Since we have a cruise already planned for January, I wasn't really interested in the member cruise until I found out that it fell on our 10th anniversary. Of course that got me to thinking that it would be a nice way to celebrate. :teeth:

We have an August use year with only 77 points coming because we borrowed for an upcoming trip. Am I correct in assuming that I can't borrow from my 2008 points to make reservations even though the cruise falls in October?

Assuming that I can't use points to book and I pay in cash, is the entire amount due the day the reservation is made, or is it just a deposit like the other cruises? With Christmas and my sister's wedding next month, the deposit wouldn't be too hard to handle, but coming up with $2K+ in just a few weeks would be stretching it. Trying to avoid the credit cards as much as possible these days. ;)

Thanks in advance!

With an August use year, you would be able to use your August 2006 points (if banked), your August 2007 points, and your August 2008 points (if borrowed). The use year availability goes by when the reservation is actually for rather than when you call to make the reservation.

As someone else responded, you can borrow into 2008 for this cruise. If you decide to pay cash, you will need to pay for all of it up front. DVC does not allow you to make payments as with other cruises.
