Consider this a thread to discuss all things Guitar Hero. First of ll, if you own a PS2 and have ever played Air Guitar to your favorite song, buy at least one of these. I'm really digging the music in II, more rock-and-roll-ish, but the original has some good ones. Avoid Red Lottery at all costs, it made my ears hurt. And Yes We Can isn't very good either.

Anyways, I don't actually have II yet, just searched YouTube to see what I'll be rocking out to. Personal favorite has got to be Beast and The Harlot.

This is on Expert by the way. Enters head explosion at 45 seconds, causes seizures throughout the rest of the song. Great fun.

Feel free to discuss whatever, as long as it is about either of these games/ rawk.

So did I, but that was two months ago and now I'm working on expert and five starring all songs on medium. "Hey You" is a fun song to play on any difficulty...

BTW, Even Rats and Cheat on the Church are some of the best buyable songs IMO.
Yeah, those two are really fun. So is "Behind the Mask".

YES! I just beat Bark at the Moon on Hard! The only two modes I haven't beaten now are Expert and Easy! E's are too hard for me (ok, I just got lazy on easy).

I have GH1 and I'm okay at it. I've beat it on easy and medium. I will not try Bark at the Moon on hard. medium was bad enough! lol

My favorites from that game are:

I don't really like the buyable songs. Eureka I found love and another song after that are the only two I like to play.

...and I got a Best Buy gift card so I will be buying GH2. I played it a little at Wal-Mart and was rocking out to the Van Halen song on medium while in the store. :goodvibes

got guitar hero 2 on monday. HELL YEAH!!

already beaten easy and medium but as soon as you get to hard it does get impossible, meh, i must need more practice.

the best songs are:
wolfmother - woman
shout at the devil - motley crue
van halen - you really got me
avenged sevenfold - beast and the harlot
foo fighters - monkey wrench

and theres probably more........

Oh.. and i put some really Sweet stickers on the guitar.. it looks pretty :)

Both that and Thunderhorse rock. Out loud.

On another note, the best moment in the game I had so far was screwing up a long chain playing as the Grim Ripper (awesome character, BTW). I missed the note, and the star power animation was the one where Grim breathes in souls and then explodes in energy. The crowd booed right before the animation started, so I assumed he was devouring their souls. AWESOME!

So..with my Christmas cash I went out and bought Guitar Hero II today. (trekked all over the cotton-pickin' place to find it, too! ugh!)

so I loaded it up, played one song on easy and thought "nah, I can do better." so I changed the career mode to 'medium' and beat the game on medium *without* failing a song once.

then I went back and beat the game on easy and got 5-stars on all the songs on easy since it unlocks guitars in the shop. :)

my favorite feature of the game in career mode is how the crowd wants you to do an encore when you're done with each selection of songs. I thought that was pretty cool.

oh, favorite songs:
John the Fisherman
Surrender
Tattoo Love Boys
Monkey Wrench
Sweet Child o' Mine

I also like the practice feature when you can s-l-o-w the song down. I'm trying to nail the beginnings of monkey wrench and sweet child o mine on hard and having the song slowed down really, really helps.

nah, I'm not awesome. I can't do the songs in "Hard".
When I first bought GH1, I kinda cheated towards the end..I used the regular controller to get through the songs I couldn't play...but I did go back and learn them on the guitar controller! I just spent much time in 'quick play'.

I've 5 stared all the songs I've played on Medium. Most on the first try. Skipped easy so I could get the Grim Ripper faster.

Can't play Hard either. tried Thungerhorse on hard on practice and failed miserably. Although that song is sweet.

I've managed to 4-star most of the songs on the first try. I think there are one or two songs I only got 3-stars on. I'm sure Freebird was one of them.

...and the first thing I bought was the Grim Reaper. One of the guitars you unlock is a coffin guitar which is pretty sweet for him to play.

I think it also helps with my age that I know a lot of these songs already from listening to them when they first came out and therafter. (Don't remind me how young you were when some of these songs came out because that will just make me feel even older. lol!)

p.s. I loathe Alice in Chains so "Them Bones" is one of the few songs I'd rather not play.

I missed getting 100% on "Sweet Child of Mine" by 3 notes! (on medium)
Well, it would have only been 1 note but I was so shocked that I missed an easy one that I missed 2 more notes after that. lol. and it wasn't even during the guitar solos or anything, it was towards the very end! *pouts*

oh and I double-checked. the only 2 songs I have 3 stars in are Misirilou and Psychobilly Freakout. everything else is 4 or 5 stars.

3 notes! gah!!

same thing with "John the Fisherman" I think I missed one note on that one. I'd rather play the bass guitar for that song since Primus is all about the bass.

3 notes. grrrr.

Instead of spending like $150 on a PS2 then $50 on the game and another $50 on the guitar controller I'd just go and buy a good electric guitar and amp for $100. :lmao:

It's $60 for the original game with controller and $70 for the second game with controller. Or it may be $70 and $80, I dunno.

Get the original controller. The guitar is black and it accessorizes well. :)

The english controller for gh2 is red (with black scratchplate). But then I have seen the black one for purchase. I think the red one is cool because its just like the standard gibson sg.

On the (unofficial) wireless one I bought, the rubber band inside the guitar fell off and now I have to wrap a few rubber bands over and around onto one of the "horns".

Whoo! I got Guitar Hero II! I actually got it a few weeks ago, but I haven't had time to post it. I'm workng on beating expert, having already beaten hard and five starring everything on medium.

And today I finall beat "The Light that Blinds" on expert! It was... Hard.

THE TOPIC! IT LIIIIIIIIVEEEEEEEEES!

Thanks to this game, I ended up getting Institutionalized (They stuck me in an institution said it was the only solution to give me the needed professional help to protect me from the enemy, myself,) Killing in the Name, Psychobilly Freakout, Carry Me Home, War Pigs, John the Fisherman, Beast and the Harlot, Misirlou, and my personal favorite, Rock This Town. Thanks GHII, you RAWK!

I still can only play Medium, because neither pointer nor pinky can stretch between the notes. I'll get it eventually.

But ya I was at gamestop about to buy the PS2 version of it then the staff came up to me and said " you know that is coming out for the 360 soon right?" At that moment I walked out of the store wondering if the Gamestop person knew that he just lost like 70$.

I am reallying loving this game! My nephew is a game-a-holic! He pretty much stays by his games every free moment he has. So this has been SUPER for him. He loves it and has beat easy levels, currently working on beating all medium. What I love is that since he has been playing, he is not constantly sitting in from of his consoles or computer! Yay:banana: :banana: And he is appreciating something besides "just a game".

I haven't played in awhile now. I got caught up beating Kingdom Hearts 2 and it kinda fell by the wayside I guess. the guitar and system are all put away for now until the GH bug bites me again.
