Games aren't about graphics. Ocarina of time is considered the best game of all time by many people and it's graphics stunk. Gameplay over graphics... .-.

I say Wii, because I want a new system, not a better graphics machine. That's really the main thing that sets the Xbox from the 360 and besides the tile controller the PS2 from the PS3. More storage and better graphics.

My ultimate console wars goal is to get a WiiS360, or all of them. Yea right, but I'd much rather get a Wii60 (Wii and 360), since I'd end up using the 360 for my hardcore gaming and the Wii for the sheer enjoyment. I can't vote I guess.

Anyway, Sony dropped a nuke on longtime PS players. No more renting (generally how I decide whether the game is worth it or not), $600 price tag to get things that will only cost you more if you buy the basic set, games costing "possibly more than $60, but less than $100", completely ripping off all the competition (Their means of selling the system/ the "never-before thought of" motion controlled and wireless controllers, it's like a carnival of failure. But the system will still sell.

I think the best was that Sony released all of 2 consoles per major city for preorder, and then stated that they were pleased that their system sold out of preorders by noon that day. Hmm.. I wonder why? Sony sure is a money-making machine.

The Xbox looks promising, but is geared towards older audiences. If I manage to save up enough money for one of these the first games I'm getting are Dead Rising, Gears of War, and either Oblivion or Halo 2.

And now to the Wii. This looks very promising, and the console could potentially get major third party support, what with the innovative control system. But it gets iffy when you look at Nintendo's old track record. Nintendo is a handheld company first apparently. If you look at the first party support from the GameCube, you'll notice there wasn't very much. Sure there were some gems from Nintendo, but not very many. Their portable games usually end up with Nintendo's attention above all since it's becoming such a major part of gaming. We are almost always on the move, and because of that, portable gaming is a major player in gaming society. Nintendo realizes this, and are using that information.

Just my two cents, feel free to comment/agree/disagree.

I pity you. Some of the greatest games graphics may not stand up to today's standards, but they are still great. Castelvania: Symphony of the Night, System Shock II, Half-Life, the list goes on and on. Graphics play a role ion gaming, but ti's the interactivity of it that makes it a game rather than a movie. It makes me sad when I see people base their judgment on a game from the graphics.

I'm assuming this is a joke, correct me if I am wrong. I can not help but agree with you though, the name is dreadful, although every knows the name. Me and my friends refuse to cal it the Wii, rather by it's original name, the Revolution. Really liked that name better, since it gave the image that this console was going to Revolutionize the way people play games (which it very well might.)

Windwaker was one of the best games ever made, and when you really look at it, the frames per second were amazing and the graphics were very crisp. And trust me, I was one of those that waited a year deciding if I should get the game because of the cel shading. I didn't regret it.

I voted Wii. I have Zelda preordered, and I will be getting it when Thanksgiving break starts, so I will be content for a long time to come. I also love the weather channel, the photo and movie editing software on it, and the news channel as well.

They probably paid through the nose to get Sega and who ever made the TurboGrafix to give them the rights to the game. Otherwise, it makes NO sense what so ever. Hopefully Nintendo has enough sense to pick up Altered Beast, SplatterHouse, and Strider. I'll go emo if they don't.

Also, to help tip those people debating whether or not they want a Wii to Nintendo's side, the consoles come packaged with a copy of Wii Sports. That's a free game.

Also, Prince of Persia. I say that that series made me feel like a ninja, and that the controls might have you speed killing if they keep that feature. Can't wait.

So, the PS3 had a demo of a new Sly game, and it was so awesome I can not even get close to explaining it. You tilted the controler in the direction you wanted to go, and Sly sneaky-kill-combo was completely reworked for the game. You had to tilt the controler around with the game to use the ability. It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen. the graphics were wonderful, and the whole part of that dream left me in awe. If ever they make that game I will be so extremely excited.

Did I really give that much emphasis on the fact that the graphcis were good. I think there were all of 3 words saying that. Anyway, the real reason why I liked it so much was because of the control scheme and the way the game played. Sure, it might not work out the way I had dreamed it, but I found that the controls were identical to the way you could control a character on the system. Dreams are a gateway to revelations, or so I'mk told :teeth: .

Also, if you've seen any videos for the game Lost Planet, the graphics were comparable to any of the levels with snow in them, which is very possible by the PS3, considering all the hardware inside of it. I am still annoyed by the price tag and certain features that they have on there, but I am not slamming it nor praising it as the console god.

I have yet to unchain my fury, but some advice: If you don't know what I am talking about, save yourself the time of posting. You'll look like an idiot and I'll completely light your post on fire and disintigrate your argument.

I said that people too stupid to ventilate the systems well should take the blame for shutting it down, not the console. Or are you commenting on the fact that I said not all the Wii's are going to be perfect. That isn't me saying that the Wii's system is buggy. Or maybe it was that I said that Nintendo doesn't make many first party games, which is true. I may get one of these, just because it looks interesting. Ventilation issues happen with every console, it's just with the Xbox360 and PS3 it happens much more often, as you have stated.

I'm officially done with this argument after this statement, as it is no longer worth my time to argue with someone who doesn't look at the facts. Birdman, you really need to grow up. The "Evidence" in my face is non-existent, and has been, and can still be, disreputed with evidence. Ventilation in combination (lol, rhyme-y) with the first couple of consoles being buggier than it will eventually be, it's obvious your argument of shutting down can be partially stopped. Sure, some of them may be buggy, but not all of them as you so claim.

Ok I was a nintendo fan boy for a long time. How long you may ask well counting the SNES umm I was about 4-5 years old when I started playing the SNES. Actually, the games release was pushed back so Nintendo could work with the develepor to make the game playable. Sure, they're working on SSBB, but they said that about TP, didn't they?

Anyway, still don't see what the whole deal about the "P' word is. Not really a swear word. Hardly considered bad. At least in my book.

One guy actually got shot, but he is doing fine now.

And actually it was initially 400,000 PS3 for the States, but the shipment was cut in half because they could not keep production up. Thank goodness there are five times as many Wiis when I go pick mine up tomorrow.

Sorry, I've read through this whole entire thread. Noticed a couple of things. Some good, some not-so-good. I won't go into detail cause they're p-r-e-t-t-y obvious.

I think ALL of the new consoles are great, even if I am a Nintendo-biased person. My brother, dad, and me are all chipping in for a 360, I'm planning to buy a Wii, my brother is buying he extra controller for himself, plus whatever games. And when the PS3's price goes below $600 for a premium system, I'll probably get one too.

Call me spoiled, rich, or both. I've spent a year+ saving up for the launches of them and I'm PSYCHED. Christmas this year is gonna be oh-so-fun...

I'm not going to vote because I will end up with both. Of course I am getting the PS3 first (and I don't care about the so-called bugs and explosions that are being claimed... I had 1 of the first 360's released when they claimed the same thing about it, and have been playing it since I got it with no problems). Then the Wii shortly after.

And yes... I love all of the gaming systems. I still have my old Odyssey (goes to show my age), the original Atari 3600 and 7800, all the Nintendos (from the original up to the Game Cube), Sega Genesis, PS1 and PS2 (x2), as well as 2 Xboxs (the orignal and Halo Collectors Edition) and an Xbox360. Also, the following handhelds: the orginal Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Color, Nintendo DS (x2), PSP and the Sega Game Gear.

Wavedashing is short-hopping and then air-dodging into the ground. You can cover ground fast. Also, if I play as Link, you should consider yourself Shield Smashed.
