemo to see if the ride was open yet, but nothing was going on.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon091.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon096.jpg We made our way to the Imagination! pavilion to ride and there was a bit of a line which was a little surprising but it was no longer than 10 minutes so we went through the ride which is fun. Afterward we did the email a picture to your friend and family thing, but apparently that didn’t go through at all. It looked like everything worked but we called home later in the week and nothing, oh well.
Took this on the way

We wander around and notice the Character Connection. We’d read about it and wanted to try it so we head in and get in line. We see Mickey, Goofy, Minnie, Chip and Dale, Pluto and Belle.
The next pictures are from PhotoPass, which is must in Disney. If you’re not familiar with how it works, you walk up to a photographer and they give take your picture at least 3 times, scan the back of it and you hang on to it until you’re ready to leave. You can take the card to any location with a photopass vendor. They’ll go through the pictures and you can purchase the ones you want, or buy a CD for $100, which is what we did.
Us and Mickey

Minnie was cute, she grabbed Tracy and checked out her ring and made her pose with her hand out.

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/DisneyPhotoImage54.jpg
Chip and Dale seemed less then thrilled to see us, well me for that matter. Shook hands, moved on.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/DisneyPhotoImage53.jpg
Pluto was funny, he pushed me out of the way and grabbed Tracy. I put my groomears on him and they surprisingly stayed on! He was really cool and friendly.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/DisneyPhotoImage48.jpg
And lastly, poor Belle standing off to the side. No photopass photographer. No line for her. We got our picture with her because she just looked lonely.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon095.jpg

We decide to hit Mouse Gears to do a little shopping but didn’t buy much, just browsing for when we come back. Test Track was already long and we passed on Mission:Space and it was lunch time so we check out the Food and Wine Festival booths and pass on the first couple before settling on the Mexico one.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon097.jpg
We had Quesadilla con Chorizo y Pollo, which was very good. It was getting hot so we went to ride El Rio Del Tiempo, which I had never been on before. It was crowded at all, so the CM gave us our own boat! It was a nice small world replica, but it definitely needed an rehab because it smelled like old and the videos were clearly from the 70’s. I see now they are going to rehab the ride for several months!
After the nice cool down, we walk around to find some more food, but stop at Norway to ride the boat ride but it had just broken down so we kept going. Next up was China and the Pork Pot stickers which were also very good. Walked around the world some more, it was a beautiful day. A little warm but we didn’t mind.

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon101.jpg
Ended up at Italy booth and tried Timballo alla Penne e Capri which was eggplant with ricotta cheese and penne pasta, which was really good. We were having dinner at Alfredo’s but it didn’t bother us. It’s our Disneymoon!
**UPDATE** - Forgot to mention something. We wound up at Japan because Tracy had read about the woman who made "Candy,Caramel" animals. She had a little booth right in front and we were watching her. She is amazing, she'll make anything! She eventually makes her way to Tracy and she tells her to make a flamingo. I have a picture somewhere but apparently I didn't upload it so I'll have to add it later. Tracy was really excited because she read that she only makes them for kids. She couldn't wait to come home and tell the Disers :) I also have a video I should upload too.
By this point it’s mid-afternoon and we’re pretty tired so we walk towards the exit and see Beauty and the Beast in France. We’ve never seen the Beast out for a meet and greet!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon102.jpg
Walk back the hotel(Have you noticed the walk back is much longer than going to Epcot?) and went to check in. Again. This time I was pretty confident that we’d get our room, and sure enough we did! She printed out our room cards and I give my luggage card to the same nice guy from before. I think his name is Arneil? He remembered our names and was happy to get us our stuff. The room is right next to the elevator on the second floor, just outside of the quiet pool. From our room we can see water so definitely and upgrade. We still have concerirge access too. Once the bellman arrives, we take a sigh of relief and take in our new room. We can finally unpack! At this point I go down to guest services to get our dining credits taken care of and the woman said she’d have to leave a note with someone but they’d take care of it. I head back to the room and someone is napping again.

A room with a view! After some rest, we shower and get ready for our dinner at Alfredo’s at 7:30. Since we were so close we left around 7 and walked back to Epcot where it was PACKED. The Food and Wine Festival is popular! Walk to Italy and see a huge line behind a podium. At first we stand in it, but I look inside to make sure we didn’t need to be in there so I leave the wife and check it out and sure enough the line is for walk ups. Check in and wait about 20 minutes and then get seated and this place is hopping! We wind up sitting right next to(practically on top of) another honeymoon couple! I don’t think we got their names but they were very nice and from up north and it was her first time in Disney. We shared stories of weddings and Disney and had a good time while we ate. Tracy had Mozzarella alla Caprese and I had the Alfredo for appetizers and both were very good. The Alfredo is good as advertised in my opinion. For dinner, I had the Lasagnette Pasticciate alla Modenese and she had Tagliolini Alla Vodka con Gamberoni which were both awesome. Nice sized portions and it filled us up. It was very loud though, so you had to talk kind of loud. For dessert I had a cannoli and she got a chocolate cake thing that may of come with ice cream, we don’t really remember but it was good. While talking with the other couple, they said they were off to see Illuminations and they had reserved seating. We asked how they got that and they had gone to guest relations earlier and they set them up with it. Wish we thought of that. We leave and it’s about 8:30 and it doesn’t start until 9 so we quickly grab a rail with a good view and wait for it to start. It’s still a great show to watch, this is a must see. We wound up standing right behind a cannon and it scared Tracy when it went off, it was startling at first but really cool. After it’s over, we leave with the masses back to the resort and decide it’s too early to go in so we head back to Downtown Disney to look in the stores some more and hang out. We head back around 11 and I set the alarm for 7am again and get some sleep.

If I missed anything the wife will let me know and I'll add the report and make corrections as neccessary :)

Next up – Day 4, Animal Kingdom and Everest!

Day 4 – 10/11/06

Woke up bright and early again to the wake up call. We had originially scheduled breakfast at the Cape May Café which is right in the hotel, but the night before we decided to just cancel it because we wanted to get to Animal Kingdom quickly. We made many changes in our game plan. When I called for our ADR’s, it was exactly 180 days out, and we had a dinner set for every night of the week. We made several changes to ours during the trip, but it was nice to have a backup plan for dinners in case we tried to walk in and places would be full. We had Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party the next evening, and had originally scheduled Boma for 5pm, and the party started at 7, so we thought it would be easier to cancel that and try to get dinner in MK. They didn’t have anything, so we would have to wing it. Tonight we had the Hoop Dee Doo Review, but that wasn’t until 9:30 so we had the whole day. We shower and get dressed and head upstairs to concierge and get donuts, bagel and some juice. We head to the bus stop and wait maybe 15 minutes for the bus to AK. Get through the gates and make a run for Everest and it only had a 10 minute wait, so we grabbed fast passes and then waited in the line and it went fast!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon110.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon111.jpg
We didn’t really get a good look at the queue since the line moved quickly but from what saw was amazing with the detail of everything. We get seated about mid-pack and the train starts off. I had to stuff my groom ears in the tiny bag in front so not to lose it. I knew exactly what was coming since I’d read and seen the ride before, but was really excited to experience it. Tracy avoided spoilers and pictures because she wanted to be totally surprised.
What an awesome ride! It really throws you for a loop once you start going backwards! It went pretty fast and it’s dark so you can’t see anything. The Yeti was so cool and he was in action trying to grab us. We left the ride excited and ready to ride it again, but our fast passes weren’t until 30 minutes later so we walked around the park some. We head towards Dinoland and check it out. We agree not to ride Dinosaur, but instead ride Primeval Whirl. That was a mistake. What a rough ride! Everest was smoother than that!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon112.jpg
I should note, that we got a lot of attention with our ears. The CM’s, guests and even other Disneymooners would congratulate us. Everyone is incredibly nice. Anyway, we check out the new Nemo building, formally Tarzan, much to Tracy’s dismay. We walk back to Everest and get through the fast pass line and check out the other side of the queue. When we get to board, we get the front car! We were both a little nervous but really excited. I wish I had taken out my camera because once you get to the very top, you can see Epcot in the distance! It was an awesome view. The next time you ride, don’t look at the image of the Yeti after you go backwards. Look at the track in front of you, it flips! Went from curved track to straight to take you down the drop. After Everest, we head towards Africa to ride the safari. The wait wasn’t too bad. While in line, I saw this sign and thought the wording was a little off.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon114.jpg
We’re in the next to last row, but we’re by ourselves so I made sure to take plenty of pictures. Too many too post, in fact.

Since we were close to Rafiki's planet watch, we gave it a shot. We were disappointed. I thought it was a train ride through more safari, turns out it's a learning center. We hopped back on the train and headed towards the Jungle Trek and walked through. A lot of neat animals were out and plus it was nice and shady.

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon139.jpg
Afterwards, we check the times for Festival of the Lion King and we’re close enough that we can run and try to get in.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon141.jpg
As you can tell by now, the pictures have the date and time on them. I wanted to set the time and date, but unfortunately they stuck to the rest of the pictures.
We were a little late to the Lion King, and didn’t know if we would be able to get it, but sure enough they let us in and we got a seat towards the back.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon145.jpg
Sorry for the blurriness. This was a fun show, the first time I had seen it. There were several unruly people in front that would sometimes distract us from the show, but overall it was good.
We’re hungry so we hit the Tusker House for some lunch. I get some chicken and veggies and Tracy has salmon and veggies, which were both decent. The chicken reminded me of Boston Market chicken, but still tasty. The salmon was good, says Tracy. The desserts were chocolate cake for me and cheesecake for the wife. The chocolate cake was really good and I didn’t want to stop eating it but had to. The cheesecake was good as well, but not as good as the chocolate one.
We were done with AK for the day, and would be for the trip. On they way out, we stop at a photopass photog and get our picture in front of the Tree of Life.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/DisneyPhotoImage42.jpg
It was around 2 and we wanted to see the new parade at MK, so we hope on the bus and get there just in time to see it. As we're walking down mainstreet, I hear a woman ask me if I'm from Maryland and I saw yes, how did she know? Was it my Ravens watch? "It's your shirt, silly" says the wife. Ah, forgot I had it on.
I took several pictures of the parade, but I’ll only post a few.

Since Spectomagic was on tap for the night and we needed to go to MK to get to the Wilderness Lodge for the Hoop Dee Doo, we were going to head back to the room for a few hours and show up just before the next parade. Open the door to the room and find towel swans!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon181.jpg
Now before the trip, Tracy had put together envelopes for MouseCleaning with cute phrases like “Thanks for making our Disneymoon Special!” and “Trick or Treat” where we already placed money in them and left them for Luz, our mouse cleaner!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/mousecleaning.jpg

Day 4 Part 2

After a nap and shower, we’re refreshed and make our way through Epcot to the monorail towards MK for Spectromagic.
Of course we stop at the pin station in front and decide which ones to buy. A friend of mine made a board to put all of our Disney pins on that I’ll post at the end of the report.

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon184.jpg
We also decide on a photopass as well.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/DisneyPhotoImage34.jpg
Arrive at MK about 20 minutes before the parade starts and walk around main street some to kill some time and found a photopass photog, imagine that! This is my favorite picture of the whole trip.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/DisneyPhotoImage29.jpg
We get a spot near the exit by the train station.

Once the parade ends, we sprint for the exit and walk towards the boat to Wilderness Lodge. Tried to take some pictures of MK at distance at night but like I mention before, couldn’t get a grasp of night pictures.
About 20 minutes later we end up at the WL WAY too early, so early in fact that the check in person wasn’t out front yet. Dinner wasn’t until 9:30, so we found a spot between the trees for Wishes and watched them. We walked back over and the check in lady was there, gives us our card and says to go get our picture taken. It didn’t really go as planned and I thought at least the photographer would have zoomed in. And then like the sucker I am, I wound up buying it during dinner. Waste of money.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/hdd.jpg
Our table number says ‘13’ and we’re not sure what to think of that. Last year we were pretty close to the stage, off to the left. We slowly crawl into Pioneer Hall and the waitress takes us to “Lucky 13” as she calls it. At first she wanted to go through the middle but eventually took us all the way around to the front. The dead center front. Our table was touching the stage. I said, “Really?” and she was like “Really.” We were pretty excited, front row for the HDD! If you see table 13, that’s good luck! First course was salad and yummy cornbread, which I think we ate the whole thing. Then comes the song and dance our dinner is here! We get our food, which consists of fried chicken, ribs, beans and corn on the cob. At one point, they ask around if anyone is celebrating anything and Tracy raises her hand and the blonde one with the laugh announces us to the crowd. There was another honeymoon couple and an anniversary couple too. Then we had to dance in front of everyone, and I couldn’t smile because I had corn in my teeth. Tables laughed and applauded. I wish I had pictures but we were so close I didn’t want to start snapping while they were in the middle of their routine. We were used throughout the show at times. My favorite was when the blonde was dancing and lifting her leg up and up and up and then she looked and me smiling and her partner runs over and gives me a look and point and I blush. She then says “Happy Honeymoon!” and laughs. It’s a fun time, what a great show. Sure it’s a little corny but it’s all in good fun. At the end, they needed volunteers from the audience and whoever they picked as the Indian was funny, even the actors mentioned his performance. After the show, we head to the buses out front. They combine a lot of resorts so sometimes yours isn’t shown, but make sure you ask!
Get back to the room and setup yet another wake up call for 7am. We really didn’t sleep in at all during this trip. Tomorrow was going to be a MGM day and then our first MNSSHP!!

Again, if I missed anything or made a mistake in what I remember, Tracy will hopefully remember

Next up – Day 5, MGM and MNSSHP!

There were two chefs that night, one was Scott Hunnel and the other was a woman who’s name I can’t remember nor is it on the menu but we met with her and she was very nice. She said they have 10 courses at the chef’s table, as opposed to 7 in the dining room.

Hey, you look like you could be a 'Disney Suit', one of the executives that walk around making sure that everything is running smoothly! :teeth: You both look great! We did the chef's table in 2004 and loved it! The other chef you were referring to is Aimee, who is second in command. She is FABULOUS! I'm so glad you guys enjoyed your dinner! :thumbsup2

LOL- a match made in heaven.

I liked reading the sections about Everest and Soarin. We haven't done those yet- maybe in January. Also, glad to hear how much you liked Alfredo's. I have ADR's there for our next trip and can't wait to try it. Can't wait to read the rest of your report!

Yes, Disney called me a few weeks prior and asked if we were celebrating anything, as well as any allergies. I didn't think to tell them about my banana allergy
When we got to V&A's, they asked if we there was anything we didn't like. It was such a good time, the food was excellent!

Our wedding cake was designed by Ron Ben Israel, and it was in several different layers. We still have yet to eat the top! :)

Thanks!! To me, I think a Disneymoon is more fun. I originally chose Disney as our honeymoon spot, but was quickly turned down by the wife. She wanted to go somewhere that we'd normally never go like Hawaii or the Bahamas, but eventually broke down and gave in to Disney.

For us, we're not really beach people and would probably be bored. I know a lot of places have other things to do, but this was our honeymoon in Walt Disney World! It's an amazing experience, and I highly recommend it. I'm not being biast or anything ;)

We did the 7:30 Hoop de Doo and also got Table 13. And the lady did the same show for me. Did everyone sing "Let me call you sweetheart"? That was something we both enjoyed. We took a picture of our table to the stage because we couldn't believe we were that close

Day 5 – 10/12/06

Another 7am wake up call, we get ready and head to the dock to take the boat over to MGM. When you stay at the Beach or Yacht club, there is no bus to MGM, only walking or boat.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon232.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon233.jpg
Our plan is to get fastpasses for Rock N’Rollercoaster and then get some breakfast, but when we get closer to the hat, we see one of Tracy’s favorite, Mater!

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon239.jpg
We then see a bunch of characters around the hat, and we decide to get our picture with Daisy.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/DisneyPhotoImage24.jpg
Head down towards RNR and grab our fastpasses, which aren’t for a little while, so we’ve got plenty of time for breakfast. We walk up to Starring Rolls and we both have cinnamon buns and juice. They’re not bad, the same as you’d find anywhere in Disney.
Morning shots of MGM
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon242.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon241.jpg
After breakfast we head back to RNR only to find it wasn’t working, but that they’d honor our fastpasses throughout the day. A little bummed out, we move on. I won’t go on Tower of Terror so we skip that one.
We walk towards the Great Movie Ride, which is always fun. The line was a little long but it moves pretty good. Tracy wants to see Beauty and The Beast stage show so we head back down and grab seats toward the back of the theater.

It’s closing in on 12:30 and the Indiana Jones show is about to get started. We wait in the stand-by line to see if we can get in.
Bored in line
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon249.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon248.jpg
By this point it started to get a little cloudy for the first time during our trip and it started to drizzle. The line then starts to move just as the rain gets harder. We move all the way to the right and get in row number 3. The director eventually comes out and tells us that they can’t shoot the final scene because of the rain, which means the plane scene was gone. It’s a really good show, and I know it’s been in the rumor mill for an update or extinction, but I think it’s good enough to keep around for awhile. Sounds Dangerous, now that’s another story :)
After the show, we were hungry and we didn’t want burgers and fries, so we find Toy Story Pizza Planet and get ourselves pizza. But of course with the dining plan you get salad and a dessert. While eating a couple notices that we’re honeymooning and they were going to be Disneymooning next year. May, I think they said. We told them congrats decide to do Muppets next, which was just letting people in when we got there.
I like the show but I think it should have been more centered to the older characters, and not Bean the bunny. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good show but the rest of the Muppets are totally underused.
By this time the rain had stopped and the sun was starting to come back out and it was warm, so we hit Voyage of the Little Mermaid which is a great show for how they do it. When they say no flash photography, they mean it! Don’t use your camera or you’ll ruin the show for the little ones!
We both had never done the Magic of Disney Animation, and since it was next door, it was an easy decision. The setup was cool, an animator was talking to the dragon from Mulan and describing how they came up with his character. We were then lead into a room with Cars storyboards and models.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon251.jpg
We could have met The Incredibles but decided against it since the Stars and Cars parade was coming up.

Day 5 Part 2

After a quick nap and a shower, we step in our “Halloween” gear. Tracy had her Target cat shirt and my Charlie Brown Halloween t-shirt. We walk through Epcot to the monorail and head to the Magic Kingdom.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon296.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon297.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon298.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon299.jpg
We grabbed a map and looked around at all the Halloween decorations. We noticed the crowd of people exiting to our left and the CM’s ushering us in. A lot of the restaurants are either closed or booked, so we check the map and walk towards Cosmic Ray’s. We get cheeseburgers and fries and while we’re eating we hear the theme for from Space Odyssey and Cosmic Ray disappears into the ceiling and up comes Stitch wearing an Elvis costume! It was pretty funny and I tried to get a picture but it didn’t turn it. It was one of Mickey’s Dance Party and all the kids got up to dance, it was so cute. After dinner, and since we were in Tomorrowland, Space Mountain is on tap! It seemed faster at night, which from what I’ve read about rollercoaster’s probably is true.

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon305.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon306.jpg
Since it’s Halloween, we wanted to do Pirates and the Haunted Mansion, but we pass all seven Dwarfs with Snow White! But the line was incredibly long and the guy said they’d be back at 8:45, so we were on a mission to be back just before then. While walking towards Pirates, we notice that there was a photopass with Cinderella’s Coach and wanted to get our picture so we wait in the massively long line.
Took this while in line.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon308.jpg
When we finally got to the front, she made us pose as if I were proposing.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/DisneyPhotoImage21.jpg
There were several honeymooners in line and they all got to do the same thing. By the time the we were finished it was time to head back to see Snow White and only a few people in line. Tracy doubts me because there isn’t anyone around and she thought it was the wrong place, but I was right for once! There is no photopass for this, which there should be. There is only one (angry)guy trying to keep the peace. We hand him our camera and got this great shot!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon316.jpg
Unfortunately I’m not even looking at the camera! I didn’t notice until later, but we were going back on Tuesday so we would get another picture.
Since we were close to Toontown, we walk down and check out all the decorations and finally go trick or treating!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon317.jpg
The first candy line was between a few rides that I don’t remember but they only handed you a few things. Then it was on to Alice’s and Mad Hatter’s Treat Party! I loved all the candy stations along the way, and it was cool to see walking talking cards.
Look who we ran into!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon318.jpg
A woman dressed as Alice walked by and Hatter started screaming, “Wait, where are you going!!!?!” It was pretty funny. The only downside was there was no Alice at all, she didn’t make the trick or treat path! What a rip-off! Oh well, at least we got some good candy out of it. Since we were dumped out in Tomorrowland, we got some more candy around there. It was closing in on Hallowishes and I thought it would be easier to stand by Pooh to see the fireworks since I knew Main Street would be crowded. It was interesting to stand back there because it really gives you a sense at how far away the big fireworks actually are. There are several cannons from Pooh down to Philharmagic and they were bright and loud but what a great show! The music was awesome and I liked how it had the evil characters in it. The only downside was having to look left and right when the fireworks went off because of our position. It is a great spot if you don’t like crowds, but you really don’t get the full effect if you’re standing on main street. It’s finally time to head for Pirates and Frontierland. We stop for some candy along the way and ride Pirates and then head towards BTMRR. There was a tiny candy just off to the side where no one really was. You’d like they’d load you up but only do a couple. We make it over to the Haunted Mansion and on the way out we get a photopass.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/DisneyPhotoImage20.jpg
It was closing in on the Boo To You parade and we get our spot in Liberty Square. I decide to make a quick bathroom stop before the parade begins so I leave the wife and run off to find a bathroom. You’d think I’d know where all the bathrooms are, but I wind up walking all the way around the castle only to end up Fantasyland by Peter Pan.
On more tour, I took a few pictures

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon326.jpg
Now, it was literally 10 minutes later until the start of the parade came. This was a very slow moving parade, I felt bad for those on main street! The music is very catchy, “Boo to you and you, Happy Halloween!” It goes through your head and you’ll be singing it over and over and over for weeks and months to come, trust me. “It’s really not so scary”

The Pirates float was cool, but my favorite was the Haunted Mansion one. They had all these guys with shovels and they’d do this cool spin move where they’d lay the shovels on the ground and spin them creating sparks.

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon350.jpg

At the end of the parade was Goofy and CM’s handing out candy to the little ones.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon375.jpg
It was a really cool and fun parade, and we will watch it again when we go back! But now it was time to head to Main Street to find the MNSSHP pins. We were told that we can find them at the jewelry store, if they weren’t sold out. However, watching the parade from Liberty Square had it’s down side. Since it was such a slow moving parade, we couldn’t get around to get to Main Street as quickly as we wanted. The large group of people had to slowly crawl until it finally moved off Main Street. Find the jewelry store and while Tracy’s looking at the pins, I just ask for all the available pins they had from previous MNSSHP’s. I got most of them, and Tracy was surprised that I got them all. I told her it was easier this way then to just try and find a specific one. $80 worth of pins later, we walk over to the Emporium to do a little more shopping. I wind up buying one of the Halloween Disney shirts for the next party, as well as a couple little things. It was closing in on the Villains mix and mingle and we get our spots close to the front, but they shortly announce that it will not be shown, but the villains will be out to greet. The Evil Queen is there and Tracy bravely gets her picture with her.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon378.jpg
We took a few minutes to look around at all the colors and the décor at night, and I wish I got better pictures of it.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon382.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon383.jpg
It was closing in on midnight and we decide on a couple photopasses on the way out.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/DisneyPhotoImage16.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/DisneyPhotoImage13.jpg

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon387.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon388.jpg
We hop on the bus back to the BC and once we hit the room we dump our candy out to check out our loot!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon389.jpg
I got a Necco? They still make these? I called it my “rock” Also we got some raisins. Not just Raisinettes, but boxes of raisins. These promptly made their way to the trash can. We pack up the candy and this time I don’t make a wake up call since we decide to take it slow for Friday. We were pretty excited about not having to be anywhere until dinner and it would feel nice to sleep in. Our first stop would be Downtown Disney for some more shopping!

Day 6 – 10/13/06

For the first time since we’ve been in Disney, we didn’t have a wake up call. We had already been to all the parks and just wanted to relax for once. I had called ahead and arranged for a spa treatment at the Grand Floridian for Tracy at 3pm as a surprise, but I wound up telling her beforehand so she knew it was coming. Since today was just a relax day, I took a break from picture taking apparently as I don’t have many for this day, sorry.

We get up around 9 and our plan is to do some shopping at Downtown Disney and get some lunch. Waited for the bus for about 15 minutes and our day had begun! Stopped into a couple stores just to look around and it was around 11:30 and we were hungry since we skipped breakfast. We looked at Cap’n Jack’s but they weren’t open yet and their menu looked a bit pricey for lunch. Tracy had heard good things about Earl of Sandwich from the Disboards, and we gave it a try and were not disappointed. All the sandwiches are $5 and with the dining plan you get chips and a drink. Tracy got the Original 1762, which is roast beef, cheddar cheese and horseradish sauce, and I got the tuna melt. Both were excellent, nice and warm. And the portions were huge! Filled us up nicely. We got a nice little table and talked about what a great time we were having and didn’t want the experience to end.

After lunch, we wandered over to The World of Disney, knowing we would spend time and lots of $$$ in there. Way back in January, I entered in a work Super Bowl poll. It was the one where you pay for a box and they choose the numbers after all the blocks are filled. I only bought one block since it was $20 a block, and when the numbers came out I got 0 and 1, and I didn’t think I had a shot. The final score of the game, if you remember was 21 to 10, Steelers. Now this was the first time I’ve ever rooted for them, and I won $1000, cash! The next day the huge wad of cash was handed to me and we saved it for our honeymoon. It was nice having spending money and not having to use any money we got from the wedding.

Anyway, we must have been in this store for a few hours. I remember calling my mom to ask how the dog was doing so we could buy her a little princess hat. We also got a lot of stuff for us, as well as a couple family members. Pins, shirts, I got a hat, we had a good time in there. We were finally finished and walked over to Ghirardelli and got ourselves a vanilla milkshake and sat outside and relaxed some more. We didn’t really need it, but it just looked so good 

It was closing in on 2, and Tracy’s massage was in an hour so we take the bus over to the GF and ask for directions on where the spa is inside the lobby. The spa is down a long path past the pool. When we got there she checked in and they took her away. I looked around and said “So, when do I pay?” I got her the 80 minute personalized massage, so I had some time to wander. I wanted to walk around MK and take a couple pictures.

I wound up running into the same woman we had met the first day at the MK. She saw my button, gave me a big hug and congratulated me. I said the wife was getting a massage and I had a little time to kill so she said “I’ve got the perfect gift!” And she proceeds to take me to the DVC area, where I talked briefly with a nice girl and I gave her my info and she said to check it out. We never would, as we really didn’t want to waste an hour of our day doing this. And now they just keep calling 
I wound up calling my brother to say hey and see what was new. I didn’t spend much time in the MK, because soon it was closing in on the end of her massage.

Time flew by and before I knew it, her massage was coming to a close, so I hopped back on the monorail on rode around Seven Seas Lagoon. “And to the left is Bay Lake. Please stand clear of the doors. Por favor mantenganse alejado de las puertas..."
I waited maybe about 10 minutes for her to come out and she was relaxed. Our dinner for tonight was the critically acclaimed California Grill. So we needed to head back to the hotel, shower and change into something nice. We were really looking forward to this dinner, and heard a lot of good things about it.

We showered and put on nice clothes and hopped on a bus to the MK to jump on the monorail over to Contemporary.

GF at dusk

We arrive at the hotel and go upstairs to check in, where they give you a pager and are led up the elevator by a nice man who tells us congrats and that we can wait anywhere. We find a couple of seats and another couple who is having their anniversary joins us and we chat for a little bit until they get called for a table. Shortly thereafter, our pager gets buzzed and much to our dismay we walked all the way away from the MK side of the restaurant towards the noisy kitchen. Now we knew going in that it was a crapshoot to get a good side of the place, so we weren’t all that disappointed. However, the rest of the meal proved different. The waitress was nice, but at times un-attentive. Because we were using a meal credit for this, we got to pick a appetizer, which in this case is either sushi, brick oven flatbreads or something from the “first course” list. Tracy got the Curried Cauliflower soup to start and I got Sonoma Goat cheese ravioli, which were both pretty good. I wanted to walk outside and take some pictures, but they didn’t really turn out.

At this time I notice another honeymoon couple, close to the window a few tables away. They had confetti on their table, and a hostess was taking their picture. Now I’m thinking, our honeymoon was listed on the reservation, why didn’t we get that? Instead all that’s remembered is my banana allergy. For dinner, Tracy got Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Creamy Goat Cheese Polenta, Cremini Mushrooms, Zinfandel Glaze and Sage, and I got the steak special. Both were ok, but nothing to write home about. While we’re eating our bland, loud meal, Wishes begins. I didn’t realize that they pumped the music right in. It was kind of cool, but we didn’t want to get up and go outside for it, our dinner just got there and it was windy and chilly out. Please we were both kind of annoyed with the dinner in general. For dessert, I got the Apple Tart and the wife got Raspberries and chocolate, which were ok. Overall, we didn’t like this place at all. Food was small in portion and not that great, service was slow and being near the kitchen is loud. Just because we had a bad experience doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try it if you really want to, just our opinion. This was really our only bad meal of the trip.
After dinner, we tried to put this place behind us and head back towards Downtown Disney. This time we shopped in the Christmas store and the scrap booking store for a little while before finally deciding to turn in for the night.

Our first week was coming to a close, and we only had a few more days left. For Saturday(Day 7 to those of you following closely), we were headed back to MGM to ride some of the stuff we didn’t get to and relax by the pool. We had a Party for the Senses in Epcot at night, so it was yet another busy day! I set the alarm for 7am yet again and we fall fast asleep. Disney is so much fun yet so tiring!

Next – Day 7, An MGM surprise and a Party for the Senses!

Sorry you guys didn't like California Grill. We just had dinner there in October and sat in the same area you did. We were bummed, too, but it was neat watching the chefs prepare the dishes. We watch Iron Chef, so it was OK for us, but I can see it not being a very romantic spot, that's for sure! I'm looking forward to your review of Party for the Senses! :thumbsup2

Happy Holidays!

Did your DW really enjoy her massage? I have thought about getting one for myself on our honeymoon but they are so expensive and I am afraid I'd be better off getting one at home when we get back for a little less. Nothing is worse than a less than par massage.

Anyways thanks for the review on Cali Grill...I know everyone has their opinions and experiences but it makes me feel better about scrapping it for our honeymoon and doing Jiko instead. Not that we can make ADR's yet but I am obsessed with planning and I really enjoy it so I keep chaning things.

Looking forward to reading the next installment!

Yes, she loved her massage! It was nice to get one for her, especially later in the week as we'd doing more walking then relaxing. They have couples massages too, but at a higher price. I thought hers was rather reasonable, but you have to remember to include tip in the final price.

We read mixed reviews of Cali Grill, but decided to try it. I know there are tons of people who enjoy it, and others who don't. I think you're better off going somewhere else that doesn't boost a specific view, as you probably will be dissapointed when you don't get it.

Don't worry, I was the same way in planning the honeymoon. :) I made a spreadsheet, was(and still am) on the disboards daily and bought ALL the books. A little advice, try to make an ADR for everynight of the week. You'll more than likely want to change your plans once you're there, but it's a good fallback.

Glad you're enjoying the trip report! I know you're still a Sox fan, but go Ravens! :thumbsup2

I have been sitting here at "work" reading your TR. I wasn't going to go far, but then you started by saying you were married in NJ and that is my home state. I may be in Buffalo, but I am a Jersey Girl at heart! ;)

Day 7 – 10/14/06

We awake bright and early at 7am and get ready to head back to MGM for the morning. The Party for the Senses isn’t until the evening so we’ve got plenty of time. We had just missed the boat on our dock and take a walk over to the Boardwalk to catch that boat.
Some morning pics

We had wanted to get there for the opening but missed it by just a half hour but we knew there was plenty of time to ride as much as we wanted. We get to the security gate and the guard asks us our names and where we’re from, then all of sudden he grabs both of us and announces to the entire front entrance “This is Tracy and Steve from New Jersey and they just got married!” It was a little embarrassing but we loved the attention 
Since it was early we headed to RNR to grab some fastpasses, and by that time it was for around 11 but that gave us time to do some other things.
Star Tours winds up being our first ride, there was no wait.

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon416.jpg
Here’s where another surprise happens. While moving through the line we finally come to a stop just before you enter the loading area. A CM yells for 2 people, and everyone in front of us was more and we stepped up. We walked all the way to the right and filled in the rest of the row. That’s when I we notice two of the dream squad hanging around our area. Tracy keeps looking at me asking what’s happening and I say I don’t know, maybe they’re just walking through, I didn’t know. Once we board and everyone is seated, one of the dream squad ladies announces to everyone that we’ve won dream fastpasses for the day!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon417.jpg
We were very excited, we didn’t think that we’d win something!! The pass is only good for that day, and it has RNR, Star Tours, Lights Motors Action, Tower of Terror, Indiana Jones and Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

StormTrooper and I
Shortly after all the excitement, and another bathroom break from me, we head towards RNR and use the original fastpass. We got the front car!!! As soon as the lady pointed us toward row 1 my stomach dropped a little. It was exciting and I just remember telling Tracy to make sure she keeps her head back and off we go! I forgot that you go upside down immediately! After the ride and adrenaline rush, we make our way to
the Studio Backlot tour, in which I always seem to get the end seat closest to water in the earthquake scene.

That girl was from Bel Air and we went to the same high school! Albeit, she graduated 5 years after me.
Shortly after, our camera started acting funny. We’d turn it on, and then it would shut right off. After several failed attempts, we ran into a CM who said it might be the batteries. It couldn’t be the ultra expensive, long lasting batteries we just bought on Monday, could it? Yep, it was. Luckily Tracy carried the spares with her and it was fixed right away. He took a nice picture of us.

It’s turkey leg time! What a great lunch. It’s funny to see people’s reaction to the leg. Meat on a stick! Tracy got a hot dog and then we were off just to walk and do some shopping. I was out of diet Coke and took my cup to the next station and the woman said they didn’t have fountain, but I can just take a bottle. Take a bottle, that means it’s free! We finally got a freebie!!! Sure, it was a regular bottle of diet coke, but free nonetheless. Thank you counter working girl!

After walking into several stores and buying little things, we walk out to see a street performance starting. This one had about 6 or 7 players, and the bit was someone shaved this poor woman’s dog bald. The “cop” walked up to each person and they had to give him an alibi, in which they grabbed a person out of the crowd and made them act out something. Well this one woman had to come up with one, and she saw Tracy’s ears and said she was in her wedding. “Oh yeah, then show me how you walked down the aisle!” She then took her by the hand and walked behind her holding up the veil.

It was really funny, and we all had a good laugh. For those we haven’t seen the skit, I won’t ruin the ending for you.
Another bathroom break for me and our day at MGM was over. We never used our dream fastpasses since we wanted to relax at the pool before the Party for the Senses.

We hopped on the boat back to the Beach club and got changed for the pool. We decided to try the quiet pool since it was right outside our room, and there was no one there. We had the pool to ourselves for a little while! We were going to try Stormalong bay the next day, so this was nice.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon454.jpg
After an hour or so by the pool, we head back to the room for a shower, shave and some TV before the big party! Since it was within walking distance, we had plenty of time!

Stay tuned for Part 2! Sorry this was such a long delay.

Day 7 part 2

We had to be at the World Showcase Pavilion by 6:30 and since the walk was short we left a little after 6. Since it’s Saturday night, the park is pretty crowded. We had no idea what we were in for when we got to the big double doors to the entrance with the mob of people waiting to get it. It’s pretty much first come first serve so regardless of where you were standing, someone would always come to your left and right and make their in front of you. We weren’t in a hurry, but I was concerned about getting a table. Once the doors opened at 7, we were all shifted to the right, waiting again. There were some people with wristbands walking past on the left, making their way in. Apparently, you could check in at the stage where the band was playing, but since we decided to skip that part we had to wait with everyone else. Get to the front, they check our ID’s and give us menus and wine glasses.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/DSC01027.jpg
Now here is the ENTIRE menu:
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/DSC01029.jpg

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/DSC01034.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/DSC01035.jpg
If you look closely you can see items that are checked off :)
Once we’re inside we quickly make our way to find a table. There aren’t a lot of people in, but still enough that all the tables with chairs are gone. We make our way to a standing only table right next to the Cirque Du Soleil stage. We had done our homework on the disboards and took the advice of many: One stays at the table while the other goes to get food.
For those who haven’t attended and are interested in going, here’s the deal. There are 6 stations, all a different color: Red, Blue, Purple, Yellow, Green and Pink. Each offer different foods, but are mainly highlighted by the chef. There are a couple entrees, desserts and then wines. It was A LOT of food.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon456.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon457.jpg

During the course of the evening we’d get different couples here and there asking if they could stand at our table and we didn’t mind at all. Every time one would finish their meals, they’d pack up and leave. Eventually a woman and several of her family members arrived at our table. After talking with her, we found out she’s a conceirege at the Grand Flordian. When we told her our hotel story, she said that’s not the way it should have been handled and to make sure we call when we get back to complain.
Now I can’t tell you the exact order of what we ate, but can tell you what we ate. We didn’t have any wine, as we’re not really drinkers.
Red
Tanglewood Farms Chicken with Vegatable Spring Roll, Edamane, Bok Choy Salad and a Soy-Sake Glaze
Wild Autumn Mushroom Polenta with Onion Jam and Sweet Corn Fondue
Fleur de Sel-coated Wild Salmon and Snapper with Hearts of Palm, Conch and Crab

Blue
Medaghioni di Vitello all’Albese con Rapini al Brucciolo
(apparently that’s all we ate in blue!)

Purple – Nothing there either!

Yellow
Talas Borek, Puff Pastry with Lamb
Goat Cheese-filled Black-Eyed Pea Cake with Wilted Greens, Olives and Spicy Tomato Sauce

Green
Pan-seared Coriander Halibut with Noodles and a Ginger-Green Tea Broth
Pan-Seared Scallops with a Coconut-Chili-Lime Glaze
Bison Tenderloin with Feta, Rosemary Flatbread and Tomato Salata
Pan-seared Wild American Shrimp over Fennel Mousseline with Currant Tomato and Tarragon Cream
Pastries – Chocolate cubed - This is from Keegan Gerhard from the food network, I met him!
Lemoncella Ravioli over Chocolate Mascarpone Cream with Orange-Raspberry Sauce

Pink
Applewood-smoked Duck Breast with Mascarpone Polenta Mushroom Ragout and Coriander Citrus
Pan-seared Hudson Valley Duck Breast with Savory Cranberry Cheesecake, Micro Chard and a Cranberry-Orange Reduction

We might have had other items, but don’t remember. I just remember all of it was really good and filling. If you go, make sure you pace yourself. There’s plenty of food to go around. If a line is long, move onto another station and get something else because you can go back as much as you want.
Over dinner, we saw 2 La Nouba shows which were good. Wouldn’t pay to see it normally, but they were good.
A note to the men – if you’re leaving the restroom, open the door SLOWLY. There are pay phones on the right and I knocked into some guy holding a drink. He was cool with it, but just be careful!
We had been there just about 2 hours and were too full to continue.

On the way out, the Cirque people were doing face painting and Tracy wanted hers done. There are only a few people in front of us and after some time, she gets her done.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon466.jpg
Isn’t she pretty:love: It came off easily but it was fun for her to do.
Since it was only 9:15 and we were already back in the room on a Saturday night, we decide to stay in  We’ve got an early breakfast at Kona Café at 9:30 and there we no plans for Sunday except dinner at Boma so relaxing was our best bet. I set the alarm and watch the NASCAR race while playing DS and she will read until she falls asleep.

Next up – Day 8 – MK for the day, a No Way Jose, a lazy river and Boma.

Day 8 – 10/15/06

Received the usual 7am wake up call from Mickey and Stitch and got ready for our breakfast and Kona café in the Polynesian Resort. Tracy really wanted to give the Tonga toast a try and we’d heard good things about it.
We boarded the bus over to the MK and monorailed to the Polynesian and checked in.

We were seated at a little booth off to the side. It’s not a very big restaurant, and there’s really no atmosphere at all. The waitress came out and took our drink order and then said she was going to talk to the chef about what has bananas in it. She came back and said the Tonga toast was the only thing, so I was good to go. I hate having that allergy.
Tracy ordered the Tonga Toast and I got the Big Kahuna, which came with pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon and sausage.

Our meals were good, but not good enough to warrant another return to the restaurant. At least we tried it and can check it off our list.
After breakfast, we monorail back to the MK to hang out for the morning. Since it was still early, the park wasn’t all that crowded. Started off with a train ride.

We walk over the bridge and watch Splash. There looks like something is wrong as there are no people in boats. I didn’t want to ride and a CM tried to get me to ride it to no avail.

Head over to Adventure Land and look who we run into!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon485.jpg
Tracy wanted her picture with Mr. Smee since her dad had a run-in with him years ago. He kept trying to pull her rings off and it hurt! We turn around and we’re just in time for Captain Jack Sparrow’s Captain tutorial! This was a great and funny show. I have a 20 minute clip of it if anyone wants to see it. I don’t know if they’re still doing this but it’s funny and the guy doing Johnny Depp was great.

For the past few days, we’d been meaning to make a trip to Beaches and Cream in our resort, but each time we’d get sidetracked and not make it, but today was the day I was finally going to try my No Way Jose. We leave MK by bus and eventually find the entrance to Beaches and Cream, which is tricky since it’s only accessible from the outside. It wasn’t all that crowded and we were sat right away at a table in the middle. It’s not very big at all, in fact it’s very tiny. Only a total of about 15 tables along with counter seats.
We order cheeseburgers and I get fries and she has the fruit. This place isn’t about their lunch though, it’s all about dessert. The cheeseburgers are Disney standard, which are still pretty tasty. While we’re eating we notice another honeymoon couple at the next table over. We congratulate each other and chat for a few minutes. They had just arrived and were getting ready to spend the week. We remember that feeling! We order our dessert, and of course get the No Way Jose. It’s peanut butter and hot fudge delight with chocolate and vanilla ice cream, peanut butter and chocolate chips, whipped cream and a cherry on top.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon502.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon503.jpg
We split it and I wind up finishing it off, cause it’s that good and hey, it’s still the honeymoon.
After the heavy lunch, we were both full and decided to walk around the boardwalk to work off lunch.

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon507.jpg
We stop in a couple stores along the way, nothing too exciting. I’ve noticed the resort stores aren’t all the appealing.
Our next stop is ESPNZone where I wanted to stop in and see the Ravens/Panthers game. We mill around a swarm of Eagles fans and find a tv with the game, only to see Kyle Boller in and throw an INT. That was all I needed to see and we left to head back to the room. Dinner wasn’t until 9 so we get changed into our bathing suits and make our way to Stormalong Bay. We’ve heard so many good things about it and finally wanted to try it out. We found a nice quiet spot over near the lazy river and just relax. I notice a lot of innertubes floating around and I make my way over to the little cubby with the tubes and it’s only $3 for an hour rental, so I grab two seater and float my way back to the wife.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon512.jpg
After making my way around, I slowly convince Tracy to get in with me. We’re slowly but surely going around and around and around and it was nice and relaxing. At first she didn’t want to get in, now I couldn’t get her out! On one of our times around, a man shouts, “Hey, it’s the honeymooners!” We laughed, said thanks and then tried to remember if we knew him. The sun was setting and the temperature was dropping and our dinner was soon, so with some help from the nice lifeguard to hold the raft while Tracy gets out, we head back to the room to shower and get ready for our Boma night!
Now in order to get to Boma which is in Animal Kingdom Lodge, we have to take a bus to downtown Disney, then wait for a bus to take us to AKL. You always get nervous when you’re dependant on the Disney transportation system, but it wasn’t all that long before the next bus arrived.
I think we might have been the only ones on the bus, and when we got to AKL, it was eerily quiet and dark. We’d never been to AKL and wanted to check it out and now were getting a good look. It was a very good looking resort. I don’t think we’d ever stay there being so far away from everything else.
We check the map and make our way to Boma downstairs, where a crowd of people await. Check in, get our buzzer and walk around the resort.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon515.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon516.jpg
We walked outside to check out the animals but since it was dark, we couldn’t see anything except a giraffe. It’s close to our time so we make our way back to the lounge and wait. Once we’re called, Tracy is handed a card. The seating is a little close together and the restaurant is starting to empty out since it’s late. We’re sat next to another young couple towards the back and eventually open the card. It a congratulations card from some of the staff! It has all the different African languages hand written on the card. That was very nice of them!

We start with a waitress and she hands us off to a waiter early on, both were very nice. She checks with the chef about the banana thing and tells what I can’t have. The buffet was a good size, they had a variety of things from meats, to cous cous , to soups. The menu on allearsnet is from when we were there: http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_bomadin.htm
I skipped the fruits and salads and we started with soup. I don’t remember what they were and they’re not on the menu, so I’ll have to ask Tracy. **UPDATE** I have been informed that Tracy had the carrot ginger soup.
We then dove into the rest, with me making several trips. All in all the food was pretty good, not all that great but it was a good change of pace from the basic cheeseburgers. Tracy really wanted to try the Zebra domes and really liked them, but I’m not a coffee fan so I didn’t. We were then met with a surprise, a dessert dish with Happy Honeymoon written on it!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon521.jpg
How awesome was this! Take that California Grill!
The couple next to us notices that and says that they are spending their anniversary, he had proposed to her at Boma! They were living in Orlando after moving down from NC. They were both Disney fans and wanted to be closer to the action, but now are moving back to NC. As they explained, it’s a lot different once you live near Disney, some of the magic goes away. We talked about moving down there during the trip a lot, but know that if we do, it won’t be as special.
After our awesome dessert platter, I tried to write Thank You in little Mickey heads.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon517.jpg
It was a great dining experience and we’d definitely go there again. Since neither of us were tired and the MK had extra magic hours, we hope on the bus for a little late night fun.
At the gate, Tracy has trouble with her card, saying it’s not working. They let her in without it and we meander around the MK.

The park was closing soon and we looked briefly in the stores, I bought a Halloween shirt for the next MNSSHP on Tuesday.
Hop on the bus and head back to the room tired and ready for some sleep.
Monday is our Backstage magic tour and dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse, so we had to get up early for the tour which started in Epcot. Set the alarm for 7 and went to sleep.

Next up – Day 9 – Backstage magic tour(sorry, no pictures), the start of a cold and a nice dinner.

Hi everyone! Sorry for the delay, hope you enjoy this long winded part.

Day 9 – 10/16/06

Today was our Backstage Magic tour, and we had to be at Guest Services in Epcot by 9am. After the wake up call, I notice that my throat is feeling a little funny, but I didn’t think anything of it and got ready. Again, another perk for staying at the Beach Club, the tour starts and ends in Epcot.

We walk to the International Gateway and see that there are small lines forming, no one is being let in. I see a guest services counter and wait behind a man who’s asking all sorts of questions, but I just wanted to know where to go. Finally we decide to tell the guards that we had a tour, and we’re let in. It’s pushing close to 9 by now, and we have to hurry through Epcot. We finally make our way Future World where the rope hasn’t dropped yet, so they had to open it up to let us through. Finally we arrive at guest services in the park, but it’s the wrong one. We have to go to the one on the outside of Epcot, so quickly we walk again. I tell Tracy to wait while I asked the person behind the counter, and he points me to a group huddled by some benches. We arrive at the group and the tour guide says “You must be Steve and Tracy.” Apparently they were waiting for us to start the tour. :)

Now I don’t remember the tour guides name, but he was really funny and knowledgeable about all things Disney. There was a woman there with him, but she wasn’t going on the tour, she said she had tons of paperwork to do. There are about 18 of us, most of couples, with ages varying. After he takes a second head count, he tells us a little bit about Epcot and then we walk into the park. We start at Future World and then make our way “backstage” through a side door. Sorry, no cameras.

We jump on a charter bus and drive around until we stop behind The Living Seas(Now The Seas with Nemo and Friends). He tells us a little bit about the backstage and what goes on. It’s really amazing to see how close each pavilion is to each other. After a few more facts, we jump back on the bus to the American Adventure. It’s a tiny side road behind Epcot for service trucks and what not, nothing too exciting.

We arrive at the AA and walk in the backdoor to the show. Now, it’s not operating at this time, since World Showcase doesn’t open until 11. We walk down some stairs into a pit of sorts to see a giant contraption with animatronics inside. I had never seen this show before, so I didn’t know what I was looking at. The tour guide goes through and describes that we’re now under the stage. Above us is the large screen, which if I remember correctly is the largest rear screen projector in the nation. If the reel breaks, it’s going to take a LONG time to replace it. The show is all run by time code. There are people working inside to replace clothing off the characters, clean them up and what not. Why do they do this, you ask? Because sometimes the hydraulic fluid leaks or “bleeds.” After they are all cleaned up, the show is ready to start, but not with us in the building. For the show, they shut off all the lights so it’s pitch black. If for some reason someone needs to get in back, there are glow in the dark footprints so the workers don’t accidentally walk into the moving contraption. That machine, makes no sound whatsoever, it’s very quiet. And all of this is controlled by one button. The show has to start at a certain time, so after everyone is in and seated, the CM simply hits one button and the show begins. “What if it doesn’t work?” I ask. The workers then have to see what they can do to fix the problem right then and there. Their job is to now get it working for the later shows and sometimes this doesn’t always work.

We then walk back outside where there are grounds crew doing gardening and watering with trucks everywhere, but since World Showcase doesn’t open for another hour, crews have enough time to get things ready. “Why doesn’t it open until 11?” Because no one ever ventured past future world until after 11, so it made sense.

While outside the AA, he explained that the building itself is much bigger, and is painted to look like it’s only three stories tall. He had the tallest person in our group stand right up against the building and you can clearly see the height difference. It’s all about perception and Disney does a great job.
Here’s a picture of him that I found online. This isn’t from our tour, but it’s the same guy. Anyone know his name?
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Backstage_Magic.jpg

After a few more facts, we all board the bus towards the Epcot CM building in the park. The hallways are painted with all sorts of Disney characters and scenes, painted by each department. This was amazing, it’s a shame we walked through it so fast and couldn’t take any pictures. We were shown the big room where the CM’s get their uniforms for the day. They had ALL the clothes for every part of Epcot. We were then lead to the makeup room, where the princesses get their makeup for the day. There was a Jasmine, a Belle and an Ariel. Our tour guide has a thing for redheads, so he was getting a little flustered.

We head back to the bus and my throat is really starting to kill me. Luckily there was a cooler with water so I was able to keep myself hydrated. I hate getting sick, especially a sore throat. And while I’m on my honeymoon! I wasn’t going to let it get to me. We then head to another building that does some costuming, from what we remember. The lady at the front desk had to announce that we were there, in case someone was trying on an outfit. We see several outfits and talk to a Russian woman who is drawing an outfit on her computer. She then takes out Beast’s parade jacket which was unbelievably heavy. You should see the detail that’s put into this thing, it was really awesome. A few questions from the group and we’re off again.

The tour guide tells the bus driver that we’re going to stop at the Disney Florist. One of the first things he does is take us to the fridge that houses all the flowers and he just kept talking and talking and we were freezing! We then walked through the assembly line of people putting together baskets and flowers for the golf classic that was going on the following week. Any basket of chocolates or flowers or stuffed animals comes from this area. It was really neat to see everything laid out and everything being put together.

Next stop was MGM. We drove in the back near ToT and a security guard had to come on and check our bags first. We then parked behind where the Narnia attraction was. It was time for lunch at Mama Melrose, so we walked into the park using a side entrance close to Honey I Shrunk the Kids. The walk was short and our table was ready in the back of the restaurant. There were two tables and since we were the last two to walk in, the seating at the tables were odd so someone moved so Tracy and I could sit together. We’d never eaten here before and didn’t know what to expect, but the food was great. The first course was salad followed by pizza. The people at are people are all very nice and everyone is sharing stories and talking about where their from. The main course arrived and it was good. There was a seafood pasta dish which I could have eaten all by myself, and a dish that had chicken in it. I think there was something else but I can’t remember. Lastly came dessert, which consisted of ice cream, cheesecake, and tiramisu. I was pretty full by this point but still had a little :)

Now that we had a full stomach, it was off to the costuming department. You know when you take the Backlot tour and you drive through into the buildings? This is where we were. All the costumes are layed out here and put together using this huge sowing machine type thing. We didn’t get to see it in action, but heard it was cool to watch. All the CM’s were sewing various parts of clothing for different characters. We stopped to talk to a woman who was designing the new outfit for Dory in Nemo the Musical for AK. She was waiting on the fabric and looked rather bored, but she was very nice and answered all our questions. Which was all about 2 total, our group was shy. I wanted to stick around and see the it put together, but that was it for MGM.

Hop back on the bus and this time we’re headed towards Magic Kingdom area. We drive around the GF and the golf course and suddenly there’s nothing around but trees and a small road. Our guide explains that there are open areas for those who think they’re “lost” to turn back around to know what’s around, because there are no purple signs saying you’re in Disney. We can see the back of some of the buildings as we pass by. Now we end up at a bunch of big warehouses. We pass the train and monorail building and the bus building. I was really excited, because the building we were going into was were attractions are built and restored. Goggles were given as a just in case and we enter into a room that had little things being repainted like doors and a trashcan. Then we head back towards where the animatronics are built and designed. An old bird from the Tiki Room was being used for display and he asked for volunteer and I pushed Tracy right up front  The bird moves with air released at certain times, so he had Tracy push a button to make the bird move a different way. The last one just blew air in her face and he said that one is just for fun. She got to control an AA! How cool is that? There was a larger one that had been discontinued, a woman from some attraction with a dog. She was more modern and had all the wirings and fluids to move freely, but he said they wouldn’t let us touch that one. I remember walking past some tiny small world heads that were just creepy.

We then walk out to big painting and building room, where some Everest trains were sitting and getting some stuff installed and looked like a RnR car was being refurbed. The coolest one was to see the new Clam mobile for the Nemo attraction. There were a lot of ride vehicles either getting painted or cleaned up. He showed us a machine that if a model was made of something, this machine makes it life size out of foam. That wasn’t on either, but still cool to learn about.

Our next building was the Christmas building, which was huge! From floor to ceiling was everything Christmas. Every hotel and park decoration was here and either packed up and ready to go or getting looked at. Since it was 2 months until Christmas, most of the stuff was gone. Boxes and boxes of lights and ornaments were just lying around. This is what these people do year after year. Once Christmas is over, the whole year is spent testing lights, checking bulbs and ornaments and everything dedicated to this holiday. He was disappointed because the train that was going under one of the trees won’t move this year. The big trees are put together in pieces, but are of course decorated beforehand. This part of the tour by far the best because we got to see more inner works of Disney and how awesome everything is. This made me really want to work for Disney.

We leave the building and my throat is still killing me but I push on with another water and enjoy the rest of the tour. We drive in behind main street and park. Our tour guide then tells us to remember everything he told us about the characters and rides and how things work just as the parade is starting. We watch the afternoon parade, which we’d seen before and tells us to watch what happens after the parade. The poles with the ropes are taken away instantly, sweepers are brought in and the music quickly changes back to the Main Street song. I never noticed it before, but there are speakers in the windows, and they open and close for the parades! It was well orchestrated. Of course you wouldn’t notice this normally, just watch the parade and head to your next destination.

He then tells us about all the names on the windows, and Walt’s is facing the castle by the Plaza Restaurant. A quick bathroom break and it’s back backstage, this time to the “first level” of the MK to the mysterious utilidoors. We’d seen these before on the Keys to the Kingdom tour, and it was pretty much the same thing. Both tours are obsessed with trash though! The trash system them have is pretty cool, but we didn’t get to hear it. Unfortunately we didn’t see any characters out of costume, but we only walked so far. The walls are pained with different colors to let you know what area you’re in. This makes it easier for the CM’s to walk around. You don’t want a CM from Fantasyland walking through Tomorrowland.

Back upstairs and our tour is coming to a close. I can’t believe seven hours is up already! Where did the time go? We drove back to Epcot and were dropped off in the bus lot. He thanked us for a great tour and on the way out gave us a really cool pin that has Mickey walking through a mirror. He said if he sees any on Ebay, he’ll know where they came from.

I was sad the tour was over, but we were pretty tired. I wasn’t feeling all that hot and needed a drink so the wife and I decide to take a quick walk around Epcot. We’re having a nice dinner at Yachtmen’s Steakhouse at 7:30 so there was plenty of time.

Up next, Day 9 Part 2!

Day 9 Part 2

Head back to the Beach Club and we found our swans back on the bed!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon535.jpg
We get a shower and get dressed and since the Yachtmen’s Steakhouse was right next door, there wasn’t a hurry. I make my way to the front desk to see if we can get into the Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner since we’ve got a MNSSHP the next night and sure enough there was an opening! We then walk to the restaurant and check in and we’re lead right to our table, which is by the window. It was nice because it was still light out. We’d eaten here last trip and really loved it. The atmosphere, the food, it was all great. This time, the atmosphere was different. A big party sat right next to us and we couldn’t hear anything we were saying. Plus it took like 20 minutes to get a waiter! We were pretty annoyed that and by the time he showed up the nice-ness of the night was starting to wear. But we were hoping dinner would perk us up. I ordered lobster bisque to start and Tracy had a Caesar salad, both were good. For dinner, she got Filet Mignon and I had the Porterhouse which was huge! We ordered mushrooms and spinach for sides but that was too much food. It’s pretty expensive but since we had the dining plan, it was all good. Our steaks were phenomenal, and were barely had room for dessert. Throughout dinner were remininscing about the day and what we’d done up to this point. We were sad that tomorrow was our last full day, but were going to make the most of it. It turned out to be a very nice, romantic dinner despite all the noise. I highly recommend this place, but be sure to dress business casual. For dessert, we wound up having the sampler platter, which consisted of crème brulee, sorbet, mousse cake along with other ones that I don’t recall.

It was pushing 9, just in time for Illuminations.

We took a nice walk around the resort area. It was a little chilly that night, but that didn’t stop us. Headed over to the Boardwalk to see what kind of night life was going on.

Tracy walked into the store there and I watched a street performer who did some really cool tricks. We then continued our walk around and eventually just went back to the hotel. I still wasn’t feeling all that well and needed to lay down. We lie in bed and I watch the Cardinals/Bears game. Tomorrow is our last full day, and we’ve got another MNSSHP! Since the day was open, our plan was to hit Epcot early and ride Test Track and Soarin again. I set the alarm for early and we fall fast asleep.

Next up - Day 10 – The new Nemo ride and another MNSSHP!!

Day 10 – 10/17/06

Our last full day on our Disneymoon. I woke up to the call of Stitch once again with my throat killing me. We got dressed, ate breakfast at the concierge and left to spend the day at Epcot. We’ve got an MNSSHP tonight, so we wanted to spend the day in Epcot and do what we didn’t get to do earlier in the trip.
Our first stop is Test Track, and the wait wasn’t that bad. Midway through the line, the ride stopped but we waited it out and I think it only lasted 10 minutes. The line moves slow anyway so it wasn’t a big deal. I love this ride, especially when you get outside and reach speeds up to 60 mph! It makes a difference with the banked turns. At the end of ride just as we’re pulling up to the exit queue, the car 2 cars up dies. A bay door opens up to the left and a couple crew walk out and attend to the car.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon551.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon552.jpg
After only a few minutes, they get the car running again and we move several feet to exit.
Our next stop is Soarin! We already rode it, but wanted one more time. Since it’s now almost 10, the wait is pretty long so we grab a fast pass and get in line for Living with the Land. I’d never done this before when there was but heard it was pretty cool. Plus we get to see the Mickey Pumpkin heads:)

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon555.jpg
I liked this ride, it was nice and relaxing and learned a little bit.
Afterwards, we head straight to Soarin and use the fastpass and still wait an half hour. But that’s not as bad as the stand by line. We basically got the same seats as last time and had a great time. This is a must do! Don’t worry about being nervous, I was too at first but once you “take off”, it’s all good things.

We head out and my throat is killing me so I look for a drink but on the way we check Nemo to see if it’s running yet, and it’s not. We decide to walk around the park leisurely and take it all in.
In front of lake.

This is the Tracy and Steve Honeymoon tee that her mom got us, so she decided to wear it on our last day.
I couldn’t wear mine since she was already wearing it, so I opted for this shirt
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon557.jpg
You wouldn’t believe all the looks and comments I got. Well actually you might. A lot of people laughed and liked this shirt and how cool is my wife that I can wear it?
It’s lunch time and we’re near the American Adventure, so we grab the healthiest food we can find.

Lunch of champions!
After lunch, we head to the American Adventure to see the show, and now since we knew how it worked it made it that much more exciting! I almost fell asleep, but thank you to the people behind us that talked loudly throughout the show, otherwise I would have been out. I think Tracy managed to get a few minutes. I thought it was going to be more exciting and it was still a neat show.
After the show, we meander a bit around the park catching in everything. I’m not really saying much because my throat is killing me, and Tracy thinks I’m mad but I just can’t talk! We stop in the UK and the fish and chips place to get me a drink and this woman sees my shirt and says “I ought to punch you!” Wow, nice to meet you too. I’m sure she was partly joking so I just smiled.
Make our way around the buildings in the UK and spot Pooh and Tigger all by themselves!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon564.jpg
Next up we find my girl Alice! I wanted to have my picture with her, so I patiently waited for the rest of the children to leave and got it!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon565.jpg
It was funny to hear her say “Game Over” with her British accent, but she got it that we were married.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon567.jpg
I compose myself, say goodbye and we walk around some more looking at pins and getting more drinks because of my stupid throat. We make it back to Nemo and the ride is working!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon568.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon569.jpg
We and walk around the que. And walk. And walk. How long is this line? This has got to be the longest line ever! It bends and curves so many times, but it’s actually pretty cool as you’re now “underwater.” With the effects and scenery, it’s meant to look like you’re looking up at the world from the ocean. When we EVENTUALLY make to the ride, we board our Clammobile and start our journey to find Nemo. It was a good ride, but it felt short compared to the wait we endured.
Mr. Ray!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon573.jpg
The ending was really good, I won’t spoil it for those who have yet to ride.
Next up was Turtle Talk, and we waited in that long line too but that didn’t move too slowly. Once we’re inside, we get the very last row and await Crush. This is a neat experience and can’t wait to see how it turns out once it’s in the bigger theater. At one point, he asks the kids to count, and count they do. You thought 10 was going to be it, but they kept going and going and going. People around us were getting annoyed and Crush himself left a couple times and asked “Are they still doing it?” They did finally stop, and Crush finished up his show.
We walked over the big tank where a dolphin show was just finishing up, so we didn’t stay long.
It was hot and my throat isn’t stopping, so we grab some ice cream on the way out.

Get back to the hotel and find a cute little animal waiting for us!
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon576.jpg
We’ve got dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern at 6:45 so we had some time to shower and get dressed for our second MNSSHP!

For those who haven’t been here, it was awesome. First off, it’s a character dinner and they were all dressed up for Halloween! Second, the food is outstanding. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese and something green. There wasn’t enough room for all the food on the table!
First up was Chip, he was nice but while he was leaving he gave the “I’m watching you” gesture. Tracy’s dad does that to me so it was extra funny.

We saw Mickey but not for long. In fact, I don’t remember him being there.
After a filling dinner, it was time to get some candy!
Make our way to BTMRR and get the back seat which is awesome, it’s so fast back there. What a great ride.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon586.jpg
We grab some candy there and more candy by Liberty Square and end up in Fantasy Land and ride Peter Pan

We pass on Small World and notice the line for Dumbo isn’t very long, so we get in line. They hand us a red card and after we’re getting ready to board the ride, the CM says she needs our “ticket.” Never heard or seen this anywhere before and thought it was weird but anyway.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon597.jpg
We weren’t sure if our weight would hold up but it did and Tracy drove our Dumbo while listening to the Ghostbusters theme that came from the Dance Party nearby.
It’s almost 8:45 and I remember that Snow and the Dwarfs were going to appear again, so we walk to where they were before and get second in line! While we’re waiting, this rude woman walks up to the front and stands there and just cut us in line! The people in front were too nice about it, and when they showed up the CM yelled two pictures but as soon as he walked away to get the line in order, they kept snapping pictures! He came back and shooed them away and got a really cute pic.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon598.jpg
Doc wanted Tracy to kiss his nose, it was funny.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon600.jpg
Next we head over to Tomorrowland to ride the TTA.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon603.jpg
Hallowishes was going to start soon, so we make our way to the hub and wait for the fireworks show to begin. It is an awesome show, the fireworks are really good and the soundtrack is amazing.

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon615.jpg
The Villians dance party started in about 15 minutes so we head back to the hub. I didn’t get any good pictures, but it was a good show. Not the best in my opinion, but good.

This is a great parade and definitely worth the wait. The song is just too catchy, you’ll be singing it for months.
We were tired and it was pretty late so we do one last walk through of Main Street and take a last, long look at the castle. It signaled the end of our Disneymoon, and we were both depressed. At least we spent our last evening at the Magic Kingdom.
Slowly we walked towards the exit, waving goodbye. Hopped on the bus back toward the hotel. We reminisced about the whole trip back at the room all while starting to pack. There’s nothing worse then the end of a vacation, especially when it comes to packing. We’ve been in Disney for 10 days and have a lot more stuff than what we came down with. What do we keep? We’d have to worry about that in the morning. I set the alarm one last time and get ready for what appeared to be the slowest day in the world.

Day 11 - 10/18/06

We wake up early so we can continue to pack and get ready to leave the world. Packing is such a pain and we’re not in the mood to do so. My throat is feeling a little better, but not great. We must have spent all morning in the room stuffing our suitcases. On our last night I bought a carryon case for some of our stuff so now we have two large suitcases, each of us has a carryon and I’ve got a garment bag, all overstuffed. We’ve got breakfast at Cape May café at 9, so we’ll eat and then go back to the room to finish up. Tracy took me here for my birthday last year for dinner and it was really good so we decided to have breakfast. The wait wasn’t long and soon we’re sat towards the back. For those who haven’t been, it’s a character breakfast. They have eggs, Mickey waffles, pancakes, bacon and sausage. It’s good, but not great and the character interaction wasn’t so hot either. There was Goofy, Minnie, Chip and Dale. None of them really seemed enthusiastic to be there at all.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon589.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon601.jpg
After breakfast, we head back to the room to finish packing and making sure we’ve got everything. We call the bellhop to get our bags and store them. Our flight doesn’t leave until 7 but the bus is coming at 4 so we’ve only got a couple hours to wander around.
Our room
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon602.jpg
Make our way outside and just sit on the beach for a few minutes until it gets really hot, then we head towards Epcot for one final walkthrough.

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon617.jpg
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon638.jpg
It’s really hot today, the hottest it’s been since we’ve down in Florida. We walk into a couple countries just to cool off. We’re also really bored, because we know there’s only a few hours left and can’t really go far. Do yourself a favor on the day you’re leaving, take an early flight! I figured the later we left, we could stay longer. Nope, doesn’t work that way. Once you’re all packed, the magic is gone. No hotel room to go back to, no next day.
We make a stop and get some ice cream and just sit down for about a half an hour and just people watch. Nothing better than a soft serve in the heat. Finally decide to get up and go. Head into a few stores just to make sure we didn’t forget to buy anything. We decide that it’s time to go and we say goodbye to Epcot and walk back to the hotel. I use my last snack credit for a diet Coke in the Beach Club and we get our bags and wait outside for the bus to arrive. Picks us up right on time and we get to the airport in no time. Drop our bags off at the curb and then get in the extremely long security line. Once through, we make it to the food court to find another healthy dinner.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o242/damnstallion/Honeymoon646.jpg

It was a wonderful honeymoon, and I’m glad we spent it in Disney. We could have gone anywhere in the world, but chose Disney because of how much fun it is. You feel just like a little kid again and there’s so much to do. If you’re on the fence about where to go, just pick Disney and you won’t be disappointed.

There are currently no plans for a future trip, but hoping for later this year or next.
Hope everyone has enjoyed this trip report and I hope to write another in the future. If you’re planning on writing on about your trip, take a notebook with you and take notes after the day is over so that it’s all fresh in your mind and can write everything up quickly, and not spread things out over 4 months!! :)
