The Proposal
July 26, 2006
Rich made dinner reservations at one of my favorite restaurants for my birthday. After dinner we walked outside and there was a horse drawn carriage waiting for us outside. I was so surprised but I had no idea that Rich was going to ask me to marry him. We were riding around downtown Austin and right when the sun went down Rich asked me, “Will you be my family? Will you marry me?” I was so surprised and kept asking him if he was serious. When he showed me my amazing ring I knew he was serious and I said yes! This was the most perfect proposal and the best birthday yet!

I've been busy this weekend doing wedding stuff! I finally finished my newsletters for my guests and we will get them in the mail tomorrow. I'll also post a pic of the newsletter when I get a chance. My guests have been asking A TON of questions so I thought this would be a good way to answer most of their questions all at once. princess:

Sparkles is inspecting the newsletters (I used Disney stamps)
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b316/Vanessro82/NewsletterandSparkles.jpg

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b316/Vanessro82/IMG_0179.jpg

I finished my I DO letters this weekend...they will go on my cake table. I scattered little crystals all over the letters. In case if you are wondering I bought my I DO letters from Michaels.

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b316/Vanessro82/IDOLetters.jpg

I also purchased my garter and toss garter this weekend. I found a great website recommended by another bride that lets you completely customize your garter and other items (ring pillow, etc) for a great price ($5!). I'll let you know how they turn out! http://kdbridaldesigns.com/

I sent these two pics as inspiration for my garter

Disneydreamgirl~Thanks! I can't wait to wear my band...8 more long months!

Stephsfl~Thanks! It was the first dress I tried on and I LOVE it!

Autumnbride2b~ I got my tote bags from Hobby Lobby (check their website they always have 40% off coupons). This was way too much work for me and it would have been much more expensive so I decided to do Gable boxes instead. You can find Gable boxes for a great price at http://www.bagsandbowsonline.com

It is by Watters and Watters #7456. The dress will be in periwinkle and the sash will be in snow. It is made of the same dupioni silk as my dress and it also has the same pick ups in the back. I can't wait to order them next month!! I also found my flower girl dress (it will also be in dupioni silk and periwinkle)...

What a cute idea for the shower thank you's! How did you get them to your guests? Did you hand them out at the shower?

Everything really looks fabulous! Great job.:thumbsup2

Wow can you give more information about the fantasmic desert party? I really wanted to ask my planner about it, but I don't want to sound stupid. What excately do they offer you? I would love to hear all your details!

Thanks princessdisneybelle! The countdown is on! I can't wait!

Thanks TimeforMe! I handed out my shower gifts after the shower was over. I wanted to also get them an umbrella but I had too many hosts and it got too costly with umbrellas.

Thanks Dremwvr! Our planner was no help at all planning the Fantasmic! dessert party...she told us that we would have to contact special events ourselves but you can always try asking your planner first and see what she says. My mom planned it so I don't know all of the details but I do know that they don't take reservations until 30 days out and you really need to be the first one on the phone in order to get what you want. My mom was the first to call at 8:00am (PST) when the phone lines opened and we lucked out getting the right amount of tickets. FYI- the balcony is closed for renovations so we booked premium seating. Guests need to have a ticket to Disneyland in order to attend this event and reserved seating for FAntasmic! is $59 per person. We were told that desserts and drinks will be passed.

Here is more info that I found about it on mousesavers (hope this helps)...

Fantasmic! Special Seating With Dessert

If you want to watch the wonderful Disneyland show Fantasmic! with the best possible view and comfortable seating (and enjoy yummy desserts at the same time), you may want to consider booking Fantasmic! Balcony Seating or Fantasmic! Premium Seating.

Fantasmic! Balcony Seating includes a reserved seat on the balcony of the Disney Gallery, providing a perfect view of the show. There are only about 18-20 seats available on the balcony. You will also have access to a fabulous dessert table and drinks such as coffee, soda, iced tea and hot chocolate. If you book seating for the first performance of Fantasmic! offered that evening, you will also be allowed to keep your seat for the fireworks.

Note: currently reservations for the Balcony Seating are not being taken past 7/31/07 and there are rumors that it will be completely discontinued after that time, due to a re-purposing of the Disney Gallery space.

Fantasmic! Premium Seating includes a reserved seat in a private area near the Haunted Mansion. The view is not as good as the view from the balcony. There are about 54 seats in the Premium Seating area. You will also have access to a fabulous dessert table and drinks such as coffee, soda, iced tea and hot chocolate. As with the Balcony Seating, if you book Premium Seating for the first performance of Fantasmic! offered that evening, you will also be allowed to keep your seat for the fireworks.

Either option is strictly a luxury experience and very costly. Reserved seating for Fantasmic! is $59 per person. There are no discounts on the Fantasmic! Balcony Seating. For the Fantasmic! Premium Seating, children in the party pay $10 less.

To get reserved seating for Fantasmic! you MUST call one month before the day you plan to attend. (The Balcony Seating almost always sells out within minutes.) Be on the phone to (714) 781-4400 at 8:00 am (PST). They will give you a confirmation number. On the day of your reservation, you will need to bring that confirmation number, the credit card used to purchase the tickets, and photo ID.

On the day of your reservation, pick up your tickets at Guest Relations outside the Disneyland entrance. For Balcony Seating, show up at the Disney Gallery at least 30 minutes in advance (45 is better) and let them know that you are waiting. For Premium Seating, show up in the same time frame at the special seating area. They will call you about 20 minutes before the show and show you to your seats. Usually you will be seated based in the order of the tickets purchased, but this is not guaranteed.

I am going to Disneyland for my first planning session in 10 days. On a lot of the WDW threads, they talk about receiving an AP as part of the package. Does anybody know if there is an AP as part of a FTW for DL?

I am so excited I can't wait for my trip!!!princess:

I just sent you an email :-) Disneyland FTW doesn't offer AP's for their brides...we asked at our planning session but they might have changed things. Our wedding was 6 months ago and they are constantly changing things. Have fun at your planning session and let me know if you have any questions :)

Bridetobe82 (or I guess real bride now :) ),
Did you ever post pictures of your wedding after the fact? I'd love to see how it all came together! (Of course, I understand if you didn't because of privacy reasons or whatever)
